It's not so much politeness as distance. You generally use "vous" with everyone that you are not close with. True, it can also express respect/politeness (with a teacher or a parent for instance) but in most cases and here too, it's just because they don't know each other. With Saruman for example, "vous" means respect. I don't think it's the case here ^^
I would say, it's more like: You are not coming through here! ... I think, besides the the English version, Hungarian and German ones are the best, they match the lip-movements guite good, and sound almost as epic as the original. :)

Persian and French actually sound like a spell
Probably because Persian was the language of the Magis. The world 'magic' itself comes from this. I guess Orient language were used for spells by alchemists or basic writers for their novels.

2:46 you know the French are polite people when they adress their enemies with the polite form of “you” (vous)
Here it's used to complement the distance that exists between the characters.
Respect your enemies ;)
It's not so much politeness as distance. You generally use "vous" with everyone that you are not close with. True, it can also express respect/politeness (with a teacher or a parent for instance) but in most cases and here too, it's just because they don't know each other. With Saruman for example, "vous" means respect. I don't think it's the case here ^^

I would say, it's more like: You are not coming through here! ... I think, besides the the English version, Hungarian and German ones are the best, they match the lip-movements guite good, and sound almost as epic as the original. :)
