I like to do my own, but I want it put back right , so I take my time, make notes & get a workshop manual to give me the pointers for a proper job. Because I know next time I will be making it easy for myself. I like to watch your methodical, logical approach to the job, it saves time & frustration. Thanks Baz
I did a clutch like that, kept finding loose or missing bolts. I put everything back as it should be but the customer was annoyed at the extra cost & time because the "car was fine without them" I still felt better knowing I did a good job 🤙
'the car was fine without them' yes, that's true. But if you don't put everything back and something happen to the car, the customer points at you. So do it right, explain why there are extra costs and give the car to the customer with the confidence that your job is done right
Mate I absolutely love your attention to detail, people who leave bolts and clips off absolutely drive me fucking insane, if I brought my car to you and you charged me extra I would be happy, love the videos mate people who take the time to do things by the book a rooney are getting very hard to find these days 😢
Great video and explanation. As a customer its frustrating when these extra costs come up but the truth be told most customers are good as long as its explained why. Top job 👏 You've earned a sub
Baz what a star your videos are watching with a beer AA man at my wifes grandland and it was the same AA man that came to my home 2 years ago with the low oil pressure warning ,just the man I said you told me you had not seen issues with these wet belts showed him the new timing belt sticker and he softned when I told him the history keep up the great works
Wow no friction washer, I wonder how they managed to time up the pulley albeit a fraction out, must have been great stress on the timing pin. Friction washers on Volvo's are diamond coated steel washers that dig into the surfaces providing a high level of friction, I suspect they are the same for Ford. Maybe you could show us an old one if you can zoom into its surface. To be fair to the last mechanic, he didn't have a library of Baz wet belt tips, training, tools, and techniques to reference! just a load of silicon and a very nervous start when he turned that key😄
Baz, my OCD approves of your work ethics. Excellent detectivework there sir. If only you were a bit nearer, you'd have my business. (I'm in the Netherlands so there is a bit of sea inconveniently sitting between us)
Hi baz I've been watching your channel for a while now and recently subscribed to it as I find your content both enjoyable and educational. I am an m.o.t tester in a very busy garage in Cardiff but because we are a quick turnaround garage the chances of ever doing a wet belt on a ford or a chain on a diesel Vauxhall are pretty much out of the question but would love to do one. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming and hopefully one day will be able to get to one of your meets and say hello regards Rob

Srećom, u Srbiji se takav motor ne vozi. Važi za jako loš motor, i to se ne kupuje. Ipak drago mi je da vidim kako radiš na njemu. Puno pozdrava i lep vikend ti želim. 🍀🍀🍀🍀❤❤❤❤
Hello baz i was wondering if its totally normal for oil pressure to stay on for just a second after starting, have had wetbelt service done too so no worry about pickup?
Definitely been on the front of an AA approved garage forecourt "in immaculate well loved condition" after being bodged up from a BCA purchase i reckon..
Ben lost his tea trolley again? 🫣 It’s good to see you put car back together in the correct manner Baz… hopefully customer appreciates that. Happy days! MORE TEA PLEASE BEN! 😆👍🏻
Unfortunately 90% of used car dealers will just bodge things so they last just over the "3 month warranty" they give (but that warranty means FA). If you are a buying any secondhand car over £4000 please, for god's sake get an approved inspection.
Nice one, job well done. Would like to see a small clip one day on how you download your videos and edit them to get your content up so quickly :) Take it easy
Hi Baz, any advice on a P0016 fault? 1.0 Ecoboost, tried swapping sensors and still the same, going to try a different vvt next, any suggestions? Cheers
It's not my garage no, and yes many times but as it is now I'm lucky to be working where I am and getting the support I've been there 24 years and it would be hard leaving that's for sure
I regret saying this, but i usually test new garages exactly for the poor workmanship displayed here. I bought a new car in August to replace the lease car we were giving up. It had part service history but ran and drove good and i got a good deal. First order was getting the brake fluid changed. The garage "replaced" 2 calipers due to seized bleed nipples, did the brake fluid change and replaced the fuel filter (the fuel filter had been replaced prior to the sale btw) i got charged £450. I noticed the braking performance was vastly reduced after this so i took a look and they had over filled the brake fluid reservoir by 50mls thus over pressuring the system and leading to very poor performance. I then decided to do a full disc and pad replacement all round. I found the new caliper they'd installed on the rear had a twisted brake hose and the anti rattle clip wasn't re-installed properly (it fell out when i took the wheel off). They also didnt tell me the "old fuel filter" didnt need changing. I have doubts whether they actually replaced the calipers and just simply sand blasted them and reinstalled. They were referred to trading standards sharpish. The second garage did 4-wheel tracking. They rang me up the day i dropped it off at lunch telling me it would need 2 tie rod ends due to seized parts of the old ones. Whats funny is, when i picked it up it actually drove 10 times worse despite not a single bolt being loosened anywhere - massive vibrations and the car felt like it was gyrating. Dropped it off again at the per-arranged appointment at 08:30am. At 4:30pm i had to ring them up to find out whats happening - one new tie rod end fitted, the other one was the wrong one and they were waiting for a replacement to be delivered. Got a phone call the next day at 08:30am saying the cars ready. Got to the reception desk to be told only the tie rod from the day prior had been replaced as he had managed to "loosen things up". The car drove EXACTLY the same as when i had dropped it off the first time. Again, another "weird" coincidence. £230 lighter and the car drove like nothing had been done. I went to my preferred garage which is a decent amount of miles away for 4-wheel tracking and wheel balancing - low and behold, drives GREAT. I am really fed up with unscrupulous garages who actively scam people who they believe don't know any better. 11/10 video, many thanks.

Whoever worked on that shouldn't be allowed near engines. The 'quality' of this gentleman's work had me cringe no end.
I love your vid's mate. Always on the look out for the next one.
Hi Baz ,suspect maybe that’s had a second hand engine fitted hence lots of parts bodged or missing 😢

Whoever thought this wet belt unit was an improvement over the old one was delusional.

Well, they do pump electricity around the car, so technically, you're correct 😂
