    What a super diverse and amazing place Dolly Sods is. Im Pennsylvania based, but exploring the Sods is a dream of mine. West Virginia in my opinion is the most gorgeous and wild landscape in the east, south of the Daks and Whites. Great video Buckley!

    MOIST! Despite the rain, it looks like you guys had a blast out there! That dog bone is a great addition to your pack set up! Just when you extend a helping hand, you land in the water. Looks like Sarah is a HUGE fan of SouthernHike! Hammock Paradise with all those trees! Those sandos look like a great way to end a awesome hike with friends!

    Dolly Sods trip… nice! Even if I was hoping you were coming a little further East across PA. Happy to see you’re doing well. Hilltop coffee is amazing, wish I didn’t have to have it shipped. Looking forward to your next adventure.

    14:13. Those are rhododendron maximum. They are also called great laurel. Mountain laurel are smaller bushes with smaller leaves and flower clusters.
    Phaert!
    Dolly Sodden should be another name for the place, like Vermud.
    It reminds me of Grayson Highlands, minus the ponies and longhorns. That was wild!
    You might want to check out Lion's Head on the eastern side of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire.

    What a gorgeous place west Virginia is! On our hiking bucket list for sure😊👌. All that mud reminded us of winter hikes in the British countryside🤣. Loved the music choices as always. This looked like a really fun couple of days with great company👌. The lions head was incredible 🤩 🦁. Nicely timed view point too just before the cloud rolled in!👍. Lots of laughs as always, we have missed your videos. More please!😊👊. Have a great weekend, Shell and Pete

    I never just set up a tarp like that. Seems like it would be easier to set up, than a regular tent.

    • @BackpackingwithBuckley
      @BackpackingwithBuckley  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It works great! I'd like to try just setting a tent under the tarp sometime instead of a rainfly.

      I'll be back. What loop do you suggest Hoot?

    • @hootonthetrail3894
      @hootonthetrail3894 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BackpackingwithBuckley Not necessarily a loop, it is if you do the perimeter of the Sods. Should have rephrased that. Anyways, we like starting at Bear Rock Trailhead. Taking 522 to 521 then connecting with 524. Just enjoy the plateaus & views you experience off the bat. Before you start venturing into the canopy of the half dozen different forest that awaits you.
      Btw..digging the NEW Black Keys? Or is that a cover?
