In this video today I show you some tips and troubleshooting steps to get rid of that 8027025A Error on Xbox One, more commonly known as the "Took too long" error when you try to startup a game or application on the Xbox One Console.

I remember once upon a time, you would buy a game out right and not need to download patches to make the game work. you simply put the game you wanted to play into the console, turn it on, and enjoy! THIS magical device was the 360, and other consoles. there was DLC, but THIS wasn't necessary if you just wanted to play the base game. I have the xbox1 and often find myself saying "why the he'll didn't I get a PS4?" this video us really helpful, but shouldn't be necessary. Microsoft seriously needs to fix this fucking thing, not sponsor videos on how to do a programmers fuck up fix.
I remember those times as well, It's because games have gotten to the point where they require faster mediums to load from. That's why all games need to be installed to a hard drive now as opposed to running off of a Blu-Ray disc, DVD's can spin much faster than a Blu-Ray. The same was with HD-DVD discs, but since Blu-Ray won the format war and is the standard, we're kind of stuck with it. Except for Nintendo and the Nintendo Switch, but they don't have high enough capacity to allow for many of the games and the cost of manufacturing the cards are expensive.
I'll also mention, that Microsoft doesn't sponsor me in anyway to make these videos. I do them on my own time and at my own free will. It it because they install it so the disc doesnt spin so it does not scratch the disk like the 36p did
i've used both consoles a decent amount and can say that they're both shit consoles with a lot of bugs. but xb1 probably has a lot shittier things about it than the ps4. microsoft has a lot of broken shit and they do it on purpose, it's called planned obsolescence. The windows 10 os sucked balls so the xb1 was bound to suck balls as well.
Remember when Microsoft advertised this as “The Most Powerful Gaming System Ever?”

@@FAM297 do it exactly this way to get to the menu and then do factory reset but keep games and apps. You will have to download your Xbox live profile again, but you keep all of your saves and important things. This worked for me. Fingers crossed it works for you as well!

Thanks, you were right. I switch off my xbox one and took out the plug for about a minute - and when i switch it back on it loaded in the game without any trouble "thanks"....

Dude what if your Xbox won't load anything? My shit won't even load the settings app. I'm seething with fuckin anger this is so stupid. I can't sign in I can't play a game I can't open a app I can't open settings and it takes so long to even register any button I push on my controller this is stupid I didn't pay $500 for this shit. I've had more problems on an Xbox 360 but this is just ridiculous and not right . More than likely I bet my Xbox is done. Fuckin stupid
Sounds like an update error, easily fixed though, run through this guide: support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults to reset the console to factory defaults, use the option to keep your games and apps. You'll need to sign into your account again, but won't need to reinstall anything. I've had that happen to me and this fixed it.

So I first tried moving the game I was trying to play (battlefield 4) from my hard drive to internal storage, which didn’t work. I then tried to hard reset with no luck. Lastly I did the factory reset and it seems to have worked. I hope this problem does not persist. Thank you so much for the upload!!! Thumbs up from me

Been 5 years and still works
I have a different problem it says “Network Trouble Shooter has taken to long to start” and every time I try to go to settings and go to network settings the screen goes dim and I can’t do anything. Which results in the error code to pop up again

I unplugged my external storage device while my Xbox was off, then turned my Xbox back on and plugged my external storage device back in and all my games that I had on that external storage device (about 25 games) were immediately uninstalled. And with my internet, it will take a good year to reinstall all of them.
But I'm sure this was all my fault.

Thanks dude!! My Xbox completely shut down on me, I mean, it would boot up, but EVERYTHING would give me this error code. I couldnt report problems in the Insider Hub, couldn’t load the Dashboard, couldn’t even get to settings. After a few hard resets, the silly thing managed to let me into the settings so I could factory reset but keep all my games and apps. Boom, problem solved. But....why did it happen In the first place? I didn’t do any new updates or install any new games, just turned it off. Though I usually keep it on, keep it be nearing the end of its life? I keep it on all night n stuff but not anymore

Yeah my problem seems to be the new external hdd I got is clashing with the Xbox one software after the last update so when the Xbox one console is in sleep mode too long my internal hdd even has issues with loading because of the eternal hdd and the game is installed on the internal and when I go to start a game or even signing in I get the error but when I unplugged the external everything is fine again.
Will the hard reset delete all my skyrim and fallout mods though?
Edit: just did it and it worked. Also the mods need to be reinstalled but they stay in your library so you don't need to find them all again if anyone else was worried about mods.

That data is stored in the cloud, so long as you're connected to Xbox Live. So it should re-sync back if the data is removed from the console locally.
Please help me I cant load a game it wont work it says takes to long to start or it will load but it takes like 30 to 1 hour to load and I cant play online it wont start on black ops3 but I even did that factory reset didn't work at all

TwiceTheCharm You delete the reserved space then go into the game it should work... I play some 2k too and this happens to me on multiple games. But whatever you do, when u go back in after deleting reserved space, do not press cancel when it says retrieving data for it will corrupt all your data for the game. Hope this helps

I do have to ask if you know what to do when your games are on an external hard drive. I've been using a seagate for about a year and a half with no issues what so ever until a day ago. now anything on my external drive makes this error but my internal drive is fine
+Frothy Raptor I'd try different USB cables and ports on the console to start, it's possible the drive is failing, but those would be the first steps I'd take.
