This is a really nice thing of Hardware. I might buy it. One question; could i connect 3 extra DT50S Triggers and record 4 midi tracks to a Computer at one? The one from the kick, one Snare and two toms?
Im not sure you can add-on 3, if that's what you're after you might as well trigger up a whole kit... Here's my take on it using a 8"tom, 14 floor, snare and tiny bass.. SONAR AQ-2 Martini! It's a hybrid of Microphones, two triggers and a couple of extra ports, I use a Yamaha PAD as a second tom, it supports various rim shots too, Roland percussion touch sensitive single pad with claps by the hat. Firstly, the configuration screens are awkward, that's being polite, but they do work in scenes, triggers etc... Second, and probably the best feature are omni mics, man they seem to have come straight out of a Panasonic professional camera, they're that good! The microphones don't pickup the cymbals, but the toms pack a huge punch, along with capturing analogue of the triggered snare, you soon feel like you're kit has turned god mode! Anyone that hasn't already invested heavily in mics to rig up, then this is a no brainer. Hear -> th-cam.com/video/uwZ31aSZd0M/w-d-xo.html (Pardon the pun and plug)
Hey Yamaha! Thank you for the awesome product review! I just had a question in regard to having the click in the video. I understand that the app will do a count off click and you can have a click while you play to a song, but if I were to upload that video to a social media platform, would the click be embedded in the track, or is there a way to play along with the click and then take it out in the final video. Hope that question makes sense. Thank you!
Did you ever figure this out? I believe you can, I had the same question of can you trigger the kick to a specific cleaner tone other than the room. It grabs batter head response pretty well by default too.
Hello I have a question will this affect the voiceover on my iPhone I became blind around October 2019 and I’m just wondering will the effect of voiceover on my iPhone thanks sorry I meant to say October 2018 I became blind
The microphones are embedded inside the BASS kick component. A small kick puts them very low down, away from voice etc. Our monitor speakers are up high and while the microphones do pickup transient sound in the room, you really have to push the gain to get them to feed back. We have an EAD10 in a tiny bedroom with the DAW pumping out backing tracks .. so I don't think it will mind narrators or voiceovers
Really cool stuff I wanna get one of these Just one doubt Does the module also act as a monitor ( output) speaker or is it mandatory to connect an external amplifier or headphones???
I'm very interested in buying this, my only concern is I play a pretty big kit with a Rack, and also my ride only sits about 4 inches directly above my bass drum...would that effect it picking up the rest of the kit and if so could I place the censor unit in a different place? Thanks
Just got mine. I'm playing with all zildjian K cymbals and they sound really harsh . I've moved them further away and they still hurt when listening to the playback. Any suggestions? Thank you, looking forward to learning more
I'm happy with the natural acoustic sound of my drums but since I'm not a heavy hitter I would like to amp up my volume without hauling more equipment around. Can these be used with powered speakers for that purpose? I currently mike my bass drum but would like to beef up the sound of the rest of the kit. I have speakers that I use with a Roland VAD306 for home practice so won't overload the PA vocals. Hesitate using the VAD for live as am leary about the electronics failing halfway through a gig. Seen enough of that happening to guitarists.
My phone is a Samsung Note 20...it has no ⅛ phones input jack. Everything's Bluetooth. How do I use my phone that cost over $1,000 with this? Please tell me you thought of that and there's Bluetooth or something... please 🙏 This is cool...a little pricey considering all the extra add on costs. COST...IF THE COST OF THIS WAS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN WHAT PEOPLE ARE PAYING NOW TO ACHIEVE SIMILAR RESULTS, THIS WOULD BE IN EVERY DRUMMERS BAG...THIS WOULD ME LIKE AN SM58/57 OR D'Adario strings, or Moongels....everyone has and uses those things almost by default. If the cost of production could come down enough for the street price to = something like $299-$349 for the base unit, and maybe $599 for a package with ALL the accessories so you wouldn't have to look through a list of accessories and all that hassle ... I'm telling you, this would be as popular as studio rings. People would by 2, just for backup, or to keep at another location, or really, just cause they could. Just an opinion. I'm impressed with the unit.

As for MIDI, it's a Yamaha, use it with a decent daw and it always works. Haven't checked the MIDI settings though, I record stereo into a Roland MX-1

Hey Jordan, the 'Click' is generated by the app - and is not embedded in the drum or music audio track.
2:10 The Collins thing.
ROCKIN 🎼🎶🎹🥁🥁
This is a genius invention holy crap. Does anyone know if I could just trigger my bass drum to get high response for double pedal also?

@@Calibur43 this device is definitely next on my list of things i need to buy
@@ronytomano Yeah, I just need to find one lol.
@@Calibur43 haha
cool, are the recordings multitrack? or 1 file?
Only seeing this used with 1 up, 1 down kits. How would this work with three rack toms + two floors?
Is it possible to only trigger the bass drum without picking up the rest of the kit?
Hello I have a question will this affect the voiceover on my iPhone I became blind around October 2019 and I’m just wondering will the effect of voiceover on my iPhone thanks sorry I meant to say October 2018 I became blind
I’m planning on getting a Yamaha EAD10 soon. I can test whether it will affect voiceover. Is there anything specific I should test?

I wanna get one of these
Just one doubt

Doubt it - if it did it would be an awfully small speaker. You'll most likely need an external source.
SUPR COOL BRO 🎼🎶🎶🥁🥁🎸🎸
can this product apply to a bigger , 8 piece kit?
Does anyone play live gigs with this? I assume you can just run a cable from the EAD10 out to a PAboard?
I believe Buckcherry's drummer uses them. If i remember, I saw his fb post and he was performing live and the audio on the video was from the EAD10.

I'd love to see how it would work with traps drums
You mean hear.. and you won't be disappointed

How to connect my mg16xu to my computer using usb when even i install the driver it says they need a signed driver from yamaha
make acoustic drum sound electric......bravo

Can it help my drummer show up to the gig on time! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 😝😀😝😀😝😀😝😝😝
Impossible and I'm a drummer 🤣
