This game just went way overboard I think, with the last case especially. Not only did it do four separate murders and three different culprits, it also threw in so many hastily concluded character arcs and even the whole revolution plotline that none of it ever amounted to anything. I wouldn't call that good writing.

When I heard this while playing the game it became my favourite ost at that very moment. I was literally searching the whole YT for a very long time to find this and I was crying my eyes out when I finally found this masterpiece.
As several people have said, this song is extremely good. I think what really speaks to the incredible atmosphere this song creates is that I was really struggling to get into or care about any of the murder cases in Cases 2, 3, and (especially 4), but every time all it took was this song playing during the opening statements for me to get really invested in the cases. Sort of like Danganrompa's Closing Statements theme, for a summary of a case's facts, this song really creates an unsettling atmosphere that is both ominous and tragic. That was something I also appreciated about the first Ace Attorney game's Logic & Trick theme, which I feel was never captured by any later Logic theme.
Im five years late lmao so dont feel bad but he really is i felt like dual destinys got it right but it got lost in the amazing case involving athena it got looked over. Its allready a small detail in aa's huge sound design though.

Edit: AAAAH! lets say the difference is that the theme plays on parts where you gotta use logic, NO NOT THAT KINDA LOGIC THE- *sigh*, so, understandable. But this theme plays when you try to figure out something about the event of the crime at the time it occurred, this is more like a 'how did the crime happen?' theme
This song really set the mood for going over the opening statements of the case. That and its a really good thought process theme for figuring out how a crime was executed
Out of the whole game this song is somehow the one that stuck out. What makes everyone here like this song so much? Is it because it fits the mood so perfectly? It reminds you that someone has died from unfortunate circumstances, but makes you think that there might be more behind the simple basics of the case (as there always is).

This is such a great song, it has that tension and somber to it. When I hear it, I think that Athena, Phoenix, and Apollo know that they're in for a tough fight because they judge/magistry is agreeing with the twisted reasoning of the prosecution.
This is without doubt the best track in the entire series. It builds up so well to come into context of the serious trials, but not so energetic that it stops you from thinking thanks to the more gentle approach. True masterpiece

This is also the first game in the Ace Attorney series to have an “Opening Statement” theme, in pretty much every other game they just play the Logic theme when the opening statement is being, well, stated.
I'm glad to see that a lot of other people also thought that this peticular ost stood out I really like the atmosphere, reminded me of "Drew Studio" in ace attorney 4, it really gives that sense of "mystery", perfect for an opening statement imo

This theme just randomly zapped itself back into my mind several years after having played the game. Had to find it and give it a refreshed listen, it's great.
The pizzicato of the strings, light bass strum and slow build up makes this ost extraordinarily good for building tension subtly, it fits so well for presenting the basic info while creating anticipation!
They probably wanted it to fit in with the darker setting of AA6. Just think about it: The DC Act is way worse than the Dark Age of the Law in AA5 and the first thing you see when entering the courtroom for the first time is your client being declared guilty. Logic and trick just isn't the proper music when the opening statement incriminates you just as much as your client.
In a way, I consider this a second Logic theme for the game. It isn't used very much outside of the opening statement, but later cases do occasionally use it in place of the standard Logic theme, and I think this song shares a lot more in common with Logic & Trick from PW:AA in both sound and usage than either song shares with the Logic themes from JFA-onwards.
Man, I tell you, this theme was smothered--like what I did there--all over Turnabout Storyteller! Nothing better captured the grim, dark sully within all the narratives described in the case than this song. Turnabout Storyteller may not have contributed much to the overall story arc, but its twisted darkness really earned its spot in the game.
The case could be about someone being accused of writing “Deez Nuts” on a statue and this theme would make it sound like one of the most interesting and intense cases ever.
Your honor, in today’s proceeding the prosecution intends to demostrate that SoJ has the best OST of the whole series. And the theme your listen right know just proves it.
I don't know exactly what it is about this track, but it goes HARD. For me, it's probably because it plays to reinforce the gravity of the situation at hand.
