I heard Bethesda had to dumb down the AI for Oblivion. The way they had it, the npcs were actually killing each other. The npcs had needs. Like to eat for example. So a beggar would steal food to eat, which would cause a guard to attack. Then the beggars friends would join in, and well, you had a huge war in the city
The game Kenshi has a lot of in in some places, like the cities of Shark and Flats Lagoon. Those cities have turret defenses, but their shooters tend to injure others due to a low Precision stat. NPCs that injure another faction's NPCs also damage their faction's relationships with each other. In towns with lots of different factions like Shark, this ultimately leads to both factions going hostile and killing each other.
There's a Monty Pythonesque humor to Oblivion that I feel won't be seen again. The game starts so seriously and then introduces you to so much uncanny hilarious moments while still remaining atmospheric and ominous at times. Truly a gaming masterpiece.

I liked how the Grey Fox acts surprised to see someone wearing his mask, and immediately thinks it's the Grey Fox, even though he was the Grey Fox. And yes, I know the mask changes reality, but it's still funny. It is one of the best items in the game, since you effectively transform into a different person when you wear it - like Batman - and you can do whatever you want, then remove the mask and avoid all consequences.
Nah man, He’s the Gray Fox. He just surprised to see the Grey Fox. Different spelling so totally different. Ignore the subtitles. Their spelling is merely a….. a mistake.

I remember being absolutely amazed by how immersive this game was when I first played it. Some memories that will stay with me forever. And now there is nothing funnier than these crazy moments people find. The one at 2:22 is absolute gold.
Well, the Gray Fox mask part actually is explained in lore. (spoilers I guess) While wearing the mask the wearer's original identity is completely obscured from all forms of identification. And when the mask is removed, any ties to the Gray Fox are removed immediately. This is a blessing and a curse. Because until the player character gets it it has a curse that it cant be removed.
The cowl can be removed, but all traces of the wearer's identity disappear for as long as the curse is in effect, even if the cowl is removed. It's not until the end of the Thieves Guild questline that the curse is finally broken.
When i first played through oblivion, I abused the gray fox trick to slaughter guards so I could sell their armor. Now of course, I had not discovered Dorian by this point.
the cowl of the grey fox and its associated glichiness with the AI always felt oddly appropriate for a daedric artifact that was directly affecting people's minds
