    I compare the speed at which you completed that under sink work to the speed at which I (a DIY plumber) would have done the same job!! I am about 4 times slower but learning as I go - thanks for sharing, it helps a lot.

    My advice to any plumber fitting a BTW pan is make sure the floor is stable/secure and the pa. Doesn’t move once install as any move will cause the flush cone to slowly work its way out and leak.

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is critical that to be fair, like you say the pan should be stable and solid, thanks for the support as always

      I normally put Plumbers Gold sealant on flush/pipe cone to stop it coming out.

    Nice work tom but why didnt you just fit the unuts then box and plaster up to them ...seems a waste of a unit just for front panels ...👍

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  ปีที่แล้ว

      The units tend not to be that strong, being in a kids home things tend to get destroyed so having just the panels is better in this situation, the fronts will probably end up being stuck back as well, I know this makes maintenance a bit harder but will stop anyone from tampering with stuff, thanks for watching as always

    TBH I think all back to wall pans should be fitted like this.
    Why have a concealed system frame with a wc unit on it?

  • @tirvplumbing
    @tirvplumbing ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Very nice work as always 👌 I'm always partial to a hard piped tap.
    I got the rothenberger equivalent of your ox plastic slice and I'm not 100% sold on it yet. Breezes through push fit but it's tough going to turn it on pvc solvent weld pipe. Dunno if that's just the rothenberger cutter or general to these types.
    Got it for the college assessments as it's so much quicker than the knackered old hacksaws they've got.

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching as always mate, to be honest I love my OX cutter, I always used to use a hack saw, and I was sceptical as to how good it would be, it flies through solvent, the only thing I would say is it's better to score lightly all the way round once, then press a bit harder otherwise it tends to track

    • @tirvplumbing
      @tirvplumbing ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PlumbLikeTom thanks good to know. I'll practice a bit more with this rothenberger one might be a bit of a knack to it on pvc. 👍

  • @normanboyes4983

    Nice work as usual Tom. It would seem a frame toilet would have been a ‘simpler’ solution - would it have been more expensive?

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The frames can be quite expensive, it would have also been difficult to pass the soil pipe behind for the other toilets along the run without stepping everything forward more, in the end the job looks nice and is as the client wanted, thanks for the support as always Norman

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe I got the flux brushes from BSS, I got them ages ago, like you say most seem to drop to bits after a while but these hold together well, thanks for watching as always mate

    Where did you buy the brass pipe clips as I used talon clips under a kitchen sink cabinet but pipe is connected with a compression fitting and protrudes too far out.

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Have a google for 15mm school board clips, most plumbing merchants should stock them, they do look nice and space the pipe off the unit that bit more, thanks for watching 👍

    Good content as per Tom, some sound advice there, is that a Roper Rhodes wc unit? If so hang on to the spare clips as I’ve had a couple recently where one of the clips have been broken.
