The JW version of the Bible was supposedly transcribed from Greek. The problem is that the man who did it didn't speak, read or write Greek. That was proven in court. The Watchtower Organization goes to great lengths to prevent it's members from discovering this. Reading the Bible by yourself is frowned on. And many other tactics to stop the pursuit of truth. In short it's a cross between a publishing company and a cult. There are also well engineered financial ploys to keeping the believers in line. Plus heavy punishment for acting on one's own. Such as a strict form of shunning. This is both financial and social. Like I said, this is a cult. And the cult comes before God.

It's very hard to explain Colossians 1 correctly, using the word "God". One must first understand Elohim, and then explain it, and then explain from there. Otherwise, it's a no go for many.

Agreed. As a former Jehovah’s Witness, who has moved to another level of Christianity and attends a Bible-based church, I LOVED to see to see this. We’re actually a lot more alike than these young ministers (e.g. all four of them) realize. They all portrayed the fruitages and spirit of the true God. Indeed, the identifying mark of a “true Christian.”
Jehovah's Witnesses are Unitarian Christians like the Apostles. A person who believes in the Roman Church's doctrine of the Trinity cannot call himself a Christian.

However, I'm not up for that type of Bible discussion and find it futile as it accomplishes nothing good.
I spent most of my life KNOWING I had "the Truth" and spent countless hours having bible discussions from door-to-door, on street corners and in homes, etc., proving that "anyone who knows the Bible KNOWS...." I no longer find the need to prove to anyone that I'm one who KNOWS the Bible. "Knowledge puffs up...but LOVE builds up...." 1Co. 8:1.
Jesus said that you will KNOW his people by the fruit they display. So, that's where my focus and joy lies . Matt. 7:15-20.

Wife’s family is catholic and militant. Refuse to read the Bible. Just whatever church teaches. Constantly say we (anyone including them as non priests) are not qualified to interpret scripture.

At 6:25 the JW woman says "we're not here to step on anyone's toes or CONVERT anyone." As a born in JW for 37 years, I'd use that line on people all the time. I pray for these sweet ladies. I do pray they read Romans 3,4,5 and Hebrews 1. The Gospel of Grace...the undiluted GOOD NEWS is so healing and beautiful. (I was marked as an apostate by the JW religious leaders last year. I am shunned, but I am free. I am adopted by God now. #grace)

Now comes the Deuteronomy reference. I agree there too. The Lord our God is one God. But the trinity is defined as one God with three distinct persons.
For the deity of Jesus; How do you refute Jesus' own words when he said in john 10:30, "I and the father are one."? he himself said he is one with God the father, as a single God with distinct persons. When Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 9:6 he said the son that would be born would be called "everlasting Father, mighty God..." Jesus' name "Immanuel" means "God with us." Jesus is clearly God, and there is immeasurable amounts of scripture to prove it. (Philippians 2:5-8; is another.)
For the Holy Spirit: When peter opened his letter, he distinctly mentioned all three persons of the Godhead (1 Peter 1:1-2). hen Jesus was baptized, the Father said "this my son..." but at the same time, the Holy Spirit of God descended like a dove onto Jesus. Again, Thank you for your response.

I have family members that are JW, I don't subscribe to any particular denomination, but I guarantee you I have read more of the Bible than they have, multiple times. Read the word with the holy Spirit as guidance and you will find your way

It’s not that far off from anyone who does a little research. However, Jeff is wrong in his explanations. For example, when he says firstborn means preeminent that is not what the original Greek meant. The Greek Proto-tokos literally means what the Bible says. Proto means first or only, as in prototype. Tokos means to bring forth or give birth to.
The “preeminent one” definition was added as an alternate definition to appease people who pushed the trinity doctrine because they needed an alternate definition in order to keep claiming what they had been saying.
The other Greek word for only-begotten is the same thing. Mono-genes. Mono meaning one or only as is monochromatic, mononucleosis, monogamous, monorail, etc. and genes, guess what, is like what it sounds like. Think about when someone says “brown eyes are in his genes”. Genes means to beget, which means to father or to bring forth. As in the King hopes to beget a son as an heir. So only-begotten literally means that Jesus was the only being directly created by God.
Proverbs 8:22-30 show that Jehovah created Jesus as the beginning of His way, and verse 30 shows that after being created, Jesus then worked alongside God as a master worker, helping create everything else.
Colossians 1:15 & 16 make perfect sense. Jesus is the image of His father, the invisible God. He is the firstborn of all creation and through him (Jesus) all things (besides himself), so, all other things, were created.

There is more than one spirit being used to preach. Just because you feel the spirit doesn't make it holy. Just because you believe the spirit has opened your eyes to the truth doesn't mean you should disregard scriptures that clearly contradict your beliefs and feelings.
Everyone is afraid to say I don't know to questions these days like they should have all the answers. Nobody has all the answers but God. And he doesn't tell us everything. Only what we need to know, which is who and what to love and why we should love and when we should love. It is the greatest commandment.
We should focus more on that love than our own personal pursuits. And let go of the animosity and hatred. It says to hate what is bad, but it also says there are those who take the bad as good and the good as bad, those who take bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
We need to search hard and long before we make hasty presumptions about any other faith. Who is right and who is wrong.
Who is putting their love first? What is that love? Is it the focus of their lives? Where did they learn this love or gain this experience and wisdom for love? What is your love? Extract the rafter before you can see clearly to help others!!!

What is the true meaning of Jesus and the gospel?
John 3:16 tells us that God loved the world so much that he gave His only-begotten son so that people might live. Why was that sacrifice necessary?
1 John 4:9 tells us we can gain life through God’s only-begotten son.
What life? We already have life. What did Jesus teach about? What was his gospel?
At Matthew 6:9-10 Jesus taught us things we should pray for in the model prayer. First was the sanctification of God’s name. Why would that be necessary?
Jeremiah 23:27 shows that by means of false prophets and false gods, Satan tries to get people to forget about the true God, His name and who He is.
Deuteronomy 4:35 American Standard Version
35 Unto thee it was showed, that thou mightest know that Jehovah he is God; there is none else besides him.
What else was Jesus gospel about? He also taught us to pray for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth. What is that Kingdom? What is God’s will for the earth?
Daniel 2:44 tells us the time will come when God will destroy all the kingdoms (governments) of the earth amd establish His Kingdom.
Revelation 21:3-4 tells us at that time there will be no more pain or death.
Psalms 37:11 & 29 tell us the meek and righteous people will live forever in peace on earth.
Matthew 28:19-20 and Matthew 24:14 show that Jesus gospel was to spread the good news about God’s kingdom to everyone.
Who are the ones teaching about the true God, Jehovah? It’s not these pastors who are teaching a false doctrine like the trinity.
Who are the ones teaching the same gospel as Jesus, about God’s Kingdom and His purpose for the earth? It’s not these pastors who are preaching about heaven and hell who don’t even think about God’s purpose for creating the earth and mankind.
I would say these sisters are already on the narrow path Jesus talks about at Matthew 7:13-14. Most people follow what is easy and popular without doing any study on their own.
Matthew 24:36-42 Jesus tells us to keep on the watch for the sign of his presence because the time will be like the days of Noah, people won’t care and will be living life, until Armageddon comes and it will be too late for them to jump on board.
They have found the truth, u can see it through their humbleness. They walk by faith not by sight like Pentecostal do

I think that it is wonderful when people with different views can really listen respectfully. While I agree with the male pastor, I am very, very impressed with these young women. Without the knowledge of the Greek language, the Bible can often be very difficult to understand fully. I read the Bible daily and have a college education, but it is by reading and by listening to pastors (such as these young men) that often these passages become more meaningful.
Well surprising mostly since both groups seemed indoctrinated pretty heavily . But I'd say since both believe in alot in comen . But if you ever feel a theist that God is not real . Lol well expect someone to cry and scream

I was baptized at 14 at the Dodgers stadium...and am so happy that I got free from that cult at 18. So happy God showed me who He is in 1986...when He sent 2 JWs to our very secluded house and was led to just read the book of John from beginning to end. I was also baptized at the Dodge Stadium. I left too. We were not taught anything about Jesus only Jehovah. I have been anointed by the Holy Spirit and I am only grateful for their foundation. I study and meditate on HIS word daily. My mom is still a JW and she has never experienced the HOLY SPIRIT in her life and she's 95 years old.

So at 18 you knew it all? What part of John helped you see that “Jesus is Lord”? Was it John 1:14 where we see that Jesus had a glory as that of an only-begotten son from a Father?
Or verse 18 that clearly explains that no one has seen God at any time, but the only-begotten god, Jesus, who is at the Father’s side, is the one who explained God to us?
Or is it John 2:16-18 that clearly show Jesus is God’s son, His only-begotten son?
Was it perhaps John 3:35 that tells us the Father loves the son and has given all things into his hand?
Perhaps it was John 5:19-38 where Jesus discussed being sent by his Father and doing his Father’s will?
Was it John 6:27 that tells us that the Father, God himself, puts his approval on or verses 38-40 where Jesus explains that he came down from heaven, not to do his own will, but to do the will of his Father, who sent him?
Maybe John 8:42 where Jesus said that he came from God. Or, verses 53-59 where Jesus explains that he existed in heaven before Abraham’s day and that his Father bears witness about him?
Yes, the entire book of John shows Jesus explaining over and over to the people and the Pharisees that he was sent by God, his Father, that he was here to do his Father’s will and that he came to sacrifice himself for mankind and die for our sins. Jesus is Lord, but he showed repeatedly that he is subject to His God and Father, Jehovah. (John 20:17)

They confuse old covenant works (circumcision, feasts, animal sacrifice) with obedience to Christ. Obedience Christ is not a work of the old covenant law. Christ brought us the new covenant. To be saved you absolutely must obey Christ. If you aren't obeying Christ then you haven't made him your Lord. True faith must produce the fruit of obeying/following Christ, else it's dead faith. **

Well. In my personal opinion and based on my experience. You can't just throw all of the laws to Some one you are evangelizing to. It will definitely stir up a fight or push away the other person. Instead, slowly follow up with love and show them those verses when you invite them to fellowship. What's most important is a personal relationship with God. The most common is that of the Catholic teachings. Now during the 3rd & 4th Century C.E the Roman Emperor Constantine had converted to Christianity because he had witnessed the Sun in a Shape of a Cross and searched for answers and found Christianity to be his chosen Religion. During his reign he included his Christian faith within his Political affairs. And he and the Nicaea Council inducted many philosophical teachings including the Trinitarian Doctrine, the Cross to symbolize and promote Christianity when the bible clearly states not to use Symbols or worship Idols(Idolatry), The Sabbath being on a Sunday instead of Saturday when the Bible mentions the Sabbath being on the 7th day of the week not the 1st (Exodus 16 : 25-30). Now you see, a lot of what has been taught around the world is the Beliefs of Constantine's Philosophies and his orders to change the System of Beliefs(Creeds) with the Nicaea Council were final, and the Bishops who opposed his beliefs had no say in it. Before Constantine's ruler-ship During the 2nd siege of Jerusalem in the 1st Century C.E, the Israelite's(Gods true Followers) fled the city before Titus and his army had arrived(Luke 21 : 20-24). And the Israelite's had with them the Original Bible Manuscripts containing Gods Name, which is the four letter Hebrew word יהוה (Tetragrammaton) "YHWH" Yahweh, or Jehovah in English. The Pharisees(Rabbis) had destroyed all other copies of the Original Bible Manuscripts, and ordered Scribes to write new ones but replacing Gods name with "LORD". For example ISAIAH 42 : 8 says "I am LORD, your GOD". LORD is not a name, it is a TITLE. Due to the Pharisees implementing the "Fence Laws" they refused to Proclaim Gods name to the nations. You see what you have learnt today is mostly the Bible beliefs of the Roman Catholics, and being that most Christians have similar beliefs to Catholics its a majority rules. True Christian Teachings is a lot deeper than you think, but whats important is to Follow the Bible Principles and apply them within our daily lives.

I am Muslim and I quoted you some verses from the Bible proving that Jesus had never claimed to be God. He said in John 17:3 the ONLY TRUE GOD IS THE FATHER. He does not know the hour (resurrection day). He said he cannot do anything on his own. Does that sound like god? ???? No it does not. Read the Quran and don't go to mosque. Just read it the way you read the Bible and you will see the truth. That's the only advice that I can give you. If you are sincere in searching the truth, I promise you will find it. I appreciate the reference to Galatians 1:8. I have read the Bible from cover to cover but glossed over that. I had often been curious about what happens to religions that include Jesus, but that verse and those that follow lay it out pretty plainly. Good work!

But looking at their most recent article on their website (2017) it sounds like they're not saying IUDs are bad, but just "potentially" bad. That's still deeply problematic, to be sure. But I wouldn't go as far as saying they "believe in abortion". They just don't stand against it as accurately and strongly as they should if they really believe that is is murder. Don''t get me wrong - it's a terrible and unacceptable compromise they're making. I just think it's important to be accurate in representing them.

OH MY GOODNESS. This has to be one of the most amazing and love filled dialogs I have EVER seen. Im growing and learning reformed theology more and more and realizing just how important it is to also know how to communicate a message effectively in order to do gods work, and this blew me away. Jeff, you and your friend are so loving and gentle, you can’t help but listen and be polite with your attitude. Not only do you have zeal, but you have the Bible verses and knowledge to back up every key point and it shows that you’ve put in diligent studies into knowing what JWs stand for so your prepared to counter with the Bible. Thanks again, I will continue to work on my speaking skills and knowledge of the word.

They dont approach people for debate.. they approach them to let them know the truth. I would call it a debate if they had an opinion they wanted to prove a point for and why that opinion is better weight. But in this case, they are sharing THE truth, like someone believing 2+2=30 and they are explaining that it actually equals 4.
