I'm pretty sure sending a thank you email guided by your video got me the job! My interview didn't go so great, but I expressed a lot of passion for the industry and company & tried to connect with the interviewers personally. I tried to be as professional as possible and very confident. I used your story toolbox as well and I think my stories really impressed the interviewers- they were smiling ear to ear during one of them and the tone of the interview completely changed! But they still expressed a lot of concerns over my resume and lack of experience. I have only worked in restaurants, warehouses, and small businesses. But the next day after sending the thank you email, I got a job offer even though they had said they'd tell me the results in six days!!
Even with no experience, I just got a pay raise of 60% from my previous job! I am actually going to be making a livable wage for the first time in my life and the company and job is so cool !! I am so thankful you have taken your time to make these videos. You have touched so many lives. It felt like interviews were a secret before that I would never be able to succeed at. Thank you for giving me power over my job and pay!

I just want to give a huge THANK YOU because you helped both me and my sister land our first "big girl" jobs in our dream fields with benefits, good salary, and everything. We have had so many setbacks in our lives and suddenly we both get opportunity thrown in our laps at pretty much the same time.
The story -- I was prepping for my interview and found your channel. I took like 5 pages of notes, typed up all my stories/answers and made flashcards of them. My sister texts me the next day saying she got an interview coming up and if I know any resources. I link her your channel and at her interview, they ask her nearly all the questions in your playlist. She aces it!! She then has a panel interview and gets the offer days later!!
For my interview, I totally over prepared 🤣 It sounded like they were dead set on me from the start. Though they did ask me more graphic design related questions which I kinda fumbled on internally (maybe a video idea for you?). I get the job and start next month!
So THANK YOU. I felt so confident walking out of that interview

I sent my thank you email almost a full 24 hours after a phone interview. Got to do an interview with the same person, but face-to-face. He told me that in all of his years interviewing, I was the ONLY candidate who bothered to send a follow-up/thank-you email, and that I shouldn't stop doing it because it spoke volumes of professionalism and respect. So thank you for this video, and for putting the word out there! To those people who think "it won't matter if I send one," it absolutely does! And it doesn't need to be a novel, keep it short.

I've been meaning to come back here and share my experiences.
In July, I had an interview and had not prepared for them. Went to linked in and checked for clips on how to prepare for interviews, and that's when I saw your link to TH-cam. Came here and binge watched all your clips the whole night, and let me tell you, all the questions I was asked in the interview were the same questions you have made clips about. There was no question I didn't know the answer to, and it's all thanks to you.
I got the job, and I just wanted to say thank you, you are really heaven sent. It's like God had sent you to help me. May God bless you mightily❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

MADELINE YOU ARE MY EMPLOYMENT FAIRY GOD MOTHER!
So I had a phone interview at one of the best healthcare companies to work for (voted #1 3 years in a row) and I was SO ANXIOUS!
I’ve only had one formal interview my entire life besides this one and I absolutely NEEDED this job. I started watching your videos I took notes I wrote and memorized speeches and answers to questions. The first phone interview was 15 minutes and very casual and I still found myself frazzled and not as comprehensive as I’d of liked.
They scheduled a panel interview (which I’ve never done) for the NEXT DAY. I had only a few hours to prepare I was a nervous wreck but I knew I had to pull through. After the 5 days prior of prepping with your videos I had so much information to share. The 2 person panel was very casual and I was so well versed in my history at that point that I didn’t even need to reference my EXTENSIVE note system I had supplied incase I blanked or tripped up.
It was very eased, relaxed, and I felt comfortable the entire panel. The opposite of my expectations. I was hopeful as they seemed to genuinely enjoy our shared time but I was still nervous I blew the first interview. I then saw this video and sent every recruiter individualized thank you’s.
I was told they would continue interviewing through the week and I’d hear a final decision following the weeks end. Instead I woke up this morning to an immediate job offer.
The benefits and hours for this position are beyond my wildest expectations and the job is an entry level to a career I believe I can be truly happy and financially successful.
You changed my life and gave me the confidence to prepare and step out into the job force when I felt like a terrified, nervous wreck. Thank you so much. I’m so glad I saw these videos and your channel.

After my interview with the hiring manager I sent a thank you email with links to a few relevant podcasts regarding the topics we discussed. I also usually add a few bullet points as to why I'd be a good fit based on what I heard for their wants/needs and if it matches who I am/experience. Also, when I've been the one doing the interviews a handwritten note tells me that the person had to make an effort to go buy a card, most likely. THANK YOU! I am watching this video after my second interview earlier today. I had just clicked on an older video on thank you follow up's but you were asking for 19.99 :( to download some templates. I have been unemployed and I am unable to afford that. So I just signed up for the free download. I want this job more than anything, though I have another offer that I accepted. I might need your guidance on that later if I get an offer from this other company. I haven't had to face a company before where I might need to tell them I am no longer interested. I don't even want to think how that will go if I need to give them the news.
Thank you for sharing this video! :)

As a former hiring manager (now on the job hunt) , I hear a lot of discussion about the cover letter...but tbh I didn't see them for most candidates. We had a recruiting group who did see them I guess. When interviewing, I prepped exclusively by reviewing the CV so I could ask meaningful questions. What I ALWAYS saw was a thank you email and it did make a difference. SMM is absolutely correct , I received them about 25% of the time. I think the rate may be slightly higher bc I went out of my way to ensure that I shared my email with strong candidates at the end of the interview.

Thank you so much for this video. The simplicity and friendly tone of your example email really took the pressure away from me. I always try to over complicate the thank emails and it ends up delaying the process for me. Now I do not have to anymore 🙂

I actually got my newest position due to reaching out myself upon a recommendation from the RN caring for my significant other. I emailed and sent my resume as well as sent a brief letter to say who told me to, and why I was applying. I did follow up, but at the appropriate time, yes a Thank you after, then I got the 2nd Interview, this was weeks after the initial, due to they were being (Joint Commission) Inspected. I was hired within 2 weeks, giving my notice I was assured of my start date. Now I have been there nearly a month. I did very well since I am older and NOT prone to being this assertive. I didn't even wait for the job to post online.

Thank you for your video! It was exactly the information i needed, clear, concise, and well made. I appreciate your expertise. I had my first interview in 4+ years last night (in an entirely different career path). In the past, I have sent thank you cards in the mail after interviews. I still see value in hand written cards, but I watched your video to gauge the value of an email thank you. You have convinced me that it is not only appropriate but imperative. So, thank you!

I have, but there are times I don't send one - I like to use prompts during the "next steps" discussion to see if the interviewer is receptive. 50/50 . Sometimes they just don't want the email and point you to TA/HR.
I've had times where they even said they don't want the follow up email but me asking about it pushed me over the line. I remember 1 interview where they directly asked "are you probing to see if you should send a follow up email" I promptly said yes and we both laughed.

I always send thank you notes, even if the position ended up sounding like something I wasn’t looking for. You never know when you’ll meet again!
I’m wondering if sending a handwritten card rather than an email makes me into a self-aged millennial though…? Maybe it’s slow or old school, but I like the personal touch it adds!
