Just today I was playing apex when I was booted out of my game and I couldn’t log into any other game. I restarted my console and it said I wasn’t Connected to xbox live and my xbox was lagging a lot. I clear my MAC address and boom xbox is literally perfectly fine like nothing happened. If this didn't fix your issue, this may not have been your issue. This was also from 2 years ago, so you are using an old fix on what may be a new problem...

It does nothing , it's the step Xbox use to use to reboot the system. Now you can just go to the restart button they installed. Alternate Mac address is for connecting to private networks.
@Reloaded Past Sorry, When people called the customer support team they gave the instruction to clear the Mac address as this did a hard reset. The same as holding on to the Xbox one button for 8 seconds . The reason behind this was that people weren't holding the power off button for the right time. it has something to do with the networking card affecting the OS on the console...it simulates a slow xbox dashboard or UI but if you remove the disconnect your ethernet cable or wifi on the xbox...it goes back to normal performance speed. xbox has sold us all lemons tbh....

Clearing the mac addresses solved all the problems ive been having for weeks and it was amazing, then i went to install a game and my whole console froze and i had to hard reset, now my dashboard wont load at all. I keep getting an error saying its taking too long to start.

Yeah, mine started acting up a couple months ago and it’s so slow that my settings won’t even open to try out some of these tips. Sucks because my old PS3 slim works absolutely fine, while my One and 360 are really wonky after some years. Definitely agree that Microsoft most likely does this. Xbox one s. Disk drive stopped working after update over a year ago, so I started using game pass. Haven’t gamed in over 6 months just use it for TH-cam, worked fine last night and today I can’t even open network settings to hard reset/clear alt mac. Deleted saved games and all chats and apps and followed every step I was able to from this video and nothing has changed. This console has been nothing but problems, PS4 and Xbox 360 work just fine still.
Mine hasn’t been working all day. Been working on it for 2 hours now. Tried everything through the very slow loading and laggy screen, along with the countless “took too long to load” screens. Now it just shows a black screen whenever I turn it on. Any help?
For me what I did remove all power cables from the xbox and remove tbe power cables from your ports for at least a day then plug it back in and should work fine it worked for me

If you haven't yet, try a soft factory reset. (Get to the menu holding down the eject, sync, and power button until you hear it beep twice) I've had to do this tens of times over the past couple months, but it's the only method I can find that works

Yeah u have to try to reset it. It happened to me but when you go to reset eventually a black screen will pop up with like 3 different options and click the one that doesn’t say reset and keep doing that till it works again
My xbox one was on the energy saving mode already but I believe that is what was making my game downloads slower because as soon as I turned it to instant on it started downloading my games a bit faster.
Problem fixed: For everyone watching my xbox suffered from extreme menu lag, couldnt use the store and would freeze and crash constantly on home but was fine playing games (when it actually let me launch them), i was also not able to reset my console as it wouldnt turn back on etc... I fixed this by Removing myself from the Xbox preview program, i think its their software updates which broke mine. I used the insider hub on PC to do this. After i factory reset my xbox completely (removed everything including profiles, apps etc...) By booting it up in troubleshooter mode or you can do it in the settings i think. It then sets up like a new xbox and gives you the current OS updates. My xbox is now completely fixed after months. Comment if you have trouble with any of this and will help if i see the comment. cheers
before you do this check your Current OS, If your current OS doesnt say something along the lines of 19041........... _xbox_dev2010...... (thats what mine was) then this might not work as you may have the normal OS already anyway. hope this helps anyone as its very frustrating

I had this annoying problem with Xbox360 backwards compatible games lagging on my Xbox One X (they previously ran flawlessly). I did steps 1 - 3 and they seem to have solved the problem! I think it was related to the BluRay cache or Mac Adress thing. Anyways, thank you for improving my experience with Midnight Club LA :)

Glad to hear some OGs hanging around. I've still got my DayOne OG Fatboy. The fan used to spin up really loud when switching games/apps. Now I never hear the fan spin. Its probably cooked. I'm really hoping she makes it to One X launch day.

Make sure your Xbox is up to date as well even if it hasn't said "hey you absolutely need to update." Check it anyways maybe it will fix something on that Xbox brain drive or sumthin
reset xbox. Once off hold sync button and eject together, turn on xbox while still holding the two buttons together. it will take you to a reset screen. reset without deleting games and app.
This helps alot when I play Phantasy Star Online 2 or Path of Exike and the game rubber band lags. If you have issues with that on PSO2 or POE on Xbox One S, try this.

Do a factory reset, hold the disc eject, controller sync and power buttons for 10 seconds until you hear 2 power-on chirps to open the factory reset menu.

The pop up keyboard when typing is very slow to appear. And if I’m on a game and want to close it the menu to do that takes about 15 seconds

if u have over 80% on storage of games it will also run slow, suggest to keep it under 80%

Great video, also worth noting that in game lag can often be reduced by rebooting your modem. I have to reboot mine about once a week

Make sure your Xbox is up to date as well even if it hasn't said "hey you absolutely need to update." Check it anyways maybe it will fix something on that Xbox brain drive or sumthin

My console stays on the green screen for ages, too many damn updates and fiddling (I’m an insider) I blame all the constant updates
reset xbox. Once off hold sync button and eject together, turn on xbox while still holding the two buttons together. it will take you to a reset screen. reset without deleting games and app.
This helps alot when I play Phantasy Star Online 2 or Path of Exike and the game rubber band lags. If you have issues with that on PSO2 or POE on Xbox One S, try this.

Unplugging for 30 seconds will clear the cache and can help stop glitches and slowed operations.
So whenever I press the home button it kinda just gets like a transparent gray screen for like a minute then when it does load up my bumpers won’t move to the sides.Will this work?

Carson The Wolfy YEAH! It’s not our WiFi it’s the servers. I tried talking to the support team and they told me to check for scratches on my disk, but my game is internally stalled. But my connection is bad between 9am to like 6pm every other game I play like RB6 I run a straight 9 ping so it’s obviously the servers
@@slimejr2449 mine is usually from 9pm-4am. It sucks that this is happening and hopefully theres a fix to it.

you can also do a factory reset which will also help a ton it just depends on time if you dont mind waiting for all your games to redownload

Do a factory reset, hold the disc eject, controller sync and power buttons for 10 seconds until you hear 2 power-on chirps to open the factory reset menu.

@@SerFifer It gives you the option to keep your saved content. You would have to sign into your Xbox live account to retrieve your saves.

@@Itachiww24 games are saved so you don't have to re-download. You will have to sign into your accounts again.
