Everyone this really works!! Thanks whoever made this! If your controller turns off like mine did swap the batteries or turn off your Xbox and turn it on and try again. Try to turn on your controller and try the trick before 1 minute of the green screen!

I've been having problems with my Xbox freezing and getting the green screen of death.
This worked and saved me having to do a reset factory setting. Fingers crossed it lasts.

Legit i was panicking when my green screen happened but even on the xbox one s it works so before the screen takes black and when your controllers start button turns full not blinking press it so it vibrates press the 3 lined button and fixed it took 30 secs for me no cap but man
It worked. I had to plug in the USB for my wireless controller because it would not vibrate. It finally vibrated after hooking it up, hit the button and 2 minutes later it worked.

anyone else's control just turn off after holding it? even when fully charged
My controller turned off as well in my first attempt, you have to put it back on then hold and try again it will vibrate. It may take like 3 attempts or less if it doesnt, but it will work don't give up. No need to formate your xbox.

If you have a white Xbox one this worked for me, turn on Xbox, press and hold at same time the eject disc button and the button that links your controller to the console (underneath the power on/off button) you will then get options, soon as you see the options release the two buttons. From there reset factory settings.
