  • This is just a quick video of how to install the Tamiya Trailer Light set, I also change the orange turn signal LED for a red one.
    I show how I've moved the axles back a little so it looks more authentic.

    Always a joy to watch, I have some catching up to do with your vids .. I am thinking of doing the trailer in reverse, .. turn the flat bed into a box van .. or / and make a new bed from scratch, and increase my trailer fleet .. Great vids and commentary Teri, you are a star.

      I'm glad you've enjoyed it as much as I've enjoyed building it.... I just need to get to the RC clubs and run it with the other 3 movies trucks. hopefully before I start the next one.

    Hi Teri, thank you for sharing with us the lights for the trailer. I’m in the middle of building the Scania R620, MFC-03 and Ive got a trailer too. I’m looking at perhaps even running my own wiring loom for the lights, especially as there are only 4 LED’s. As Jeremy Clarkson would say, ‘how hard can it be’ 🤣😂. Great insight to how to build a trailer too. Subbed too. Take care, keep well and all the best 😉😊😉

      I have drawn a diagram showing the MFC outputs for the trailer light socket and plug. "How hard can it be" usually ended up being a disaster for Jeremey Clarkson if I remember right... 🤣

    Ms Teri....... I GOOFED!! 😐🙄. I did NOT fit the LEDs through that rubber donut, before running the Wires, including side Running Lights, fitting the LEDs in the Bumper, fitting the Bumper and sticking the floor down!! 😭😳😵
    I'm NOT pulling it all apart. This might call for some ingenuity..... OR guesswork! Right, I'm not even sure I want to stick that big, odd coloured plug on my finished, Lacquered, BLACK Front Panel anyway.
    I used your trick of fitting the Trailer Light Socket in the "Diamond Plate" Panel in front of the 5th Wheel. 😉👍👍 Thanks! So much better than on top of the Sleeper, which just looks DAFT to me.😵
    I had also JUST done what you did with the Rear Tandem Axle - moved it back one hole! Great Minds?
    And I'm only done with the Bottom Panel.... But I used RTV Silicone in the panel grooves. Not only stopped the rattles, but also keeps the side Rails from pulling outward! I believe that I may leave the side Panels loose. It's a 70's Trailer.... It NEEDS some rattles!! 😂😜
    Oh, and I like that "patina" Bumper. Adds character, AND it was the 70's... Drivers didn't much bother with their Trailers - and likely BASHED a Loading Bay or three!!! LOL!
    One question (only because I forgot the other six!!), have you ever tried fitting the Mud Flaps directly to the Bumper wire covers??
    Thank you Teri! Again, quite informative.

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't tried fitting the mud flaps to the wire covers but I think I'm going to use some rear flap hangers from a Tamiya kit for this trailer... I'll see how I like it when it's driving around as to whether I'll fit mud flaps to it or not.
      and I once built a trailer and forgot to fit the rubber bung in the font panel so I just fitted a rubber grommet and then covered it with a small box. On my BJ McKay and Snowman trailer I fitted a home made fake reefer unit which covers that hole, not sure if you can see it in my Dayton wheel videos but the trailer lead come from the bottom of the reefer unit.

      Hey.... If the bog standard Tamiya Flap Hangers work, I'd rather go that way. It would look much better.
      We are thinking alike!! 😊
      I'm making a Refrigerator Unit for my Trailer out of Plastic Sheet.
      I also made an Air Reservoir Tank, rolling Plastic into a tube, and using scrap Buggy Headlight Covers for end caps!! 😁

      I've checked my spares box today and I have 2 brand new sets of hangers, I'm going to look at fitting them to the trailer this weekend... 🙂
      I'll also showcase reefer too... 👍

    def fit the mud flaps and was it to early to put the chrome lady badges on them? what about useing the molotow chrome pen on the bumper this is by far a easyer build than the reffa trailer ....man that thing is like building the truck itself. i need to take mine apart at some point as i put the coupler release on the wrong side so i just taped it on until i can screw it down

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure what year the chrome lady mudflap weights came out. But I will leave them blank until I can think of a cool and relevant logo to put on them

    Hello, you did not mount the chrome fenders?

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the American trailers in the 70s didn't have the chrome fenders, just mud flaps, which is why I left them off. plus they don't fit after I moved the axles back ½inch.

    Hi mate great video where do you get you leds from. Do they have built in resistors also what volt do they work at I want to add leds to my mfc would these work.

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use added 5mm Red LEDs that I got from my local electronics store, no resistors used... it's just a simple straight swap.
      I did a little video of the change a while ago → th-cam.com/video/FHlh77s0hWI/w-d-xo.html

    Put a little bit of tamiya grease onto screw before you put it in
