Maybe I'm giving them too much credit, and just assuming that the "plain" field is supposed to be turf, and the field with rows in it is supposed to be grass. I didn't spend the time to try to check the different stadiums to see if that held up.
Who's hit one over the Green Monster in RBI '93? I've only been able to do it with Canseco on the '90 A's. It's amazing how hard it is. Hit some shots to left field only to bounce off the top of that thing.
Don't know how anyone can hate good sports games, pretty much the best in multiplayer competition that existed back then and still one of the best things today (Rocket League, Omega Strikers, NBA 2K, FIFA and so on, as long as there aren't any cheaters are around it's a lot of competitive and co-op fun)
@@ShadowAngel-lt8nw Well there you go, if I wanted multiplayer or co-op action I wouldn't be sat in front of a console; I'd be running around outside. For videogames, its always been single player for me all the way. Back in the day, when I got a new game magazine it used to annoy me if there were pages 'wasted' on sport or MMO game reviews 😂
The S NES justifies me using Es Nez more than one in a Yesterzine script. Otherwise nice rounders game I guess :P It is a good illustration of the difference between our show approaches. Because on a Yesterzine it'd be "ignore RBI 3 and 4 to play this" because I'm all about coming to a title fresh. And there's no point playing the mildly worse ones when this exists. But your review is spot on, taken as a thing released when it was, this deserves to be punished.
Yeah, that's why I threw in the caveat when I was doing the scoring, definitely multiple ways to look at it. And you're right, if you're looking at it specifically from a 2023 viewpoint, of course go with the one with the two extra teams, if everything else is, regrettably, the same.
I like sports games, i like a lot of sports, but Baseball is something i can't wrap my mind around. It's like a super dumbed down, simplified version of Cricket, that even as a video game isn't quite as fun. I tried, oh yes, i tried, even as recent as "Super Mega Baseball 3" i tried, but i think the only one that was mildly amusing was Baseball Stars 2 on the Neo Geo. I definitely tried some RGI Baseball on Mega Drive, but alas, it's just not something i enjoy - or understand. Back to Football, Hockey and Basketball or me - or even Rugby, EA's rugby is quite fun actually 😄
It's cool if you like sports games Dave, keep doing your thing, man, and be happy.
you got it!
THAT'S what Tengen thought Astroturf looked like?!

I'll have to remember to try that specifically when I get to RBI '94.
Sports games have always been trash but I respected them (and EA!) for making the Genesis as popular as it was.
