XC40 recharge extended range 2024 has WLTP range of 570 km. That means in reality the car can give a combined 450km of range, which is a very good achievement and very promising. Better range than EX30. Also, model 2024 comes with 200KW capability of dc charging. So for me, the XC40 seems a car that can travel more, have more space for all passengers and that's why it costs more. EX30 brings to market a very modern designed crossover EV, which ideally could be one of the most premium options for a buyer that needs an EV for mostly moving around the city. Sometimes, less is more. Sometimes, not. Another good point for EX30 is vehicle's weight which if I'm correct is close to 1800 kg. This leads to good performance. Volvo delivers solid products with huge improvement in the design. It seems to me that right now, they are leading the SUV market with such minimal and sophisticated design. Well done Volvo!
Has the EX30 been developed as an EV only platform? I couldn't help but think the XC40 being a hybrid ICE vehicle left limitations. Quite a heavy car, not efficient as many other EVs.
@@M4rt_FX yes it's on the ev only geely designed sea platform, also shared with the zeekr x&01 model's, the smart #1&3 model's use it to. So it's a proven ev only platform with basically good to very good specs for most things ev related. Still the prices are not as low as these channels are falsely claiming them to be. South Africa lfp core model starts over 40k, Ireland is listed at over 45k for the same base base lfp rwd model with no options. A leaked U.S. only dealer price sheet showing the model's here will cost from 35-55k. Arena ev also covered the prices stated to them by a Volvo spokesperson and it matches up with the leaked us price sheet. Basically the awd perf is 52-55k that's the 3.4s 0-60mph model with glass roof&Harmon sound bar. The base no options core 214wltp range model is the one STARTING from 35k in some areas. 5k extra from there to get the next step up nmc rwd model. And 45k minimum for any awd trim model. Doa vs tesla in the states imo due to no tax credits&shorter ranges with even slower charging. 🙂
