I really don’t get it about your highlight reel. You said “ so you’ll start with and place greater emphasis on, the most recent experience, and then go onto experience which predates that. This approach will focus on the experience that the interviewer actually cares about the most, the recent experience. And give less emphasis to earlier roles that they’re not as concerned about.” What does that mean by that? The interviewer actually cares about the most, The recent experience, they don’t care about earlier roles. How do would i answer about it?. Can you give me the example the answer the questions, please🙏🙏🙏. Because I almost interview my new job.

I actually used to have this problem really bad. I started rehearsing commonly asked interview questions and treated it like I was acting. Learn my lines, rehearse them, practice in a mirror, and then pretend I'm auditioning or performing. This was the only way to overcome my crippling one-on-one anxiety. One time I got so nervous to talk to two men in an interview (i'm a female) that they started talking and I couldn't say anything except yes sir or no sir. Since I've started doing the learning my lines thing, it has gotten much easier to answer commonly asked questions. When I'm hit with an uncommon question, or something I didn't expect, I pretend it's an improv class and just go with it.

    Real testimonial here:
Last May I was preparing for an interview with Progressive Claims.
I watched SO many of your videos and it truly helped me in EVERY way land the job with Progressive. It was the first time I had ever interviewed with the STAR or PAR format and Progressive has a very hard and competitive candidate pool.
I was told I landed the job out of almost 100 candidates.
Less than one year after starting in my role, I JUST got promoted to a Supervisor position which I had to interview for and it was way more challenging than the initial job interview. I came back to your content to study again and it helped in every way.
This promotion came with a 72% salary increase!
I am in such a strong position now to provide for my family in a way I never have been able to before and I thank YOU for all of your videos!!!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOUR CONTENT TO EVERYONE WHO IS SERIOUS ABOUT LANDING THE JOB!

      I have some questions:
      1. I’ve been rejected from about 50 interviews. (In the last one they found the excuse that I could have given more examples. There must have been 20 to 30 perfectly given interviews with no feedback at all. The feedback I got from a lot of them is that they went for another candidate).
      2. Before the pandemic it only took around 4 interviews to secure a new role
      3. I went to a top business school and have half a decade of experience working for blue chip companies
      4. *I’ve been given the advice by some corporate operatives that I could still somehow secure a role at a top company even if I’ve been unemployed for half a dozen years*
*Is it discrimination? Is it bias because there is money involved? I would just like to know what is going on as I’m being forced to retire early abroad/take a career break in the summer*.

Even though it was small, since I got fired from that position, no other place wants to hire me and it's so hard finding a job. I keep getting rejected, and rejected... its been 3 months. I have an interview tomorrow so I'm hoping I get this.

My friend says I was rejected cuz there is a better job waiting for me in the future hehe.. Please, don't be too harsh on yourself you will definitely find a job that suits you the best. Besides, with every new interview we are learning something new or at least realize what we did wrong previously. Personally I was lacking confidence during my interview and I think that's the reason why I was rejected. Idk ur story, but I wish you good luck with your tomorrow's interview and get that job already! And let me know how it goes)

I think the part where a lot of people are struggling with is that the "best example answer" usually has some form of quantifiable achievement like $ saved, sales increased by X and or winning some kind of awards. Many people do not have this kind of achievement because sometimes it's really hard to "quantify" their work and or take full ownership of the accomplishment because it's usually a team work and not an individual effort (especially in a big company and if you are entry level to junior level employee).

I don’t know if you’ll ever read this comment but your videos prepared me so much that my interviewer stopped asking behavioral type questions and we talked for an hour. This was a late Friday afternoon interview and she ended it with saying I hope I’m going to make your weekend better by offering you this position. Everything I read about this company, and its interview process was long and tedious, mine was a two step and hired. I credit you for a lot of it, you gave me the confidence and prepared me to take this on, thank you.

Interviewers are terrible at asking questions, they ask one question and expect you to answer a different one. If you want to know about the aplicant's education just ask "whats your education?" , if you want to know what companies they worked at just ask "what companies did you work at?". Its really that simple

Madeline, you SAVED me omg. I'm currently a uni student so this was my 2nd interview of my life and I was so unprepared. I came across your videos and they helped me so much. I felt better about my answers and your encouragement really helped me feel less insecure. Got an email 5 days later and I have my very first design internship with my university! I am so happy beyond words and I thank you for the content you provide. I will definitely keep using your techniques from now on 😄

She really knows what she’s talking about, and she makes it easy for you to display your best talents. Thank you so much girl!!

I'm trying to teach others and I've always gotten the job. 😂 However when they say, "Tell me about yourself..." I always tell them about all of my experience in the field, about my family, and things I love. I definitely talk a lot but people seem to like it. 😅 Now I feel like I have to go back and tell my students not to talk about their family and things they love.

I am a hiring manager and confirm she is correct about going from meeting to meeting, topic to topic, and sometimes review a resume 2 minutes or less before I decide I want to interview someone and usually brush up within seconds of the interview. I rarely ask someone this question. Instead I ask,”what is it about this role that interested you in this position”?

Many comments here profess that these tips and teachings have landed people jobs. While I am grateful to read about these testimonials, and genuinely happy for those who have succeeded, I think it’s still important to recognize and embrace the possibility of failure. I for one have watched these videos religiously, and have followed all of these tips and tricks to a “T” and yet still have been passed up after interviews. I’ve seen colleagues of lesser skill, intelligence, ambition, etc. succeed well before me, and that just doesn’t seem fair. I’m here to say that although you may follow these guidelines well, you still may fail. And that’s OK. Keep at it.

This is perfect. As a recruiter, I often speak with such intelligent people with such great technical abilities. However, I find that those people are not always the best in conversation and social selling. Interviewing is about selling yourself. A laundry list of skills and abilities is great, but you always want to know how to sell yourself to the company. After all, they are looking to pay YOU! Sell your skills, passions, ambitions, and make sure you make it clear what's in it for them and what they gain by hiring you. What they gain is how you solve their problems or make them and their offerings better!

    Hi Madeline Mann,
The 3 steps formula to answer interview questions (especially, tell me about yourself) helped me a lot throughout my job searching days! Using your suggestions and 3 steps formula, I have created a thorough interview questions-answers sheet and easily prepared almost every interviews accordingly. It feels great to inform that I have managed to get an offer and your videos gave me confidence. Even though I had to face the interview in a different language, which is my third language and I have been learning it for almost 2 years!
All I want to say, Thank you for your amazing work! Keep up your good work and spirit! You are helping people. It matters!
