    I agree with Dave. Start planning and get things in motion. But realistically most women can't work from home uninterrupted with very young children. I can't tell you how many meetings my son has interrupted meetings and such. You also risk kids getting hurt if you're not watching them 24/7. It only takes seconds for them to do something. Now CPS is on your case and stuff. Being a SAHM and working from home is a great idea in theory but hard in practice. Her best bet will be to take students in the evening or on weekends when her husband can watch the baby.

      It's not fair to paying customers to be distracted by a baby. I'm saying this as a mom myself. If my kids tutor showed up to a session whether online or in person with a baby in tow it would be a hard no from me. Realistically, it will involve outside childcare or both parents going down to part time which isn't the same thing as being a full time SAHM.

    The problem of tutoring is it happens after schools and before kids go to bed and sometimes weekends. So basically at your prime hours where you want to be with your kids. So a steady 9-5 is better. Always the same struggle with news parents: need money and have no time. The only solution is to work for a crazy hour rate. If you are a specialist, good for you. But this does happens in one night, it took a good planning since high school and dedication. A co-worker STAH wife told me once at the Christmas party “Oh, lucky you! I didn’t there is woman in this team. You are the only woman engineer here!” I reply “ yes! I’m a pretty lucky girl! I found a diploma inside my cereal boxe a couples years ago!” Lol

And as a woman , I will highly recommend to this new mom to keep a active working life, even if she decide to reduice the amount of working hours, because you never know what kind of curl ball life will throw you.

    If she wanted a man who was going to be the breadwinner and allow her to stay at home she should have picked a guy who makes good money like a tradesmen. Although her starting her own business will probably be a better long term strategy for her because it will mean she will have work after the kid(s) grow up.

    Im a very busy mom, working outside of my home. Everytime I go home from work, I have no energy to take care of my kids and manage my household. Im just too tired and mentally exhausted. I want to stay home with my kids and have a nice and clean home. But my husband wants me to work and grind because he thinks that SAHM are lazy people. I earn money so much more than him and since he wants this equality, I let him do almost all the household chores because Im bringing more money than him and I just sit all day on the couch on my off days. He even wants me to do some side hustle, I told him that he should be the one who should bring the extra cash because hes the provider and the man of the family. Men nowadays are feminized and weak. When I had my kids, I never thought of wanting to be a SAHM this bad because my mind was so conditioned that being a career woman is the only way to go. I was wrong. I guess I just married the wrong guy because all he cares for is the money that I should be contributing to run our home. I have no respect left for my husband.

    This is really a problem for a lot of women who have babies and then decide they don’t want to work anymore. It’s not fair to husbands/father’s to put the financial burden of being the sole provider on his shoulders, especially when neither of you makes that much money to begin with. If she can build a successful business, she’s going to find that she can’t do it with a baby around. She will still have to hire help or use daycare. She is going to be stressed out - taking care of a baby all day, do the day to day home thing - dinner, bills, laundry, cleaning, etc and run a business.

    • @NadyaPena-01
      @NadyaPena-01 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hold up, Patti. There are more variables to to consider before saying who’s being fair to whom. It’s very possible that the wife is the one making most of the money. He said their combined income is $80k and the average teacher pay in VA is around $60k which means he’s probably earning peanuts for his work and she’s the breadwinner. If that’s the case then he is the one who needs to step it up and make money. It would have been interesting to know the breakdown of the debts. Again, it would be a totally different story if it turns out it’s mostly his debt when he’s probably not making the bulk of the income.
