Streamdeck Record Button Setup for your Rodecaster Pro & Duo

- A quick tutorial on how to configure a button on your Streamdeck to start & stop recording on your Rodcaster Pro 2 and Rodcaster Duo!
NOTE: For those who haven't configured your REC button out of the box, you might get a yellow REC light when toggling the recording off. This just means that your Rodecastor Pro 2 is configured to pause when you press the record button instead of stopping the recording altogether. To change this, go to settings, then display, then go to REC button and change the setting to "Press to Stop Recording" This will ensure that the Rodecaster stops the recording instead of pausing. You can still pause by holding it down. - Thats to @TheMichaelTech for the valid point!

Awesome tutorial! For those who haven't configured your Rec button out of the box like me, you might get a yellow Rec light when toggling the recording off. This just means that your Rodecastor pro 2 is configured to pause when you press the record button instead of stopping the recording altogether. To change this, go to settings, then display, then go to Rec button and change the setting to "Press to Stop Recording" This will ensure that the rodecastor stops the recording instead of pausing. You can still pause by holding it down.
Great tip I’d forgotten about that. I’ll add you details in the description if that’s okay?
@@NeilFarrimond that’s fine!
Can I use the Strea Deck to Start/Stop the Rodecaster and Ecamm Live at the same time with one button?
Yes you can. You just need to use a multi action button on the Streamdeck.
Works great! The icon pack is recommended too. It really completes this function. Thanks Neil.
Just got a streadeck and a few things have changed or are different from my setup:
1. It seems as if you do not need a multi-Action button. A Toggle seems to do just fine
2. The starting works, but it seems as if RCPII is expecting a long press for it to stop. I'm not sure how you got your unit to accept a single press on the stop. What is your Device Configuration---> REC Button Settings. I have mine on the second one: Press to Pause. If I have it on the Press to Stop, it doesn't seem to work....
Hi, my RCP settings are press to stop. This could be why your button is not working as expected.
@@NeilFarrimond No, I'm having latency from the RCP receiving MIDI to it. This has been a bug on my system seeing I have more than one MIDI interface connected. I went back to the old ECM software method and allowing the RCP to do the triggering. With the Elgato, If I trigger the buttons it sometimes is received by the RCP and sometimes it doesn't at all. I know it's not the Elgato fault, because the the Ecamm Live works flawlessly. It's something with my unit and MIDI. I probably just have too much stuff connected.
@GospelMusicians is trying to with just the RCP connected first to eliminate the issue.
