      Did I come at him with anything other than total and complete respect for what he’s done? I don’t think there’s any doubt that I saw him as an equal by pretty much any other brand in the industry.

    KDH is one of very few guitar channels that I bother to follow these days, and, as far as I know, the only channel who does any kind of investigative studies that can help ethical consumerism for guitars. That to me is worth at least two dozen gear reviewers.

    Hi Mason, have you checked out 29 pedals it’s a new pedal company that making buffers and they seem very good quality. I just wanted to see if you had heard of them I’m interested to hear your take on them

    What has changed is people are beginning to realize that Gibson and Fender are not the kings ! Brands like Suhr , PRS , Tom Anderson and Ibanez built a way better guitar.

    • @joesatchton212
      @joesatchton212 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That, and possibly the greatest fear of huge legacy brands like Gibson and Fender, even now lifestyle company Marshall - the shifting demographics [younger gen] just don't care about that kind of gear as they're mostly irrelevant to them. Plus not ALL doctors and lawyers play guitar.

    • @micktheman6
      @micktheman6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I totally disagree I want the feel and tone of a a real vintage guitar. The closest you’ll get is fender or Gibson custom shop. The price you pay for a really good guitar of the names you mentioned is around the same cost if not more. It’s really personal taste. Gibson and fender still outsell all those companies and make great budget stuff too.

    • @JosePineda-jn8jk
      @JosePineda-jn8jk ปีที่แล้ว

      @@micktheman6there are other companies that make great vintage inspired or aged instruments at the same price or slightly lower than a real vintage Gibson or Fender and some goes for their respective custom shops.
      But as you said yourself you just want what you want so by all means go for it but, I think the point of the original post isn’t Fen/Gib don’t make good guitars, they just don’t reign as dominant as they once did because people with an open mind know their are other fantastic builders here in the states and abroad.

    • @micktheman6
      @micktheman6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JosePineda-jn8jk the guy who commented above said that those companies make better guitars. And for instance suhr makes a great quality fender but you have a bunch of modern features. That I would would say majority of players don’t like sense the vintage craze is definitely bigger I don’t like the modern specs in them. In terms of people building at scale exact replicas of the old stuff I’d say there’s no one on the market because for instance heritage is using Seymour Duncan pickups that are not nearly as sought after as pafs and many fender clones that are made from cheap allparts. They might be great for some people but objectively not the kings that he says in that comment.

    I generally like his videos, but I've come to understand that the video he did about Kahler contains a lot of blatantly false information and I also understand he's been made aware of this and given the opportunity to get correct information directly from Gary Kahler, but seems to have no interest in creating another video to correct the mistakes he made in the first one. I think his videos are well put together and interesting, but that perhaps his journalistic integrity is a bit lacking. Also FYI REXYLAB put out a video recently about Kahler's in order to help educate people and dispute a lot of the false information online.

    • @MayorMcCheese2000
      @MayorMcCheese2000 ปีที่แล้ว

      @obdacz there's a lot of blatantly false information around Kahler on the internet. An example being that Kahler somehow borrowed from Floyd Rose when that couldn't be further from the truth, because not only was Kahler way before, but Kahler actually made the Floyd products for a while... Gary Kahler is the king!

    Speaking from a more psychological, social, cultural viewpoint, do we really need people to be MORE attention-seeking online? 🤨 I myself appreciate the more in-depth, "boring" content where I learn really useful things. And I am willing to spend an hour or two on something like that. Take this show for instance, for anyone wanting to learn about rig building this is IT! This is the only show where you do that in a long form format with actual professionals. This would have been about the greatest thing since sliced bread if it had been around 20 years ago when I was still playing in bands. Don't get me wrong, as more of a bedroom rocker these days I still absolutely love this show and no one has inspired me more to build my current rig than Mason and Grant, and maybe Mick & Dan from That Pedal Show. Without them I had probably never heard of Wet/Dry/Wet which is what set me on my path to build my dream rig. A dream rig I didn't know I wanted 😂

    Is the hunger of TH-cam watchers driving companies to come up more releases. I very rarely see say Electro harmonix products in the mix in current years, which is most likely due to limited new releases but still are selling the most popular klon clone Soul Food. Companies need to put more help into the retailers websites and come up with more interactive features on the websites.
    I spend equal time or if not more on my local guitar shops websites which then drives me to TH-cam to hear what it sounds like etc
