In all honesty, if you're in a situation with someone like this, my recommendation is you remain calm and de-escalate. Sure, maybe it would have gone okay in a fight. Maybe the old guy would've run out of steam too quickly to do damage, or maybe the first swing would've killed a kid or knocked him out long enough for further blows to finish the job. This specific guy might be mostly talk, but not everyone is. You can always contact authorities after the situation has stabilized and the enemy retreated.

In all honesty, if you're in a situation with someone like this, my recommendation is you remain calm and de-escalate. Sure, maybe it would have gone okay in a fight. Maybe the old guy would've run out of steam too quickly to do damage, or maybe the first swing would've killed a kid or knocked him out long enough for further blows to finish the job. This specific guy might be mostly talk, but not everyone is. You can always contact authorities after the situation has stabilized and the enemy retreated.
