I decorated my living room exactly like the laboratory in "Bride of Frankenstein". The only bad part is that some of my sparking Jericho's ladders walked their way off the glass table I put on my glass side tables. Everything broke on the floor in our rental house in Fremont. You can imagine the "BIZZ BUZZ CRACK CRACK THRUM THRUM" did to the house. vibrates off the table.
Mary Shelly should have written story differently where "Nazi Mad King Ludwig of Bavaria uses a Nd YAG tunable dye laser with a fiber optic lens to taxidermy Saartji Bartman "Hottentot Venus" and other equatorial tropical beauties into steam filled airships with steam rocket nozzles where sulfur hopper ceramic burner in anus and vulva seam jet thruster since Xcor has a patent for a cryogen valve for a "Lynx spaceplane" much like Sanger's Silbervogel" while another inventor had patented an isotopic uranium gas core rocket engine of fission fragment given how in of Germany today a female Black inventor is developing a "vulva shaped spacecraft" of wave rider design.

Mary Shelley was a great visionary since today "Make" had an article on how 9 volt batteries can be used for electrophoresis to extract DNA while biotech catalogs describe how to power an electroporator transfection device to insert DNA anyone can make from any AM FM radio since it is just a case of having variable resister vox and variable capacitator tuner in parallel. Still Strickfaden inspired by Tesla's violet ray tubes were also visionaries who foresaw cold plasma having biotech applications such as a patent for cold plasma electroporation.
The crude stuff from JUST IMAGINE was largely film noise, splices and sound of sprocket holes running through a soundtrack generator - after that, I believe from FRANKENSTEIN onward, the noises were the actual sound the devices made.
Counter rebuttal to Mary Shelly and Hollywood's portrayal of Dr. Mengel as Dr. Frankenstein was "Metropolis" filmed by Fritz Lang from a book written by a German Baroness portrayed "Aryan workers being sacrificed to Anglo American anthracite coal" with references to how ancient Middle East smelters were fueled by human sacrifices. So if Heisenberg's Leipzig criticality dragon experiments were successful Halloween would be celebrated with "Maria the Robot" created by a hillbilly hick town electrician and a flooding scene of lower catacombs.
always great to see his props pop up in films
Brilliant work! Completely influential--I'm one! Wayne Keyser, thank you for this concise, well made short documentary.
Just watched Young Frankenstein on T.V. Strickfaden should be more well known. His work was amazing.

Well done.
Bravo!

Do you know if he did the sounds effects as well?
