Thank you for the suggestion, for stylized cloth I find that is better to sculpt the details, but you can also make a procedural material for a more general use as well.
im really into this pipeline - i always use this method with my props and it works great - i have only one question for u when u creating a new copy out of ur low poly in maya - do u smooth it out? or are u adding some poly density inside of maya? - I've seen that u just dynameshing the object inside of zbrush but how do u receiving such a smooth model without subdividing it?

sometimes I add supporting edges and divide it before dynameshing. If its a geometric object I just take it to zbrush and dynamesh
