The R-18 action movie, unless one of the Mega-Stars (Sly, Arnie, or Stath basically these days) gets lucky and can convince the Studio to go the R-18 Route, I am sad to say...is pretty near dead in terms of big cinema release, and only really exists in Straight to DVD low budget from Bulgaria (dont get me wrong though, they have made some really Bloody Good Action Films out there!!)...what a sorry mess! the R-18 Action Blockbuster was the King of the Summer in the '80s and '90s...so what went wrong in the 2000's?

Say what you will about the overall movie but you can't deny it's packed with great action scenes. The opening at the grocery store, the awesome car chase, and everything going on in that action packed finale is pure gold.
Let me paint you a picture of the 80s as a kid. Your 12, it's about 8PM in the summer, you parents have no idea where you are or what you are doing. there are kids from the neighborhood everywhere....and I mean everywhere. Running through alleys, riding bikes, building ramps, you name it we did it. then when it got dusk/dark you knew it was time to head home and the neighborhood would clear out. You would go home usually wet (someone would get a random hose going), thirsty as all hell (unless you drank from said hose), have a shower, eat, bandage any wounds, go to bed and wake up and immediately head outside again for pretty much the entire day to do it all over again. Kids with their iPhone, water bottles, and Netflix will just never understand the freedom. We learned responsibility out of necessity which means we didn't live in our parents basement until we were 30.
LYRICS: Another hard day in the city Sweat pouring down oh it ain't to pretty Working your fingers to the bone Trying to get blood from a stone Whip it cracks just like thunder Some survive her, most go under Dancing this ball and chain around It ain't no dirt to be found Now you're watching over me (Angel of the city) Tell me where can you be. In time I'll find you, angel of the city The streets they scream, with desire The air is thick with dreams on fire And this ain't any kind of life Living on the edge of a knife Are you watching over me? (Angel of the city) Tell me where can you be. In time I'll find you, angel of the city (Angel of the city) Come on show your face (Angel of the city) Free me from this place In time I'll find, you Heaven send her to my door I can't hide away here anymore Are you watching over me? (Angel of the city) Tell me where can you be In time you know I'll find you In time you know I'll find you In time I'll find you, angel of the city
80s movies and music just have a magic for me that no other decade has had or will ever have. I'm sure a lot of it is because the 80s were my childhood, probably the only time I was ever really happy, but there's more to it than that. I don't know exactly...there's just something there.
HEAR! HEAR! Best comment I heard so far, regarding today's film stupidities! Indeed, our beloved '80s might haven't got extreme FXs but anyway you see it....THEY RULED! The movies back then, had quality and essence! Nowadays, they're just waste of money and time!
Back in the 90s when i was in high school i wrote a short story about a detective who took down a gang of satanists for a class and its inspiration was this movie.
SteinerArts Not sure the exact grade but it was less than stellar. Not the greatest work even by high school standards and it also didn't star Sly Stallone.
Man my father was so lucky to grow up in these times. I watch these movies and the music as well and I just feel like I belong there. Back then people had talen, heart, passion, and weren't such snowflakes. I look at my generation and I can't relate with anyone. I didn't make any friends since I was 10, just made some after 11 years at 21 years old. and all 4 of them are double/triple my age. Can anyone else relate? I can't be the only one.

Sylwek jestes Wielki
The era between 50s and the first half of 90s has been probably the best among the entire human history. I've been lucky to born in the 80s, I will bring forever in my heart the legacy of that childhood
+Darth Immortallis Also don't forget 60's brought us Cher and Sonny, Animals, Beatles, Introduced us to Stanley Kubricks' masterpieces and most important made color tv possible! 50's were also good in its own right! People like Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Elvis Pressly, young Frank Sinatra and others just to name a few are all talanted geniuses, whose potential were truly uncovered during that specific period of time!...
+Giampaolo Ferranti True! Mid 50's till mid 90's was really a time gap, which i can describe as "renaissance" of creativity and talents! Perfect time for entertainment and mass media in general! Everything from cloths and hair fashion to cartoons and tv shows were only getting better and better! Untill somewhere closer to the end of the 90's, when Hip-Hop, Heavy Metal, Girl/Boy bands Pop music, Trance and House started taking over big scene! But in my opinion movies were still good even after millenium hit! It is somewhere after 2002-2003 is when it started getting worse for movie scene! But since then its all dull at almost everything - starting from how people dress finishing with how they act/sing (if it even can be called acting/singing to even start with!...)
For what it's worth I still remember seeing cobra in theater in 1987 maybe early 88 then bought it on vhs still have it today once of best movies ever made imo and robert tepper is an incredible musician
Stallone was a good actor. The roles he played had a strong and great story theme to it that was realistic. There were many pieces of the movie, to which other people could relate to in one way or another. Stallone was comfortable with his roles, and the characters were made for him.
+Sharon Easley He was great in the first Rocky, that I will not deny. Although he was more or less playing himself TBH. Don't have much experience with Stallone past that.

*OI DO BRASIL :)*
Hey, how were we supposed to know back then that the future was gonna go completely down the toilet once the 2000s hit? lol
The 80's music was legends. Many unique and catchy songs were composed and released during those years.
What's the big difference between 80's and nowadays action movies?
80's characters are remembered even 30 years later. Those of nowadays are forgotten 3 weeks later...
John wick begs to differ
@@KusaiPayne The Wick movies are mediocre at best. I don't remember anything from the first movie.
@@prltqdf9 bruh, maybe cuz your old
Wolfie John Wick saga isn’t that bad. I really like Cobra and Old action movies tho.
Rafael A P Nascimento >>> That´s too bad that they can´t create something original and impactfull worth remembering. I think I´ll remember Hugh Jackman from "Wolverine" though.
80's and 90's movies are so awesome&badass. And dont forget the cool soundtracks which is a forgotten art nowadays
Thats cause back than, the music soundscore often was part of the storyline. Like in the training montages for rocky 4 etc
dam i miss these days.the 80s and 90s.
I miss my childhood.
....everything was so much more simple....
Iam with your bro miss the carefree days of the 80s and 90s.
80's much better than 1990's. Ronald R was running the nation. He was a real leader and president.
Fuck the 90s
Yall have to admit though,
That somewhere in the 90s was the last generation with common sense.
Viva a década de 80! Onde tinha ótimos filmes. Que delícia de época
Vdd nos anos 90 tb
Concordo com você plenamente 👏👏👏

+Daniel Holta Me 5.
+Brother Malachai me 6th
+Sharpblade Yes he was, he turned a movie that was rated one star by the critics into a classic.
2017's superheros - Iron man , superman , Batman , Captain america , Thor
80's superheroes - Marion Cobbreti , John Rambo , Dutch Schaeffer , John Maclane , Rocky Balboa
You forgot Martin Riggs.
@@NemesisN4Sir That's a good addition! John J. would destroy them all though! I'm 31, my uncle graduated in the 80s, but prefers Bourne and says he'd whoop Rambos ass! I mean, come on!! 🤦♂️
They were made waaaaay before your superheroes, in comic form in the 20’s-50’s
dirty harry
Sagittarius jen just cobra people don't call hill by his first name
one of the absolute top tracks from the good old 80's. Robert Tepper is an unknown musical talent!
So true. All over the world my friend. We were living our own lives, now, we are living electronically, like puppets with our mind turned off.
Same in 90s
LYRICS:
Another hard day in the city
Sweat pouring down oh it ain't to pretty
Working your fingers to the bone
Trying to get blood from a stone
Whip it cracks just like thunder
Some survive her, most go under
Dancing this ball and chain around
It ain't no dirt to be found
Now you're watching over me
(Angel of the city)
Tell me where can you be.
In time I'll find you, angel of the city
The streets they scream, with desire
The air is thick with dreams on fire
And this ain't any kind of life
Living on the edge of a knife
Are you watching over me?
(Angel of the city)
Tell me where can you be.
In time I'll find you, angel of the city
(Angel of the city)
Come on show your face
(Angel of the city)
Free me from this place
In time I'll find, you
Heaven send her to my door
I can't hide away here anymore
Are you watching over me?
(Angel of the city)
Tell me where can you be
In time you know I'll find you
In time you know I'll find you
In time I'll find you, angel of the city
Thanks for the lyrics, I love the movie ,love the song but never knew the lyrics, Awesome
❤
Without a doubt, Cobra is Stallone's most underrated flick, this and Over the top I still like watching.
Over the top was creepy.
Cant forget Victory
Michael Glattli enough of the ‘Rocky’ & ‘Rambo’ sequels. We need a ‘Cobra’ sequel.
Victory doesn’t get much love, can’t even catch it anywhere on free channels.
And oscar
This soundtrack is so awesome! And a great movie, too!
Jessika Guedes What?
80's motion picture soundtracks were so iconic.
Very underrated movie. One of my favorite Stallone movies. The soundtrack is really good too.
Fuck 2000+ years. 80 and 90' were the best

80s music better than today
Aways
@Eric DeVries No. It was recorded in 1984 and released in 1986.
yea
You got that right.
I was born 1999
And i find the music from the 80s way better
Stallone knows what he wants out of a movie and he’s the reason why we have men instead of boys in the 80s and 90s
Robert Tepper and Stan Bush! Greatest soundtrack artists!!!!
Yes and yes you are right and don't forget Jerry goldsmith 👌👌👌👌👌
80s movies and music just have a magic for me that no other decade has had or will ever have. I'm sure a lot of it is because the 80s were my childhood, probably the only time I was ever really happy, but there's more to it than that. I don't know exactly...there's just something there.
Amazing and very atmospheric song! This is one of the 80's best!
I miss old movies and old actors , old songs and good old nights at VideoShop. But i love to rewatch old movies when i can.
great track to 80's kick ass classic action movie cobra.
This generation's movies are the disease... the 80's were the cure!!
HEAR! HEAR! Best comment I heard so far, regarding today's film stupidities! Indeed, our beloved '80s might haven't got extreme FXs but anyway you see it....THEY RULED! The movies back then, had quality and essence! Nowadays, they're just waste of money and time!
Steve Sullivan indeed and it is not just in the movies.
Donatas Kazakevicius That goes without saying!
Steve Sullivan Damn right !
This generation's movies are the disease... the 80's were the progenitor!!
Back in the 90s when i was in high school i wrote a short story about a detective who took down a gang of satanists for a class and its inspiration was this movie.
And what grade did you get for it? ;)
SteinerArts
Not sure the exact grade but it was less than stellar. Not the greatest work even by high school standards and it also didn't star Sly Stallone.
*****
So, no Sly for us. =(
maaaaaaaaaaaan !!!! Bryan Manning maaaaaaaaaaan !! so cool !
hahahaaaa we may have went to the same high school ....!!!
Cant Count how often seen this fantastic movie with that epic music...80s at its best 🖤
My name is Declan Taggart, I'm k known as deck! Your father was once your age my friend, I'm just saying is!! Remember that, that's all, but for sure it was amazing, I'm still stuck in 1985, Michael j fox back to the future, love it, but then I wake up with chronic panchreatitis in my real life, you know, enjoy my friend when you can, I'm still going, 🙏👍
In this life that iv known to many different people from the god damm same race colour! Beliefs disbeliefs, we r all the same brothers and sisters for god sake, im ssick of putting on the news every day to learn people are killing each other all over this world, its so bad, i go to bed with this! Have nightmares about it and wakening up to it, ladies and gentlemen children all over this planet??? Its time to stop this fnnn fighting over fnnnn nothing, fighting for land thats going to be here when your not, people of this world need to come together and stop these people from doing this, bigtime, and dont be afraid, because when you lay your head down on your pillow at night!!!! You will sleep better! Because you done the right thing, and anybody out there!! Everyone can make mistakes, 🙏🙏🙏❤️
Hi my friend 🙏
true my father enjoyed these classics
Born in 1974, I consider myself very fortunate to have grown up in this era. We had so much fun back in the day.... and we accomplished it with very primitive computers and no cell phones. lol
Great film.
Very underrated film.
Mercury car was bad ass.
This is the epitome of the 80s right here, people. Epic tracks with an epic montage. My favorite Stallone movie, if not the best 80s action flick.
"Angel Of The City" and "Push it To The Limit" these are two of my favourite songs of the 80s
I love it , i love the 80'
me too
Stallone's musics are the best of the best. Eye of the tiger, no easy way out, angel of the city
Wtf you forgot hearts on fire and a couple more
Eye of the tiger, no easy way out, angel of the city, hearts on fire, double or nothing, over the top soundtrack(meet me half way, all I need is you, in this country),it’s a long road from first blood, just before the war began from lock up.

Never heard it till my 18yr old boy played loud on his desktop and I got blown away..How come I missed it all these yrs?
I miss the 80s so much wish I could go back
Amen! Everything was soooo much simpler back then and you had a lot of good tunes like this to listen to!

The era between 50s and the first half of 90s has been probably the best among the entire human history. I've been lucky to born in the 80s, I will bring forever in my heart the legacy of that childhood
+Giampaolo Ferranti YEP!
After the mid 90's it went down hill from their because the Libs started to take over and destroyed everything that was good in America
+Giampaolo Ferranti The Cold War, such happy times.
For what it's worth I still remember seeing cobra in theater in 1987 maybe early 88 then bought it on vhs still have it today once of best movies ever made imo and robert tepper is an incredible musician
"your the disease, im the cure" fun 80's movie for sure!

Dammit man, Stallone was such AN EPIC ACTOR, they don't make actors like this anymore.
He still is!
Cobra is one hell of a Los Angles cop with a attitude that says it all . Your a disease 🦠 I’m the cure. Love that line from Stallone.
The movie and soundtrack were so dope and it had the hot Bridgette Neilson in it
Stallone was a good actor.
Best Stallone movie in my opinion.
Criminally underrated movie. But it having four million views + here gives me hope for the future of movies.
