Without saying a word Orlando Bloom really conveys that Legolas feels betrayed by Theoden that they won't search for Aragorn and that he REALLY wants to search for him himself. And Theoden's pause shows he understands that but that HIS people come first.

Legolas was already in shooting range and doing damage. Why did he have to charge to the front with the rest of the cavalry? It seems his bow could do more damage staying where he was.

Some of my favorite moments in this scene; 1. Aragorn & Théoden riding side by side in the charge. 2. Legolas checks to make sure Gimili is alright after his unceremonious dismount. 3. The Three Hunters doing their best to cover each other in a chaotic situation. 4. After dispatching an opponent Théoden has the awareness to notice the Warg coming up behind him, turn & stab it in the mouth in such a way it'll be a killshot

@@leonardobraynen1524 No I am not crazy. Aragorn was a descendant of Elendil the Tall, who is also a descendant of Elros, the twin brother of Elrond (who was literally immortal and lived thousands of years). Elros chose to be mortal. I love the way the first reaction when the group is aware of the attack is to protect the women and children which in reality is what happen. Actually everything about this scene is class. Even the bit ot steel sticking the wargs skull together who "killed" Aragon is class.
This whole sequence is vital to seeing the leader that Theoden is without Wormtongue around: A very effective warrior (4:00) who is perfectly willing to risk himself, and a guy who makes multiple difficult decisions (keeping Eowyn in reserve, leaving the dead behind). The Aragorn fake-death thing seems a bit unnecessary, because this is about seeing Theoden in action for the first time.
what I liked especially about this scene is that they made the common Rohan soldiers look capable and fearless. A very big contrast to how weak and helpless they made the gondorian soldiers in ROTK
What I love about LOTR is the extras don't feel like NPCs. You see the Riders of Rohan killing Wargs as well as the heroes. It makes it more realistic.
Gimli: “…he fell” Éowyn: “…you mean he died?!?” Gimli: “No, he slipped on a warg dump and fell to the ground. But he got up again a second later, he’s over there”
Impressive Gimli was able to remove two Wargs and an Orc off of him then claimed another Warg after Legolas/Aragorn took out the ones he was going to kill.

Goosebumps everytime
1:58 Aragorn looks like a dream saviour here.
At 1:47 it looks like the horse is talking instead of Gimli.
King Theoden was a savage.
These movies aged like fine wine.
One of my greatest scenes ever i can't ever get tired of watching it❤❤❤💯💯💯
Gotta be my most favorite movie sequence ever
The Legolas horse mounting doesn't look as janky as I thought back then. Looks pretty clean!
This movie is so good.!!there is no other movies like this ever..!!everything seem real
2:22 My dad still hate that scene with Legolas 😅.
He keeps saying it's impossible to swing your body that way!
He dosn't understand it's a movie or that Legoas is an elf who can do things all others can't do 😉.
Wait till your dad learns about apache warriors
Have him rewatch the scene where Legolas is walking on top of snow while everyone else is trudging through it.
Cowboys still do that.
Let's just incur magic and say FU completely to Physics.
That's not Legolas doing cool stuff, it's a VFX team that made a mistake.
2:12 I never noticed that after Legolas kills the Warg, its rider gets trampled by the next one
Whoa. Great find, never seen that in hundreds of rewatches of this scene!
1:54 when music kicks in… bro. Epic af
Damn, if they had a few more elves in company there wouldn’t be a need for anyone else.
Legolas have no right of looking this good, I mean he's still my favorite char but dude he's sooooooo coooollllll!
This movie is one of the best movies of the of the year
Coming in 2nd place only to Achilles, Aragorn's, spear throw was incredible.
Aragorn was basically the John Wick of the Middle Earth. He will carve Achilles into pieces considering he’s also Numenorian.
@@deeperthrill90 I agree 💯
@@deeperthrill90you on freeakin dope if you believe Aragorn can even breathe on Achilles!!!
Are you absolutely crazy????!
@@leonardobraynen1524 No I am not crazy. Aragorn was a descendant of Elendil the Tall, who is also a descendant of Elros, the twin brother of Elrond (who was literally immortal and lived thousands of years). Elros chose to be mortal.
So technically Aragorn is half human half elf. Blessed with long life and superb sword skills. And you know how badass elves were portrayed in the movies
I didn’t understand your point.
I love the way the first reaction when the group is aware of the attack is to protect the women and children which in reality is what happen. Actually everything about this scene is class. Even the bit ot steel sticking the wargs skull together who "killed" Aragon is class.
Legolas:
Casually 1 shots a worg rider from 200 feet away.
Then flips onto a moving horse using one arm.
One of the best for the greatest movie ever made.
What I love about LOTR is the extras don't feel like NPCs. You see the Riders of Rohan killing Wargs as well as the heroes. It makes it more realistic.
I can never get tired of this scene
5:33 Legolas is usually so chill but when he thinks Aragorn's dead he turns into Alonzo Harris
The men of the west saved the world we love from darkness ✊🏽 greatest story of our time. Fantasy died with man fighting for the age of men
The music is soo good, masterpieces every movie
Gimli's funnest moment when he is under the warg. 3:58
Gimli snapped that Orc's neck like it was a twig.
LeGOATlas
leGOATlas indeed. I mean look at that 2:22 .
I totally agree
AraGOAT
@@xaviermcknight1510uhhhh no.
😅
Before we had TH-cam videos to watch over and over we all spent $150 that month to rewatch scenes like this is the theatre.
Gimli: “…he fell”
Éowyn: “…you mean he died?!?”
Gimli: “No, he slipped on a warg dump and fell to the ground. But he got up again a second later, he’s over there”
Hail Theoden King! 👑
Every side character be like 3:24
Apparently Aragorn & Legolas's super fantastic & amazing in this scene.
Most best movie of the earth ❤
Orlando bloom can play a great character. He is good. I like him as an elf and a pirate.
Una de las mejores trilogías de peliculas epicas de tipo mediaval que e visto ❤❤❤❤❤
pov you're a noldor warrior in prophesy of pendor
Imagine: Men actually bravely protecting women and children, instead of becoming them!
Gimli overshooting the saddle was a great touch
Theoden arriving at Helm's Deep was the first scene Miranda and Bernard filmed
Impressive Gimli was able to remove two Wargs and an Orc off of him then claimed another Warg after Legolas/Aragorn took out the ones he was going to kill.
Orlando as Legolas: 👍
Orlando as Hector's brother in Troy: 🤮
LoL Gimli 😂😂😂😂
1:58 the scene and the music go so well. I really like the calvary riding the horse and the flag. In this film, I like Rohan more than Gondor because of the calvary
Lord of The rings RULES❤❤❤💪😎
It’s funny how the CGI looks quite bad in today’s world but at the time looked amazing
