@Eyblast Well, technically, you are correct, Scania is nowadays owned by Volkswagen, it's true. However, Scania was founded as a swedish truck manufacturer, is the last surviving remnant of the SAAB partnership that is still up and running and even the name "Scania" is litterally the old-school name of the swedish province of Skåne (The griffin is the coat-of-arms for that same province). The owners may change like the seasons, but the company itself is swedish through-and-through.

xTH3xMoDsZx also what I noticed is that the Volvo engine maxes out at 2000 rpm where the Scania maxes out at 2500 rpm. From personal experience, the Allison (in second gear) tries to reach 2500 rpm in the Volvo but when it reaches 2000 rpm, it lags out until you either let off the throttle for it to shift or wait for it to which takes a couple seconds. But in the Scania, it reaches 2500 rpm in second gear.

Did anyone notice that the Volvo driver was clearly using a keyboard to steer (with the sudden jolting steering wheel) and the Scania wasn't. This means that the adaptive automatic transmission didnt know how hard the pedal was being pressed on the volvo (because it was an on/off button) so it may not have been in the most appropriate gear. I reckon that if you use keyboard, the game assumes that you are flooring it, but does not drop it down a gear like when you use pedals at full throttle. I reckon this may be why the Scania won!

A thing to note. Apart from what other users have noted about the shifting differences. The Volvo engines in the game don’t have torque curves assigned to them so it’s using the game default torque curve which is inaccurate for the engine, the new Scania S does have a proper torque curve assigned. If we take a look at both Volvo’s latest D16 engine and Scania’s latest V8 performance is very similar between both engines. The bigger difference would be on the transmission and final gearing of both trucks. In the end you can’t go wrong with either one, but if you want a more realistic depiction of the Volvo engines you should look at mods that actually give the engines proper torque curves. I think there was one in the Steam Workshop called Volvo driveline revision or similar. In my case I created my own personal mod by looking at torque charts for the engines that are actually supposed to go in the FH and not the old Euro5 engines copied from the old FH16 that SCS did.
@@lifooz2955 I checked again and no, the engines still have no torque curves assigned to them. You’re still better off using an engine mod if you want an accurate engine behavior for the Volvo trucks.

I feel like the left lane is slightly more loped than the right lane as the rematch on the first race the Volvo was in the left lane and won after loosing in the right lane
There are two problems with the test. One is why scania does not use the S730 with a high cab (Volvo has a high cab). The power of D16G750 reached its peak of 750 horsepower at 1800 RPM and began to drop sharply. At 2000 RPM, it was only 300 horsepower. In the test, Volvo did not change gear until it ran out of oil.

Great video. I actually was driving on Volvo's for a long time, but moved to Scania not because of any gearbox/engine but because of how much I love the look of the Scania interior (GPS, Windshield size and Dashboard layout are perfect). They're evenly matched overall for power imho.
yes i hear what you say but it might have a shit engine thats not able to do the job so the thing with trucks are you need a nice interior but also look for a good engine that packs the punch as well
Look we also use scania and volvo mercedes bens for general moving for heavy jobs we use freightliner we dont have mack at all in our country cannot buy a mack because we dont have them here
In the 61ton test the Volvo wasn't skipping any gears, the transmission was set to power mode, unlike the scania which was holding gears for longer, this is very unfair
Both are pretty much equal IMO. I prefer the Scania for its bold design, looks like a beefy viking ready to show who's the boss! I started with the Scania (don't remember the model), and it has NEVER let me down. Yes I admit it is a bit sluggish when going on up hill on the highway, pulling a bulldozer, but I upgraded it. I still drive it, and I wish to get the 8x4 Scania! Volvo is not bad, honestly. VERY powerful, Volvo seems to put more emphasis on utility power, getting the job done. But the design is boring, and it seems more appealing to buy for the drivers, not the actual players themselves. Imo
I get what you say the Scania feels like more modern nearly. It has like and effortlessly power. But the Volvo has this more traditional truck drag to it. I love testing them getting up to 95-100mph heading from Germany to Scandinavia.
Nice test but I'd change a way it was done. 1) I'd make 4 races per trailer option: 2 tests with 1st driver using Scana, 2nd driver using Volvo then switch. This would eliminate driving style differences. Also I'd switch lines and use exactly the same track. 2) I'd make also tests with sequence and full realistic manual using dedicated Scania/Volvo gearboxes. 3) I'd add also break test (how fast from high speed to full stop) and stability test (how fast you can go without tipping on corners) 4) While driving I'd turn on for both drivers NAV GUI 5) I'd compare also fuel usage (each race reset statistics and check fuel usage at finish) Also I'd add comment on pros/cons of interior focusing on dashboard. Why I'd add this? I'm playing ETS on triple monitor setup or VR (depending on my mood) and dashboard look is very important in those setups, especially on triple monitor, as my screen is around 1m away from my eyes. I know it's old test so maybe You've changed it in newer ones, but this way it'd be nice to have a retest (especially that some of game engine has changed)
I like your videos. They're very well edited, and you have a good format to show the features, in this case of both trucks. May I suggest a comparison between each truck within a similar price range? I mean, like, do a comparison between the trucks you can buy with a low budget, or compare all the 8x4 trucks available... It would be great material for us.
@@Team_Reaper. yes. They pulled 750tonnes a few meters. And? Has scania tried? No. They dont need to show off. There are several videoes showing the 730 pulling away from volvo 750. And now scania has 770 and thats even more powerful
Congrats on making an ETS2 video I actually watched to the end. If you monetized this video, you'll get your fraction of a cent from my watching it all. But the whole time I was thinking _"It's not about the horsepower, but the transmission."_ With a better transmission, the Volvo will smoke that Scania every time...
I had a tip from a real scania driver worked since 1980s , he told me that scania is the best truck because it's the most powerful one especially on hilly road and doesn't coast or body roll like Mercedes actros or Volvo in detours Volvo is better when it comes to safety features like collision warning or something

my top 3 favorite trucks are
1. scania
2. mercedes
3. daf
TheYeeter my favorite:
1.Scania
2.Volvo
3. Mercedes
4. DAF
Do you think SCS has fixed the torque for the Volvo trucks now 3 years later?
/L
@@lifooz2955 I checked again and no, the engines still have no torque curves assigned to them. You’re still better off using an engine mod if you want an accurate engine behavior for the Volvo trucks.

I'am a Volvo driver and I love the Volvo but both have their pros and cons thats just so there are no real winners in my opinion because they are the top dogs among the European trucks - both are super trucks
I feel like the left lane is slightly more loped than the right lane as the rematch on the first race the Volvo was in the left lane and won after loosing in the right lane

Scania V8 forever!!! :D
On a serious note, kudos to Volvo engineers for getting that much power from an I6.

I just choose the truck with the nicest interior and dashboard
Yes XD how you should
yes i hear what you say but it might have a shit engine thats not able to do the job so the thing with trucks are you need a nice interior but also look for a good engine that packs the punch as well
@@amandabooysen1872 bro that's why upgrades exist

who ever is driving volvo doesnt know how to that thing is powerful it seems like this video was made for scania
Volvo is on automatic
That one on the right can't get up, he always gets up at night
5:00 You must be joking. Scania paid you for this test? What about 5th gear? :D
Both use auto box
but manual is good i also use manual in ets 2
In the test they use auto box though.
It was uphill, so automat stays at 4th gear.

Despite all the tests, my heart lies with Scania R❤️
What's the difference between s and r?
@@jeffu73 in performance none. However the R is shorter in hight than the S model.
@@V0idrunn3r28 Thx
Nice test but I'd change a way it was done.
1) I'd make 4 races per trailer option: 2 tests with 1st driver using Scana, 2nd driver using Volvo then switch. This would eliminate driving style differences. Also I'd switch lines and use exactly the same track.
2) I'd make also tests with sequence and full realistic manual using dedicated Scania/Volvo gearboxes.
3) I'd add also break test (how fast from high speed to full stop) and stability test (how fast you can go without tipping on corners)
4) While driving I'd turn on for both drivers NAV GUI
5) I'd compare also fuel usage (each race reset statistics and check fuel usage at finish)
Also I'd add comment on pros/cons of interior focusing on dashboard.
I love how calm and smooth the Volvo is driving and how hard the Scania is trying.
doesnt really matter, the scania har more power in the real world too, you will end up first in a uphill battle
