  • It's finally finished..!!!
    I took it to Southwest RC Truckers for its first outing and I was very happy with it and a lot of positive comments from the other RC Truckers. They also had a drive of it so I could stand and watch my truck drive around. Working on it means I'm focused on the area I'm working on, driving it means I'm watching where I'm going. looking at it on the table isn't the same as watching it actually move.... I was extremely happy with it!!!
    Just a couple of things to address. I accidently bent one of the rear posts and scratched the rear bumper sticker when taking it out of my car at the Meet. Also, there's a wire that broke on the tail light plug. That's all an easy fix.

    Fantastic build Teri, you have every right to feel proud of your achievement it looks 'absolutely fantastic' including the real-life wear and tear (its bumps and bruises getting there), that these trucks get. They never stay clean or shiny and new looking for very long perhaps a few days then its rain spray mud, dust concrete and more mud and rain and grit oil diesel and TF (Traffic Film), I know, I was a real-life AIL Driver/Trucker for 30yrs, (AIL is Abnormal / Indivisible Load), I tried everything to keep my new trucks looking showroom and it was an exercise in futility, I soon learnt to let it get mucky and dinged up and be happy how clean it looked "again". I thought it was a real-world truck from the thumbnails but having followed the build I knew it was not a real truck, but it passed muster. I feel chuffed for you.

    WHAT A PROUD MOMENT!! Looks great, performs beautifully. All that time, swearing, problems, and manufacturing fails....
    You NOW have a £2000 Trailer to be proud of!!! I love how it maneuvers in and out of tight turns, that a normal Trailer would leave you frustrated. Fantastic job, my friend!!

    Hi Teri I have a trailer the same but i am having issues with the steering did you have any

      I can’t get mine to centre whin I switch on they move to one side

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did. First thing I noticed was that it wasn't tracking straight, so I had to adjust the rod on the servo. Then I noticed that if there's any gravel on the layout from the digger pits, the steering has a bit of play when it bumps over the 'stones' and it gets worse towards the rear axle. but it's almost impossible to see that free=play when on a smooth indoor layout. I've not run it outdoors yet so I expect to see a little steering wobble on asphalt.
      I haven't had any issues with the hall effect type steering angle sensor in the king pin turn table because I'm using a small on-board 7.4v Li-Ion pack made up of 2 x 18650 cells.
      I've only had it at 2 RC Truck meets so little running to show up any ''major'' issues... Time will tell on just how reliable this Ballast Trailer is.

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @raymondewen5264 Take off the servo arm and switch on the power to the trailer, then make sure the King pin turn table is straight and set the wheels straight and then put the servo arm back on... then see if the turn table moves the wheels.
      If that fails, you have a bad position sensor, which is under the king pin assembly

      Hi Teri it’s the pest again I did what you said and no difference I noticed the servo when I turned the turn table it moved the wheels one way but did not move the wheels in the opposite direction could the servo be faulty
