VictorEssex Satan has misquoted scripture. Jesus correctly applies it. Someone the other day tried to quote something his God and Father said in Deuteronomy 4 and said look Jesus said this when in reality it was his God Jehovah.

    • @NickHawaii
      @NickHawaii 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

VictorEssex You know how Jesus quotes Deuteronomy scriptures for instance. It wasn’t saying it was Jesus but the God of Jesus, Jehovah in the context. That’s all.

    • @NickHawaii
      @NickHawaii 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

VictorEssex I only brought that example up because you said others can misquote their bible. And I couldn’t help but think what someone did recently in a discussion i was in. I thought you as a bible student would know this. But I’ll quote it specifically. In Matthew 4:4 Jesus quoted this scripture in response to Satan. Where does he quote from. Deuteronomy 8:3 which says: “that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by everything that proceedeth out of the mouth of Jehovah doth man live.” So when we live God’s Name where it was inspired to be we see Jesus was not being spoken of here but Jehovah which he denies. Hope that helps you understand why I brought it up as an example.

Bro Preston you gotta stop interrupting people man. Just let the dude talk. He's so chill speaking and you're coming off too aggressive and cutting in every time he speaks. Just because you say "I don't mean to cut you off" doesn't mean you don't mean to cut him off because you clearly do multiple times throughout the conversation. I'm a Christian, but I'm just giving constructive criticism. Don't take it personal, but it's something to think about.

      Here's a quick list of issues surrounding Preston's proposed beliefs;
2:36 - _"I believe Jesus is the true and the living GOD"_ - *The Bible says:* Jesus declared His own GOD and Father; "the only" true GOD
3:38 - _"I believe Jesus is a person of GOD, that GOD is three persons"_ - *The Bible reveals:* There is no such GOD as one God in three identified anywhere in Bible history
4:08 - _"the Bible teaches - that there are three that bare record in heaven, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit"_ - *The Bible reveals:* this to be a known corruption of the Catholic Church, and has been rejected by most Bible translations today
16:28 - _"but about the Son he says, your throne O' God ..."_ - *The Bible reveals:* these are the words of the human Psalmist, whereas the son anointed to the throne is identified as having a GOD above Him(v9)
19:22 - _"why does Thomas call Jesus GOD"_ - *The Bible reveals:* Thomas identified Jesus as His Lord who was sent by GOD to save us - 1 Cor 8.6
      30:50 - _"it means something completely different"_ - *The Bible reveals:* The title of the GOD in the opening statement is different than title given to the word that was GOD;
Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λόγος καὶ ὁ λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν θεόν καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος
En archē ēn ho Logos kai ho Logos ēn pros ton Theon kai Theos ēn ho Logos
In beginning was the Word and the Word was with the God and the Word was GOD
      ton Theon = the GOD
Theos = GOD, or a GOD
John 1.1 makes use of two different titles of GOD rather than attributing the same title to the word who was GOD
*PS.* all of these criticism were drawn from the WEB Bible translation, which would have nothing whatsoever to do with the JW translation(NWT)
As for salvation, it is not the religion that saves us, but our faith and belief in Jesus Christ who was sent by GOD to save us. And so, if a person puts faith in the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ, then you do not need to pray for them, as they are already saved.

      John 20:28 is about seeing and believing. whereas Thomas' declaration was in response to the words of Jesus Christ - that is to say, what it meant to see Jesus Christ and believe in His God who sent Him;

_My Lord (Jesus Christ), and My God(the Father)..._
And so the problem with the proposed argument, is that it falls short of pattern establish in the NT with respect to Jesus Christ and His God who sent Him - as it requires that we remove or Jesus' God and Father from the picture so-as to make Jesus into something He is not.

I grew up a Witness, and I can tell you, we were counting our time to be reported to the Watchtower society. I dreaded moments like this, when someone who really knew the Bible, would get into it with us. One time an elder from our congregation argued John 1:1 with a householder, even asserting that Greek scholars agreed with JW translation of "a god." The man replied, "No, that's not true, because I AM a Greek scholar."😂

Our evidence is in the Bible. There’s been plenty of evidence pop up just go look it up. I’ll try to convince you that God is real if you don’t mind. So say there’s a building or a painting, but it’s around 100 years old. Yk someone created those things even tho it’s been 100 years. Same thing with the earth. I understand that you have a belief but coming on here and shouting at people and telling them that their wrong with no evidence is crazy. And so what if he’s not real in the end? Ik that I’ve lived my life full of purpose to make my father in Heaven proud. If he’s not real it’s not like I’m gonna lose anything. But with the things God has done for me and my family is all evidence to show that he is real! I’m sorry my friend that you haven’t met God yet but I’ll pray that he’ll touch your heart and change you. Have a blessed day man🤍

We have our own bible, yes. But it's not different from any other bible for the most part. Mostly the New World Translation restores Jehovah's name to its proper position. Everywhere in the King James Version where LORD ( capital ) has been changed.

Example: Psalm 110: The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. King James Version
Notice how the different spelling ? LORD and Lord ?
Now compare it to our bible, the New World Translation: Jehovah declared to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand Until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.”

So the original was changed from Jehovah to LORD.

Our bible, and all other bibles, except King James, " there are three witness bearers:8 the spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement."
Obviously inserted to promote the trinity lie.

This was a bit cringe-worthy to watch, simply because I felt soooo uncomfortable for Anton. I think this highlights the importance of Apologetics, because how can you claim to believe something and label it as truth to the point where you are literally preaching it on street corners, but you're not able to back it up? Vaguely saying "many other translations do that" and then when you're pressed about it you can only mention one is really disturbing to me. And what's worse is that the Byington Translation IS published by JW. Every time dude says "I'll show you" he changes the subject. I don't think we should look at this as Christians and think "Man, Preston sure told him". This could have been anyone who is a Christian but does not know study the Word and does not know history. We should be digging into scripture and doing our own research to be ready for whoever comes to challenge our beliefs, be it JWs, Black Hebrew Israelites, Muslims, or Mormons.

Actually, the Greek word monogenes comes from the two root words 1) mono, meaning one or only, as in monopoly, monocular, mononucleosis, etc. and 2) genes, which I bet you can figure out, means to father or to bring forth; think of genetics.
Therefore, monogenes literally means only-begotten, or the only one directly fathered by or created by.
Proverbs 8:22-30 tells us that God (Jehovah) created Jesus as the beginning of His way, before anything else. Verse 30 shows that Jesus then worked alongside God as a master worker, helping create everything else.
1 Corinthians 8:6 explains “there is actually to us one God, from whom all things are and we for Him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and we through him.”
Life comes from Jehovah God, and through Jesus, he created everything else. Since Jesus was the only being directly created by God, he is the firstborn and only-begotten.

Admitting to making false prophecies doesn't magically change them, they are still Bible defined false prophecies (Deut 18:20-22) Very poor reasoning, probably why JWs "suggested dates" and went beyond scripture.

Lian Pi True, but why didn't you support it with Scriptures? (Rev. 1:5; 3:14) We have to be baptized in the same congregation [religion] as Christ Jesus to receive the free gift of eternal life.
To stat with Jesus Christ is to stay with those whom he pleased to use. Outside the true Christian congregation, what alternative organization is there? Only Satan's organization consisting of his "wild beast" and his Babylonian world empire of false religion.---Rev. 13:1, 14, 15; 17:3-6.

@[ Timothy ] The Bible clearly shows that God does not disregard people who lived without knowledge of his requirements. Acts 17:30 assures us: "God has overlooked the times of such ignorance." What hope, then, does the Bible hold out for those who died without having an opportunity to learn about God?
Was Jesus promising that the man would enter into heaven? No. The man had not been "born again" from water and spirit, which was the prerequisite for entering the Kingdom of the heavens. Being a Jew, the man was likely familiar with the earthly paradise---the garden of Eden---described in the first book of the Bible. (Gen 2:8) Jesus' promise gave him the assured hope of a resurrection to paradise when it is reestablished on earth. Get out of false religion (Rev. 18:4) Visit jw.org. Humanity's only salvation. @Kalvin Booker
You’re right, there are lives at stake. If you haven’t studied the Bible enough to have these conversations, how do you know which one is right?
For example, most people who watch this would agree with Preston, because they have been raised or taught that God is a trinity or that Jesus is God. Is that what the Bible actually teaches?
Matthew 7:13-14 says “ Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.”
According to Matthew, most people will be on the wrong road, so perhaps Anton is right.
I speak 4 languages fluently and several others a little bit. I speak and can read and write in Spanish and Portuguese and can read some Italian, French and Romanian. I speak Mandarin Chinese but have not learned to read any yet. I can tell you that Preston knows nothing about translation and is just regurgitating nonsense he was taught by people who try to defend the false trinity doctrine.
Do your research people. Any legitimate encyclopedia will tell you that the trinity doctrine was not a first century Christian teaching and was developed centuries later when Greek philosophies and pagan beliefs infiltrated Christian teachings.
More importantly, what does the Bible say and what did Jesus say?
Matthew 16:16 Jesus disciples identified Jesus as the Christ, the son of the living God. Not as God.
Colossians 1:15 Jesus is “the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. “ American Standard Version
The Greek word used here, Prototokos, comes from the root words Proto, which means first or only, as in prototype; and Tokos, which means child birth. The supposed definition of “preeminent one” was not an original meaning of this word and was a later addition by those who support the trinity doctrine because they needed a different definition.
1 Timothy 2:5 says “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus”. This is very clear, Jesus is not God, but he is the mediator between us and God.
God’s name in Hebrew was 4 consonants, YHWY. In Hebrew this would be a three syllable word as the first three consonants would each be followed by a vowel sound, and the last one would end the word. Yahweh is not the correct translation of Gods name as it is only two syllables. The English translation of that name is Jehovah, and it was translated to English in the 1500’s.
The no J in Hebrew rationale holds not weight. That’s be like saying there’s no J in Chinese.
Look at the name James. In a Spanish Bible, it’s Santiago. In Portuguese, it’s Tiago. In Chinese, there is no direct translation for the name, so someone would basically make a name up or use something that would closely resemble the name, but may not have the same meaning. But what if they were translating it from Portuguese instead of English? They would come up with something completely different.
The no “a” in Hebrew argument doesn’t work either. Look all throughout the rest of any translation that didn’t pu an “a” in John 1:1. Are there any “a’s”. Yes, they’re all over the place. So, how could the translators of those Bibles know they needed an “a” in some verses, but be adamant that there can be no “a” in John 1:1? They can’t. It’s just a bad argument of someone who “needs” to stand on that verse as supposed support of their false doctrine. But, like Anton said, you can’t use just one scripture. What does the rest of the Bible say about Jesus, Jehovah, God’s Kingdom, etc.?

@@954MrSayre 1. In Zechariah 12, JEHOVAH speaks (verses 1 and 4). In verse 10 JEHOVAH says: "They shall behold Me whom they pierced". This cannot but refer to Christ
      (compare John 19:37 and Revelation 1: 7).
      2. The JEHOVAH of the Old Testament declares Himself to be the First and the Last:
says YHWH, the King of Israel, his Redeemer, YHWH of the army: I am the First
and I am the Last, and besides me there is no God ”(Isaiah 44: 6 and see Isaiah 41: 4; 48: 11-12).
Who is declared to be "the First and the Last" on the pages of the New Testament
      (see Revelation 1: 8, 11, 17, 18; 22:13)?
      3. In Isaiah 6: 5 the prophet says: "For my eyes have seen the King, YHWH of the armies". Isaiah saw JEHOVAH! The apostle John refers to this same event
and makes it very clear that the Person who saw Isaiah was in fact Jesus Christ: “This is what Isaiah said
when he saw His [Christ] glory and spoke of Him [referring to in the context
      Christ] ”- John 12:41.
      4. In Psalm 23: 1, David stated that JEHOVAH is the Shepherd of the sheep. But according to the New Testament, who is the Shepherd of the sheep (John 10:11, 14; Hebrews 13:20)?
And the Old Testament repeatedly refers to JEHOVAH as Israel's ROCK (Deuteronomy 32: 3, 4, 18; Psalm 18: 2-3; Psalm 62: 2-3; etc.). But the New Testament identifies this ROCK as Christ (1 Corinthians 10: 4)!
      5. In Exodus 3: 14-15 we learn that JEHOVAH is the great "I AM." But who is according to it
      Gospel of John the Great "I AM" (see John 6:35; 8:12; 8:24; 8:58; 10: 9; 10:11;
      11:25; 14: 6; 18: 5-6)?
      6. In Isaiah 43: 10-11 and 45:21, JEHOVAH declares Himself as the ONLY SAVIOR. Outside
To him there is no Savior (= Savior or Savior) say the texts! But who is according to it
New Testament the ONLY SAVIOR (Acts 4: 10-12)?
      7.
In Isaiah 45: 21-22, JEHOVAH says: "Turn to Me, be saved, ... for I am God and
no one else". But John 3: 14-16 tells us to look at the Crucified One
      to be saved!
      8. In Isaiah 45: 21-23, JEHOVAH says: "that before Me every knee shall bow, every tongue before Me
will swear ”. But in Philippians 2: 9-11, this passage from Isaiah is applied to Christ,
The one for whom "every knee shall bow from those that are in heaven, and those on earth, and those that are under earth"!
      9. Isaiah 24:23 and Zephaniah 3: 15-17 teach that JEHOVAH Himself will rule in Jerusalem during the
coming in Peace and that He will be in the midst of His people. What does the New Testament say
      us about the identity of this future King of the millennium (Revelation 19: 11-16;
      20: 4, 6)?
      10. In Isaiah 40: 3 we learn that John the Baptist had to prepare the way for the coming of JEHOVAH. In Mark 1: 1-3, the same passage is applied to Christ (John the Baptist
      prepared the way for Christ).
      11. In Isaiah 8: 13-14 it says that JEHOVAH “is a stumbling stone and a rock over which one is
stumbles ”. In 1 Peter 2: 7-8 these verses in Isaiah are applied to Jesus Christ.
      12. Compare Joel 2:32 ("It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call upon the Name of YHWH shall be saved") with Acts 2:21, 36 and Romans 10: 9, 13. By which Name is
      retained in the New Testament

Paul called Him God (Acts 20:28; phillipians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 3:16; Titus 2:13).
The Father called Jesus God (Hebrew 1:8-10). Hebrew 1:8-9 is quoted from Psalm 45, and in Psalm 45 it is self-evident that God the Father, Jehovah / Yahweh God, is lord of the Son. The Father calls the Son God, and the Son calls the Father God. This is the mystery of the Trinity. Although we cannot fully understand the Trinity, we believe it is the doctrine of Scripture
      Jesus is Lord and Savior

Funny thing is that John 1 : 1 was translated like that because there wasn't a suitable way to properly translate it. In fact, the "... the Word was a God" translation is deemed more accurate than ".. the Word was God", but the consensus is that the best/closest translation is " ... and the Word was divine." That's why its useless to have these religious conversation because, unless you speak those original languages, none of us really know what was really said or meant.

It is sad you feel like this scripture supports a triune God. This scripture is talking about Jesus being elevated to a higher position in Gods kingdom. Lets look back a bit to the actual beginning of this scripture , here in 1:1 he is telling us that God spoke to their ancestors through MEN , which elevated these men to Prophets , then he explained that in these days he spoke through his son, He identifies in the next few verses that the son existed with the creator at the very beginning Then the following verses that you say case closed show what happen AFTER his sacrifice , it actually says in verse 3,4 When he cleansed us from our sin, he sat down at the right hand off the majestic GOD in heaven (notice this only happen after he went back to heaven) This shows the Son if far greater than the angels (this shows he was elevated to that position) just as the name GOD (The father) gave him is greater than theirs,. These verses clearly shows us that Jesus was elevated to this high position above the Angels , he did not always have that position.

Look further into verse 9 where is clearly states that he was ELEVATED to that place of honour this indicates clearly he did not hold this position prior to that.

      JW theology aside, our dedication should be to the teachings and commandments of GOD's written word, rather than those of men - for example;
Nowhere in scripture do we find the words; _'God incarnate'_ or _'second part of the Godhead',_ leaving those adhering to such things, to contend with fabrications rather than the written truth of GOD.
      As for the author's arguments, here a few points for consideration;
2:36 - _"I believe Jesus is the true and the living God"_
*The Bible says:* Jesus declared His own God and Father; "the only" true God
3:38 - _"I believe Jesus is a person of God, that God is three persons"_
*The Bible reveals:* There is no such God as, one God in three persons identified anywhere in scripture
4:08 - _"the Bible teaches - that there are three that bare record in heaven, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit"_
*The Bible reveals:* Is a known corruption of the Catholic Church, and has been rejected by most Bible translations
      today
16:28 - _"but about the Son he says, your throne O' God ..."_
*The Bible reveals:* This is the human Psalmist speaking, whereas the Son of the God anointed to the throne, has a God above Him in verse 9
19:22 - _"why does Thomas call Jesus God"_
*The Bible reveals:* Thomas identified Jesus as His Lord sent by His God to save us - 1 Cor 8.6
30:50 - _"it means something completely different"_
      *The Bible reveals:* The title of the God in the opening statement is different than title given to the word that was God;
As John 1.1, reveals two titles than one in the same, we find word that was God in the beginning, is not merely a substitute for Jesus, but moreso, a personification of GOD's spoken commandment made-alive in the Son.

Acts 4:10-12 shows that, after the cross, Jesus is the Name by which men must saved (sozo in the Greek). Even the murderous NWT perversion couldn't butcher this Scripture enough to disprove this *FACT* .
Acts 4:10-12 (NWT) 10 "...let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that in the name of Jesus Christ the Naz·a·reneʹ, whom you executed on a stake but whom God raised up from the dead, by means of him this man stands here healthy in front of you. 11 This (Jesus by context) is ‘the stone that was treated by you builders as of no account that has become the chief cornerstone.’ 12 Furthermore, there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is no other name (Jesus, see v. 10) under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.”
"no other name" - Either Yaweh is the Name by which men must be saved (Joel), or Yeshua (Salvation from Hebrew, Jesus from Greek) is the Name by which men must be saved (Peter), or *GOD IS JESUS IN THE FLESH (IMMANUEL)* QED - Enough said.

The words 'GOD incarnate', are nowhere written in scripture, and no amount of word manipulation can change that.
That said and when it comes to GOD's written truth, we either accept or reject it - whereas false gods and doctrines will always rest on made-up terms and definitions.
Those who aspire to the truth take no issue with the written truth in scripture - whereas the notion that made-up words and definitions justify a god that is nowhere; worshiped, taught or preached in Bible history proves to be nothing but hogwash.
Did Jesus worship a triune god?
Did He ever preach of such a god?
Did He teach of such a god in His ministry?
Has such a god ever been declared in scripture?
      Who are we following again?
When did Jesus instruct us to follow degenerate men?
True followers of Christ are distinguished by their dedication and commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ. And they do so, by worshiping, teaching and preaching just as Jesus did on earth - that is to say, the true worship and doctrine of godliness established by our Lord Jesus Christ.

True followers of Christ will follow in Jesus' footsteps. And we all know without a doubt that Jesus did not worship, teach or preach of a triune god at any point in His ministry.
As for the word of GOD becoming flesh, it is obvious that the flesh would not be equal to, or GOD Himself, as the flesh was in subjection to GOD, and where Jesus destinguished Himself from GOD - see; 'believe in me, believe also in GOD'
That is why, Jesus was in subjection to GOD, and in contrast with GOD, who is in subjection to no one. And where we read, that the flesh was made lower than the angels. Or that no one had seen GOD.
      GOD incarnate = human fabrication
Fully man and fully god = human fabrication
GOD the Son = human fabrication
GOD the Holy Spirit = human fabrication
      Triune god = human fabrication
One god in three persons = human fabrication
Therefore and as a follower of Christ, my advice is to run - run from Satan's lies and false teachings in-favor of the truth. Stop lending yourself to Satan's will by taking part in the proliferation of lies, in honor of Jesus' teachings and commandments - the time to act is now!

If one was to record a conversation against another's consent and repeatedly interrupt that person because he (Preston) knows that he is secretly recording; how then is he obeying Jesus when Jesus says "All things.. you want men to do to you, you also must do to them"? Here is how the Bible proves that Jesus is not God:
      1) Jesus worshiped God and says that his God is the Father in John 20:17. So how can God have a God? That of course isn't logical, God does not have a God but here Jesus says plainly that his God is his Father. Jesus also says he has brothers and we know God does not have brothers.
      2) Jesus teaches that his God created him. In John 6:57 his says that the reason he is alive is because of his Father, "I live because of the Father". Couple this with that fact that he is "begotten" of his God (John 3:16) means plainly that at one point he was non existent until God Begot him just like at one point we all were non existent till our parents begot us, also (Col 1:15).
      3) God's name Jehovah identifies the person who is the "ONLY true God" (John 17:3). If you simply put God's personal name Jehovah back in the scriptures where God himself had it inscribed by his prophets, then all confusion about who God is would dissipate. If you wrote a book and hired publishers to print and translate your book, but they kept repeatedly altering it by removing the name of its main character, would you not find other publishers? You would use even the lowest and unimpressive if they would keep true to your book. Well Jehovah God has done somthing similar. John 1:1 therefore translates the verse not only to common sense but also with insight of God's personal name Jehovah YHWH.
      4) the Trinity concept originated from pagans and the occult. Pagans still worship triune gods. the trinity doctrine is pagan. It worships 3 different persons as God. That's pagan my friend.

The more I’ve talked to JW’S the more I come to realize that only by the power of YHVH can they be reached. Well crafted arguments alone can’t do it. I told one recently that without The Indwelling of The Holy Spirit they can’t be saved, they don’t belong to Him, and they can’t enter into The Kingdom. He told me that he’s not entitled or eligible to receive The Holy Spirit. So when I showed him the verse and had him read it he clumsily explained it away. To him it was more about protecting the watchtower teaching and not losing the argument than it was about where he stood with YHVH and what His Word says. Over the years the watchtower has been more effective at hiding their past doctrinal errors from its members, and coming up with ways to defend them. They’re under the spell of the power of darkness and only YHVH can set them free.

I do agree!! From watching this it sounds more like Preston is already thinking next about what he is going to say, while not fully listening to what they are saying, BECAUSE he knows that what they are teaching is false!! Its not always easy to listen when you know someone is wrong, and it's not always easy for there to be a conclusion when the other party is fully brain washed into thinking they are right... so it is so important to be lead by the Spirit of God here!! The thing with JW's is they hold the Bible in the highest regard, so it may be good to show them the error in the bible they read, then to try and convince them that Jesus is God! 1 Corinthians 15:20-28 God subjected all things to him (Jesus). Verse 27 explains that when it says all thing’s, it of course does not include that the One who subject all things to Jesus. Verse 28 says the son himself will subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him.
Clearly shows God is superior to Jesus, placed Jesus in a position of authority (study of the scriptures shows he placed him, Jesus, as king of His, God’s, Kingdom). Jesus will turn that Kingdom back over to his Father at the end of his millennial reign and subject himself to Jehovah.
There has always been only one true God, Jehovah. Jesus himself taught that. People have tried to change it by placing Jesus on the same level as Jehovah, but Jesus always directed attention to his Father, his God..... his superior.

Jesus is Gods Son that's it Not (God Almighty the Creator) Let's take a Look at the Bible and see what it Says
      1. Then why is God head of Christ just as Christ is Head of man? (1st coriethians 11:3)
2.) Then why does Scripture consistently phrase Jesus as a Separate person from God? (John 20:17); (John 14:1); (Mark 10:18); (John 17:1-3), Also in Heaven, (Luke 22:69)
      3.) Then how can Jesus have a god? (Micah 5:4), (pslams 45:6, 7; 89:26, John 20:17; (Romans 15:6;2), (Coriethians 1:3, Eph. 1:3; (Col. 1:3) (Mark 15:34); (John 17:1-3) Also in heaven (Rev. 1:6; 3:3, 12)
      4. Then why does Scripture say he was born and part of creation? (Colessians 1:15)

Before U condemn JWs, I have some very important questions for Preston?
    • At Acts 28:6, why does the King James Version enter an indefinite article [A] in front of the word 'god' when there was no indefinite article [A] in Ancient Greek.
Acts 28:6 - The people called the Apostle Paul "a god"
    ----------
    [See King James Version]
Exodus 7:1 - Moses called [a] god to Pharaoh & Aaron...
[NOTE]: There were "no" vowels in Ancient Hebrew, only consonents. They wrote the way we text msg & abbreviate today: Examples: lbs (weight)/ ystrdy (yesterday) /btw (between), etc.

    • @wylolister3218
      @wylolister3218 2 ปีที่แล้ว

We don't need to condemn JWs, the bible does that and JWs admit it. It warns of false teachers, false prophets. JWs "truth"? "Jehovah's Witnesses, in their eagerness for Jesus' second coming, *have suggested dates that turned out to be incorrect."* Awake 1993 Mar 22 page4
*Jehovah’s Witnesses have had wrong expectations about when the end would come.* Jan 1, 2013 Watchtower
"Does this admission of making mistakes stamp them [Jehovah's Witnesses] as false prophets? Not at all, for false prophets do not admit to making mistakes." Watchtower, Nov. 1, 1972, page 644 - in brackets added
Admitting to making false prophecies doesn't magically change them, they are still Bible defined false prophecies (Deut 18:20-22) Very poor reasoning, probably why JWs "suggested dates" and went beyond scripture.
"suggested dates, wrong expectations" in God's name? yes, these ARE false prophecies from the Jehovah Witness Organization.
God's channel of communications, his voice on earth, God's mouthpiece, JWs? Nope, just a false religion!

1885: "and the Word was a god" - Concise Commentary on The Holy Bible (R. Young, 1885)
1911: "and [a] God was the word" - The Coptic Version of the New Testament in the Southern Dialect, by George William Horner.[18]
1928: “and the Word was a divine being.” La Bible du Centenaire, L’Evangile selon Jean, by Maurice Gogue
1950: “and the Word was a god.” New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures.
1958: “and the Word was a God.” The New Testament, by James L. Tomanek.
1975: “and a god (or, of a divine kind) was the Word.” Das Evangelium nach Johannes, by Siegfried Schulz.
1978: “and godlike kind was the Logos.” Das Evangelium nach Johannes, by Johannes Schneider.
John 1:18 plainly tells us that no man has seen God "at any time."

Did you not notice where it says that God resurrected Jesus from the dead? You still try to claim Jesus is God and completely ignore that part of the verse.
Also, Jesus is not worshipped, but shown the respect he is due for what he did for mankind as well as for his position as second only to God.

*Case in point:* “omnipotent, omnipresent, Sovereign etc” are words not doing in the Bible, yet they express the very character and nature of God. Likewise trinity is not found in the Bible but using a consistent method of exegesis, you will end up with the trinity, I might also add, _bible isn’t in the Bible._ It’s true, do a word search.
The addition of the word “a” is different since now you are dealing with linguistics and what actually appears in the text.

Jesus prays to God as a living example of how we need to 1)follow Jesus and do as He does. Jesus made himself lowly and is both fully man and fully God. Jesus does everything for others and we are called to also die to self.
      2) Jesus not only prays to God in the new testament Jesus is prayed to. Here are a few examples - this is not a comprehensive list -
Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my Spirit” (Acts 7:59). At Paul’s conversion, he prayed to Jesus: “Lord, what wilt thou have me do?” (Acts 9:6). Ananias conversed with Jesus when Jesus spoke to him in a vision (Acts 9:10-14). And the very last prayer in the New Testament is addressed to Jesus by the Apostle John: “Even so come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20). If it were wrong to petition Christ, John the inspired writer may have said, “Father, may the Son come.” But instead he gave us these words to also cry out to Jesus: “Even so, come!”
According to the apostle Paul, New Testament Christians were everywhere praying to Jesus. “Paul. . . to the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ-their Lord and ours (1 Corinthians 1:1-2).”4 It appears that Paul includes himself among those who called upon the name of Jesus. These prayers directed to Jesus were universal. And the present tense of “call” suggests that the prayers were on-going.
Paul also prayed to Jesus when he “besought the Lord” to remove his thorn in the flesh (2 Corinthians 12:8). Why do we believe that the reference to “the Lord” here refers to Jesus instead of the Father? In the Pauline epistles, the term “Lord” (kurios) usually signifies Jesus, while “God” usually denotes to the Father. And look at the response of Paul when the Lord said to him, “My strength is made perfect in your weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Paul tells us that he would glory in his weakness that the “power of Christ” (the Lord) would be revealed in him. So the referent for “the Lord” is Jesus. Paul prayed to Jesus, and Jesus responded. Notice that these were prayers of petition, not praise. These were not spontaneous petitions or petitions given in response to the voice of the Lord or a vision, but a prayer prayed three times, as Paul persisted in his request to Jesus. If it were inappropriate for someone to offer supplication to Jesus, Paul would not have asked Jesus three times to answer a specific request. Jesus did not rebuke Paul for praying the prayer, but He did inform Paul that he was better off without the request being granted.
In 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17, Paul blessed the Thessalonians with these words: “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father. . . encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” Even though this benedictory prayer is in a different form than other prayers, it implies a request to Jesus (and the Father), and this suggests the legitimacy of prayer to Jesus. Paul expected Jesus to answer this request. A similar benedictory prayer (invoking the name of Jesus) is found in 1 Thessalonians 3:11-14.
We pray to Jesus because we know He is worthy of worship, and that He even demands worship. Jesus commanded us to honor the Son just as we honor the Father (John 5:23). If we fail to give praise to the Son in our prayers, as we give praise the Father, would we really be honoring the Son as we do the Father?
“Maranatha” (found in 1 Corinthians 16:22), which is usually translated as the petition, “Come, O Lord.” “Maranatha” is an Aramaic expression that originated before Christians had filtered throughout the Gentile community. It seems that very early on, the Christians were crying out to Jesus, “Come, O Lord!” This was a prayer of petition.
A verse in John 14 strongly encourages prayers of petition to Jesus. Jesus said, “Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”12 Jesus here says that he would answer prayer when we asked him anything in his name. So Jesus authorizes us to address him in prayer when we come in his name-in his own authority, and in his will. And he promised that he would answer.
Prayers to Jesus are permitted and encouraged by Christ’s teaching in John 14:14, and by any passage in which Jesus says that we are to pray in His name. When Jesus told us to pray in His name, He wasn’t asking us to use a particular phrase at the end of each of our prayers, though the expression “in Jesus’ name, Amen” is certainly appropriate, and God-honored.
Jesus is worthy to receive all honor and all praise and all glory. In Jesus name. Amen.
Shalom! Jesus awaits that you "follow him" and be transformed and made new!

The JW let him off with one in the first 5 minutes. Preston quotes from 1 John 5:7. "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." The JW picked up on the fact he was quoting from the KJV. Preston said I use the KJV and the ESV and that he had an ESV with.
If the JW had asked him to read 1 John 5:7 in the ESV this conversation might have gone down a different road as it is not there, or at least the 3 record bearers are not there.
Even if 1 John 5:7 was in every Bible we are still left with this question. One what?
Next up from Preston Col 1:15 "The word prototokos means pre-eminent one". No, it doesn't. The literal meaning is the one "born first".
In fact of the 136 uses of prototokos in the Greek OT and NT practically all of them is speaking of the literal firstborn.
If Paul wanted to say Jesus is "pre-eminent over all creation" he could easily do so as he actually uses the word pre-eminent of Jesus a few verses later at Col 1:18 and it is not prototokos. Paul also knows how to differentiate between "of" and "over".
It is interesting that of the over 30 times scripture uses the phrase "firstborn of" something, the subject is always of that group.
The firstborn of Pharaoh is Pharaoh's first child.
The firstborn of the beast is an animal
The firstborn of the maidservant is of her house.
The firstborn of all creation is of creation.
I am only 6 minutes in and the holes in Preston's position are glaring.

If you use a camera with the right lens, you can literally take an image of the sun. It won't be the fullness of the sun, because it's not the sun itself, but it's a representation of the sun. If you didn't take that image you would never see the sun, it would be unseeable.
