Welcome to WV! You boys did the really hard way up to the Lion's head. That's what I call earning a beautiful campsite. When I saw you going down Big Stonecoal trail, I was shouting NOOOOO! Glad you had a good time!

I went up the same way to Lions Head but just stopped at the top of the first boulder field. My buddy didn't want to climb up there so I didn't go any further. But the coolest thing was when I climbed back down it started to rain pretty good for about 15 minutes while we continued on. As soon as it stopped raining we round this turn with my buddy in front of me about 30 feet or so. He's not looking up and the huge ass bear is not looking up either. It was just above the trail by like 10 feet. When I said "Whoa Bear!" I scared the shit outta both of them. The bear just took off down the hill across the trail towards red creek. I'll tell ya, black bears can run fast as F down hill. Good times and that was also Hee Haw funny looking at my buddy's face.

You need a Hemlock Mt Outdoors dragon snare to hold your water bottle! Did you notice how Alex set up his tent a good 100 ft. away from you guys? I think it was to reduce the chance of Restless sleepwalking his way into his tent! Great trip you guys... cool area and fun times for all! Thanks for sharing Buddy!
🤣... ya... by the second night I think the trust building exercises we conducted throughout the day helped because he only stayed 75 ft away from me....LOL!
Usually we run into the luck with everyone having a hammock and not enough tree's. Really nice hike and get together. YAY Alex stuck through it and hiked out with you all in the morning. Rain or shine hiking goes on.
Loved this video! The Sods look amazing in this one. The colors just pop! And everybody's positive attitude and good natured sense of humor made this a fun one to watch.

also ive seen the biggest timber rattler ive ever seen in my life (4ft +)scrambling up rocks like that to lions head blazing my own trail, its a little early for that but give it about 10-15 days from now, scary stuff
Just got to the end. WTH are you talking about they don't mark anything? I never came to a trail crossing that wasn't marked. Think you missed something there there guys. Great watching you guys!. Timmy reminds me of the guy from Curb Your Enthusiasm. I think Jeff was his name in the show.
🤣...ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! LOL! No... I agree the trail intersections are marked pretty well... but there were a few times we lost the trail due to no blazes... all in all... it's not a huge park so it's hard to really get lost.... like for good...🤣

We have been there all week.Hiked in on Blackbird knob trail on May 4th and hike out May 10th.Had a great time and great weather.
