      *SPOILERS AHEAD*
It’s mentioned in the report you’re given about Amara’s assassination attempt. Since Dhurke was accused of the crime, Nahyuta was expelled from the royal family and had to work to get to where he was as a prosecutor.
This is also how Nahyuta was forced to do Ga’ran’s bidding; the secret of Rayfa’s parentage was being used against him. If it came out that Dhurke had fathered her when he “kidnapped” Amara, she would’ve been disinherited and shunned by the people.
Apollo’s potential ruination isn’t really brought up, though. I guess we have to assume that Ga’ran doesn’t consider him Dhurke’s child, whether that be because Dhurke adopting him was never officiated or just because he wasn’t biologically related.

    • @Vassilinia
      @Vassilinia 4 ปีที่แล้ว +32

@@mega20able rather than thinking he was going to die, this song really drove home the severity of the situation. For me this was the first time in the whole series Phoenix was well and truly cornered. No last minute gambit to make, no evidence or breakthrough at the end to save him. He was all out of luck, all out of chances, all out of hope. And then they slammed him with the guilty verdict. He'd failed, and more than his own death he was probably stricken by the thought that Maya was going to die because of him.
Every time the song was used (Trucy's trial, Maya's, and the final case), it was done to great effect. Using it only once would have been criminal.

People forget that this theme plays when Phoenix loses his composure after bluffing and fighting so hard, so long, so painfully, all to save the life of Maya, and finally breaks down when that stress plus Apollo's unsympathy and misunderstandings become too much. Nothing will beat the big reveal, but this to me was the second saddest part in all of Spirit of Justice. Seeing Phoenix break and apologize to Apollo made my heart cry.

Apollo's gone through so much shit, man.
    From memory:
His father died when he was a baby. This'll come into play later.
He was adopted by Dhurke. Later, he almost drowned. The Ga'ran regime on its own is a bad thing.
He moved to the United States to start a law career, where he met Clay Terran.
I think it was around here that his mother got shot (not like he ever knew her), causing her memory loss.
He graduated, and started practicing law. On his very first case, his mentor, Kristoph Gavin, was found out to be a criminal and arrested. On the same trial, he met former courtroom legend Phoenix Wright and his adopted daughter, who is coincidentally Apollo's half-sister, Trucy.
Later on, he proved Kristoph guilty of another crime.
He met Athena Cykes, along with a newly reinstalled Phoenix Wright. They proceeded to solve a few cases.
Clay Terran was murdered at the space center, and Apollo suspects Athena did it. It all goes downhill from here.
Apollo starts doubting his ideals and everything the Wright Anything Offices stand for, begging for Phoenix to clear his doubts with evidence while imitating the coldest person he knows, Kristoph Gavin.
His doubts are cleared, as he sets out to solve the case with Phoenix and Athena.
Trucy's framed for a crime she didn't commit and, in Phoenix's absence, defends her succesfully.
Dhurke, his adoptive father, leader of the Defiant Dragons, returns from Khu'rain in search of the Founder's Orb.
Apollo and Dhurke go to Kurain Village to search for the Founder's Orb. After a gruelling journey where they start to bond with each other, they find it... only for Phoenix Wright to claim that it belongs to Paul Atishon, willing to take it to court.
Take it to court they do, and Apollo manages to beat Phoenix, only to find out that Maya had been kidnapped and Phoenix coerced to work for them, revealed to be Inga Khar'kuul(?) Khu'rain, Khu'rain's justice minister.
They all go to Khu'rain, where Dhurke goes to save Maya... only to apparently kill Inga himself.
The following trial goes on as normal, until... the possibility that Dhurke was dead all along arises. It then becomes the only possibility... which turns out to be right. Dhurke had been shot to death by Inga days prior. Apollo has a breakdown.
Apollo recovers shortly after, and finds out that his biological father had been hired by Dhurke to play for Amara, former queen of Khu'rain, and that current queen Ga'ran was responsible for the fire that killed his father.
Apollo then goes on to corner Ga'ran and, later, stay in Khu'rain to start rebuilding the legal system.

Probably the top 3 moments were
When Nahyuta destroys Phoenix's reasoning and he gets a Guilty verdict,
When Dhurke reveals that he's going to die soon,
And of course, when Apollo finds out that Dhurke is dead.

With lines that sound like they could be taught in a goddamn college level English class and characters you could ABSOLUTELY write essays on. They really need to market it better so more people can experience the sheer unbridled pain, strife, etc. that the games deliver. Spoiler warning
I really didn't want to believe that Dhurke was dead. It hit me during the second trial after remembering how the memories worked for Tahrust, and I really didn't want to think the same thing happened to Dhurke. When I was told to select a profile on who was being channeled, even though I predicted it, it still hit like a truck. It felt like Apollo could finally meet with his long-lost father, and Dhurke's last wish was not only to see the revolution succeed, but to see Apollo one last time. And to think you could grow so attached to a character after just one case.
