HELL YEA I love seeing other small channels experiencing fpv it’s the best thing ever!!
I kinda wish I recorded my “journey”
I recorded my journey but dont find it 🤠
Do you recognise me
The relief when you get the correct beeps on first plug in, ha ha, I know that feeling! Welcome to the hobby.
Yes such a relief 😂
YES BROOOOOOO SUCH A HIGH QUALITY VID
The part where it says 2 months later is rly nice man
appreciate it, and glad you liked that bit
That "no smoke" plug in feeling hits just like that...
🤣
im so happy for you i cried when you plugged in that battery for the first time. we've all been there i felt your relief when your fell out the chair. welcome to the skies brother. fly smart, fly safe, fly often
thankyou bro, it was like weights off my shoulders. such a good feeling
This is my favorite hobby of all time. Some tips:
1) Dont point your goggles straight up because the lenses act like a magnifying glass and can burn your screen when the sun hits them.
2) The pop when plugging in 6s batteries is very normal.
3) When you get big peaks and not fully covered pads when soldering, that most likely means your iron is too cold. I personally solder around 400 degrees celsius and that seems to work well.
4) The propellers actually surprisingly do matter a lot. Depending on which you get, it can make your quad feel super snappy and responsive, or super smooth and stable.
Hope some of this is new knowledge! Happy flying
thankyou yeah that soldering tip will definitely come in handy
@@tomyewAlso, try silver solder paste....i use it for electronics, has a much better experience soldering. just a tip. you just put some on the pad, and put your soldering iron on it, and bring the wire into it. Easy.
😉👍
3 beeps = ESC 👍
2 beeps = FC is Communicating with the ESC
Music to a pilots ears.
Congrats on the first build!! makes me happy to see people still taking an interest in one of the best hobbies I've ever come across, can't wait to see your progression in the Fpv world.
thankyou, and yes it really is one of the best. I've experienced nothing like it
Andarilho 🐺👣👣👣
That slide off of the chair in pure happiness made me so happy
The world doesn't understand...but our community does! Welcome to the club😁
Nice to see more people getting into the hobby as for 2 small tips that will maybe help:
1) there is some stuff called „FPV worry free“ it’s kinda like something between nail polish and hot glue and you can coat your electronics to make them completely waterproof love the peace of mind it gives
2) try to put some solder on your soldering iron and then wipe it on the brass sponge this should make it shiny and like new again
Happy flying❤
thankyou, and I'll definitely have to get some of that worry free waterproofing
Love ya work Tom. It’s so good to see what you love doing in your spare time. ❤
That floss trick for the vibration dampers is great trick. I always struggle with them!!!
Perfect video for newbies, im old..been researching and buying stuff for ages, building a cinewhoop foxeer 25.i really loved the exitement and joy from you both! glad your plugging in without a smokestopper worked..thanx for sharing ,made my day
Nicely worked the flying was supper awesome, glad that you nailed it off. Great job. 👍
Great vlog, and good energy. Enjoy the journey!
Terrific vid from start to finish! Make more!
Nothing better than flying a racing or freestyle drone with no stability mode. For sure the sim helps or you wil go through so many props I have 17 now maybe slightly in to it ha. Making yur own and doing the betaflight or emu fligt set up along with yhe soldering is enjoyable.
You guys made that totally visceral to a viewer! Really felt the emotion.
I'm waiting for my first RC so I can start on the simulator. Thanks for the extra inspiration! 🙂
learning to solder is an art it took me a little while to get it too
very nice, building is a major part of this hobby 👍
Loved seeing the emotions buddy... Congrats on the first build ❤
the nicest first fpv build ever🎉 this was super nice to watch good job
This video is the reason I found a good elrs controller for my tinyhawk 3 freestyle. Thank you
Nice on dude. Congratulations on your first of many build! 😁😁
Man i really enjoyed this video! im just getting in to fpv myselv and this video made me even more excited!
Amazing video. Entertaining as well as educational
This was sooo well done! So sick 🔥🔥
appreciate it 🔥🤙
Great job 👍🏻 thank you for sharing the journey!
I used to solder really bad when I first learned it (as a kid doing electronics projects), so much so that it took me hours to accomplish anything.
When I started messing about with quads my soldering was already okay, but now 400ish builds later, I’m quite proficient.
As with everything you only get better the more you do it.
Happy flying!
this is good to hear, as I'm still at the kid level. Just have to build more I guess 😂
I’ve got the same transmitter! Love that thing
OMG this brings me back to 2017 when I built my very first one!!! Welcome to our community!
thankyou, I'm loving it so far!
Love this content Tom, keep it up
super enjoyable video to watch good job 🙏
Welcome to the world of FPV and Thumbs up

cool vid dude!. cant wait to see more😃😃
Solid flying and great video. New sub
Love flying drones, nice video. You really captured your journey quite well. Glad you went digital!
thankyou, I'm happy I did too. I'd like to try analog in the future, out of curiosity
So cool how you built this drone with so much fun. Hope to see some more videos from you soon. Grzz from the Netherlands
thanks. yeah I'm currently editing one now, it just takes a while
Happy welcome at the pilots, mate!
Very nice build and first flight.
I´ll follow you now.
Greatings from Berlin!
thankyou
Very cool acrobatics at the end!
Incredible progress in a short period of time. Dope video.
appreciate it
Congrats on your first build! Looks like you are learning quickly.
thankyou
Wow this build is spectacular! Great job guys 🤙🏽
love to hear it ✌️
Congratulations, welcome to the community and enjoy!!
thankyou!!!
Hoo boy i like that! Your video is mind-blowing, good montage, good sound, good drone. My admiration form France!
thank you thank you
YOUR KILLING IT. JUST SO YOU KNOW FPV HOOKED. HAPPY FLYING
this was such a sick video dude 🔥 gonna need more like this
more to come. just not this long
Incredible. I will also build my own FPV drone this summer.
Welcome to the most addictive and thus by time expensive hobby!
Respect for going all the way to build your first one yourself, best way to go.
For soldering, get sth. like the Diatone Mamba Soldering Practice Board. 350°C - 410°C, the bigger the pad the more heat you need to be able to go in and out fast, for not heating up the board too much. But most boards have good heat resistance by now. But I bet you have good help from flight experienced buddy, also check out for locals to get into it ;-)
You made great progress! Keep it up, have fun up there! 🙂
oooo that's a good idea I'll have a look at getting one of those boards, and thankyou
Well done man!
im impressed that you managed to build ur first ever drone while filming it at the same time and id say you did a really good job and made good decisions all the way through and im just stoked seeing ur reaction to flying it for the first time cause i remember feeling the exact same thing
thank you. while filming I wasn't even sure if I'd turn it into a video or not, I just wanted it for memories mainly. it also helped having my mate help film for some things too.
That was awesome! I've just done the same thing basically, except my maiden flight wasn't as good. It's really satisfying being able to know how the entire thing works and repair it if anything breaks.
haha I've got to know what happened on your maiden flight now. Yes knowing how to fix it is such a good feeling
such a nice video, makes me want to build one now
Cool vid mate, and some nice smooth flying 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks ✌
Nice production value man, I like a good fpv story and you are telling yours nicely. Subbed 🤟
man that's so nice to hear, thank you
Well done!!!
I love how careful u are with everything....me knowing that you will fly this at very high speeds into the ground makes me smile. Just don't give up bro cheers
oh and I have, no damage but was definitely some decent speed. It's much more durable than I first thought
@@tomyew they are totally so durable especially the frame u got....but I recommend when you get more comfortable flying to avoid freestyle over concrete!!!! I don't care what frame you have or motors it will all explode hahaha I really enjoyed your video!!! Peace bro
Very nicely done. Production value is excellent along with great quality video / audio. Enjoyed it. New sub.
wow thanks, I appreciate that
ngl I want one so badly after watching this video and some others😄 Hope to see you post more videos
I'm about to build one myself, this is the best thing ever! Gear job on your first flight!
thanks man, completely agree. good luck with your build!
Dude, Congratz on your First Quad! I'm building my first at the moment aswell. Enjoy the Flightz!
Thanks man, it's been such a joy to fly. Good luck with your build 🤝
Yeah boi! Can’t wait to see what this leads to in the future! Congrats on the build. 6s is crazy for a first. But you’ll get it! I have faith.
yes bro! thanks for the support!
@@tomyew I’ll be watching the progression!
Awesome video!
i cant believe you only have 700 subs you deserve more i would have expected at least 100k this is a good ass vid bro keep it up, very well produced
thanks dude :)
Bro. It's like your first couple months wrapped up into one LOL. I loved that! I'm building my first drone now since like 2015....it's been a bit. Gonna try out freestyle and betaflight on something that isn't a mobula 6 haha. Keep it going, people responded VERY well to the first video!
Nice vid bro ! Keep going !
There are some really good practice solder boards that you may find helpful. Keep on flying man. Welcome to the hobby.
thankyou. Yeah, now that the stressful soldering is over I should get a board to practice before my next build
I just got into it a couple weeks ago. Went with hdzero and Zorro max. USB adapter so I can use it for both. Got a 3s mobula 7 on the way and I want to build something.
Really nice to see your discovery when building. The first time is so magic. Even your first solder job, nicely done. Also your reaction after the first flight is so recognizable. The high feels like no other :D Don't be scared with the soldering though, you won't destroy it that quick. A little bit more heat (hold the solder iron on it longer) so the wire really melts together with the pad will give a nice shiny connection.
that is some really useful info, I'll keep note of that thanks. You're so right about the high, it's unreal :D
Sweet video! As someone who started in 2016 I thought this might be a bit boring but I loved following your journey. I'll be honest, I had this vid running while fixing my own quads, because as a racer I've got a lot to fix. Gives me that feeling of nostalgia for my first time spinning up motors, first time out at an oval flying around... Impressive landing, too.
I've never used extra flux in my life - what's in the solder has always been plenty! That's a really solid setup you've got to start. It's definitely worth paying a bit more and not getting the cheapest gear.
This is motivating me to fix up my freestyle quads (I have two 5" freestyle quads, and almost 20 racers... you can figure out my priorities!)
Any quad/flying/racing questions, get in contact - myself and thousands of others out here are always happy to help. Enjoy your FPV journey :D
hahahaha 😂 thankyou, I really appreciate that
Nice build
great video, watching this gave me the confidence I needed to start my own build. 😎👍
yess! good to hear 👍
Congratulations, brother!! 🔥
thank you!
Awesome job man! 👍
thank you 👍
Congrats on your first build!! I've been flying for 4 years and still haven't built one yet.
I have however repaired them all LOL.
Best o luck 👍
haha thank you :D
Wow this is just great man
Jeremy, I thank you
your flow is real nice
thanks, the gyroflow stabilisation helps make it look really smooth
Congratulations brother - you got it done. Great maiden flight! You definitely need to watch some soldering videos, but you got it done. 😎
Oh and I almost forgot - great landing!
😅haha thanks bro
Your video creating is amazing 😍
🙏 thankyou brah
I like how bro too gentle with it
great vid mate :)
so sick Tom!
nice stuff man
love it i plannin to build the same one as you but don't have the money
Feel you buddy, after putting everything together, solder it and then the moment of truth, will it work or will it smoke when plug in the battery for the first time. Nerve-wracking moment and the relief when it work as intended. But then you head over to the field and you get nervous how will it perform, will you crash it, will it fly at all. Best hobby ever
yes! that's EXACTLY how it felt. Absolutely amazing feeling afterwards, nothing like it.
Hiya!- well footage. have a good one~
thanks, you too~
New subscriber! Great video! I think building your first fpv drone is really good. I am 16 and built my first 5 inch quad when I was 15 for only $130 USD it was pretty bad but I learned a lot in building and it gave me a boost into fpv i think. I feel bad when I watched Peter Lindgrens video, he also paints a bad picture of how FPV is. He just did not do his research and even bought a cinelifter! Great job man, hope you continue to enjoy this amazing hobby.
I love that you built a drone for only $130, learning how to build with a cheaper drone is pretty smart
Awesome video mate! Congrats! My dream is to build my own FPV drone but can't afford to buy all the parts at once 😂😭 it will take some time...
Well done and welcome to the hobby. Make sure to get yourself some Loctite for the bottom parts of your frame screws and motors!
yes, I've been recommended some Loctite from a couple others, I'll definitely get some, it's seems to be a no-brainer
@@tomyew yep for any frame screws that typically won’t be coming off and on regularly good to loctite em down 🤙🏻
love the new kid flow
i remeber the 1st time i flew fpv on 4s amazing feeling keep it up.looks like youve flew before making your 1st quad.
thankyou, I flew the Avata for like 5 minutes and have plenty of hours on the sim, but that was the first time flying a 5 inch
cheers mATE LOOKING FORWARD TO MAKING ONE
Awesome!
