This modification helped me positively in my Impact .30 700mm, since I work at high regulations 165 bar - NSA 61g at 1000fps and that is when the difference is most noticeable, with lower regulations the rifle works with less stress and vibrations are less . Nice video 👍
That goes right along with what I have been thinking for a while Tom. The faster and heavier the projectile, the more "whip" at the end of the barrel. One probably would not need the stiffeners with lower speed lighter pellets (although it is STILL worth the money to eliminate the orings), but as you go up in energy you should see advantages to using stiffer materials that also can absorb some of that energy to reduce it. Wish I had a high speed camera to actually shoot different variations with the gun locked in place to show it.

@surreallife777 I shoot lighter weight slugs up to 25gr all day from my standard liner in my Maverick and it shoots perfect. In my Panthera I have a slug liner and shoot 30gr with sub MOA accuracy. I am considering getting a Maverick and would like to ask you what you think of it now that you have had it quite a while? What are the positives and negatives? I am considering a Maverick or Impact M3.
Well, let me tell you, the Maverick is my favorite FX platform. That's why I have two of them. Compared to the Impact, which is a phenomenal gun that I also own, the Maverick offers an easier ownership experience in terms of tuning and maintenance while still maintaining the legendary accuracy you've come to expect from FX. The Maverick has something like 13 or 14 sealing o-rings while the Impact has like 37. That makes the Maverick WAY easier to work on. Its brilliance is in its simplicity. Also the Maverick has a 89cc plenum to the Impact's 72cc's - so it is capable of huge power - although so is the Impact due to the advanced valving - but the Maverick can do it at very low pressure. Also, unlike the Impact, the Maverick's dual regs are both externally adjustable for easy tuning, and the tuning itself is easier than the Impact due to far fewer things to mess with. However, the Impact is a lot lighter and more wieldy, a lot of that has to do it being shorter (in same barrel length) than the Maverick because the barrel goes back further. The Impact is also not as tall. You can't go wrong with either gun but if you are newer to high-end PCPs I'd recommend the Maverick 100%. It is also about 500 bucks cheaper. Hope this helps!
@@airshootist Thank you very much for that perspective! What would you say is the difference between Impact and Maverick in maximum power? Is it a big difference, or quite small?

I haven't tested it past the few shots in this video. Initial thoughts are there is no improvement in accuracy - however, as I said in the video - the benefit here may be that your barrel will not be as susceptible to being knocked around and losing POI. The barrel does feel stiffer to the touch. Will be testing over the life of the gun and hopefully I'll have some more observations to report soon. Thanks for watching!

@@airshootist Thx a lot. Would You recommend SH4 6-24X50 GEN2 FFP MIL VPR over Element Optics HELIX 6-24×50 FFP? I saw some very good reviews about arken scope.
@@nicke.3536 there is a reason that literally everyone in the airgun world is using the Helix FFP. It's cheap and the quality is outstanding. Clicks are clear and the tracking is legendary. I can adjust 40 MOA and dial back to zero and it's perfect. Also the adjustable zero stop is a good feature. You cannot go wrong with the Helix and that's what I recommend. Now there is even a lower magnification Helix available, too, if that's more what you need. Get the Helix. You will not be let down.
Making shots out to 150 yards with the standard liner is no problem with 23 and 25 grain slugs. I have a heavy liner but have never installed it due to how great it shoots with the stock liner!
epoxy'ing the liner to the sleeve would improve rigidity... or Fx could stop using brake line for a barrel on $1500-$2000 guns... that'd be nice too lol.
Sorry, but how can you possibly show us the difference between the two when you don't bother testing off a sturdy bench or table? I was hoping to see if the liner actually made a difference, but you just show how to make the swap. The accuracy test was before and after was mute. Make another one using a proper shooting setup.
@@midwestairgunner8500 yeahhhh..... I'm not gonna do that. The value here is the installation procedure. This was one of my first videos ever. The CF sleeve is definitely a good upgrade, all your FX guns should have it. Really helps with POI shift after being stored a while or getting the barrel bonked. That gun will 1-shot my 150 yard 4" plate after sitting under my bed for 4 months.
What do you mean it doesn't fit? Around the barrel liner or inside the barrel sleeve? Sometimes it might be a tight fit, but it should go. Make sure you have removed the orings that are around the barrel liner from the factory.
its to tight in the sleeve by quite a bit the orings are out and cleaned everything and checked it with a borescope. one couldn't even get past the threads without getting completely stuck. I started sanding 1 but it will have to get into the fibers before it fits @@airshootist
Dang sounds like you know what you're doing to test it but also what you need to do to make it fit. They are supposed to be tight so with a little extra elbow grease I am sure you'll be fine. Be careful sanding carbon fiber, wear a good mask, if you breathe those fibers in they permanently lodge in your lungs.
While that is generally true, I wanted to show all the components a little better. Also if you torque on it too hard while in the gun you may start to unscrew your transfer port so I wanted to avoid that.

What kind of scope do U have installed? (full options: scope camera, etc). I'd like to buy same setup. thx
Scope is an Element Optics HELIX 6-24×50 FFP, and it is amazing. Scope is sitting on FX No Limit adjustable 30mm mounts. I am using a Side Shot scope cam, with the universal cell phone attachment. I am filming everything with a Samsung S10E at 30fps (even though I think it can do 60fps). ....Yes, I use a cell phone for all my footage. 👍
@@airshootist thx for real answer!!!
what case is that you have your maveric in ?
Its a Plano, I have a whole other review video on it you may wanna check out
Outstanding tutorial!
This looks like a good upgrade. Perhaps paired with the superior geavy slug liner.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Making shots out to 150 yards with the standard liner is no problem with 23 and 25 grain slugs. I have a heavy liner but have never installed it due to how great it shoots with the stock liner!
MEVRİK MEVRİK MEVRİK YES 👌👍😊
👍
epoxy'ing the liner to the sleeve would improve rigidity... or Fx could stop using brake line for a barrel on $1500-$2000 guns... that'd be nice too lol.
What kind of case is this?
Plano. I have another video where I review it. Check that out
Sorry, but how can you possibly show us the difference between the two when you don't bother testing off a sturdy bench or table? I was hoping to see if the liner actually made a difference, but you just show how to make the swap. The accuracy test was before and after was mute. Make another one using a proper shooting setup.
@@midwestairgunner8500 yeahhhh..... I'm not gonna do that. The value here is the installation procedure. This was one of my first videos ever. The CF sleeve is definitely a good upgrade, all your FX guns should have it. Really helps with POI shift after being stored a while or getting the barrel bonked. That gun will 1-shot my 150 yard 4" plate after sitting under my bed for 4 months.
i bought 3 of the carbon liners and none them fit i have the worst luck with FX
Its much handier if you let it locked in the rifle. So you can unscrew it much easyer
While that is generally true, I wanted to show all the components a little better. Also if you torque on it too hard while in the gun you may start to unscrew your transfer port so I wanted to avoid that.
Barrel to Bottle Band will stiffen it considerably.
Ive got 2 separate barrel bands to review after i finally get out of this hospital. Stay tuned, Jim!
Not to tight, just handtight....
Subbed for the helpful content and because you find it cringe to ask for likes and subs lol.
Sub'd to your channel because fishing is dope and I like having internet buddies 🤠
Your shooting off hand can’t really judge weather it helped or not.. try a bench
use a bench.you should know better that was terrible!!!!!
ReeeEEEeeeeeEEEeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEee!!!!!
Thanks so much for contributing here with your superior intellect and original comment! Much appreciated!!!! 💋 😘 😍 🥰
Some people epoxy the hole thing
I did not do that because I want to eventually put the slug liner in it. I have it, just havent installed it. I wanna shoot all my lighter ammo first (1000s of rounds)
Accuracy should be tested at 100 yards & more with modern pcps.
