Very smart! I too would've figured that the switch was actually moving something inside the SD card, instead of inside the camera. Saved me trying to open it up and maybe breaking it further. I'm getting my card replaced under warranty but obviously need the data off it first. Thanks!

Thank you for talking about this lock switch, I had the same problem as you did and I was able to fix it by being more careful with the card. I slid the Lock on "Unlocked" and carefully put the card back in my Camera. If I didn't watch this video I wouldn't have figured it out.

I noticed that some card readers push this tab down or even off when inserting card. I'd first superglue the tab in place to prevent this if you have no reason to lock. As for the matchstick (flat toothpick is easier as it has square edges) I would superglue it in place, THEN trim it flush- less handling. Never push a blade towards you finger! I winced seeing that.
Or just put tape over that side. I just tried that as couldn't be bothered to do the matchstick thing. Thanks for the vid, though. This & another one gave me the idea.

I have a problem..I have a 64gb onn. sd memory card that shows on my camera the memory card is locked. But sadly the switch is not locked, the switch is unlocked. The switch is not broken. I tried the 30 sec rule. The card still does not show data. What do I need to do?
