Thanks for sharing and being so honest. I agree with you regarding the pay issues. (I'm not a doctor), but I'm very supportive of all medical staff getting fair pay for the incredible work you/they do. You're doing great, sweetheart big hugs to you .❤❤
Thanks so so much for watching and the kind words, it really means a lot 🥲💞
I’m so pleased you’ve had a positive experience in your first few months of F1. I had a ROUGH first rotation; frequently left alone to look after 30 patients spread over 5 wards, 12 days in a row, assessing unwell patients on my own etc. (my second rotation was so much better 🙏🏻) Thankfully it seems like a lot has changed from 2014 and I’m so here to continue watching your journey 🫶🏻
just binged a few of ur vids! as a 17 year old who's gonna be applying for med in october i really appreciate seeing the honest reality of it! deffo gonna be watching you for a long time now 💕💕
aah me too!! i've got an AAB offer from uni of nottingham :D waiting on 1 more decision but im so thrilled - congrats on your offer!!
so proud of how you’ve grown Faye
continuing to influence all of us aspiring medics
gosh your eyes are beautiful, i just found your yt channel and hour ago alredy obsessed ur so real and i really relate to you i have always wanted to become a doctor/neurologist because i think its the best job and i cant see myself doing any other job and i need something to keep my mind busy bc i get bored too easily and i want to make myself proud. love you❤❤
thank you so much, i love the Q&A's (maybe even more than the vlogs), it was really interesting !
Even though I'm not a doctor, your videos are still helpful for me and it is nice hearing about experiences in a career path different from mine! I'm glad you are enjoying life as a doctor ❤
So happy you still enjoy the videos 🫶🏼
so proud of you faye
I would love to see a video about doctors vs PA’s - general discussion of roles, pay etc.
Congrats Faye 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 You are such a humble, loving and very involved doctor, who actually cares for people - which it's becoming a raretly nowadays. Could not agree 💯💯💯 with you more : when politics interfere in people's health and sometimes life - especially by these so called "health laws" , coming from People who have nothing To do with this area. The inequality of payment in health sector and the hours medics and nurses puts definitely 💯 a Big shock. Currently in my country the people from medical field started massive protests and threatened to including block the health care because of so law salaries.
Take care Faye and keep fallowing your Passion ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for all the kind words!! It’s really means a lot 🥹
ILYSM FAYE!!! thanks for anotha video!!, currently watching all ur exam season vlogs, cause that season is upon me now lol
Omg best of luck for exam season!! Sending lotsa good vibes 🫶🏼
Thank you so much!!🥺💕 will buy lots and lots of 🫐 blueberries:D
I’m not an MD doctor but I am graduating this May with my PhD in Applied Math to become a diff kind of Dr lol 😝 so your journey through graduation, starting your career, and balancing TH-cam really resonates with me and inspires me to keep going. I always learn so much from your videos so I’m glad to hear it’s going so well! Sending you love + positivity 💕✨
Faye ! You'd be such a good podcaster !!!
Absolutely love your channel, your vids make my day, could you make more week/day in the life videos pls 🥰 also could you make a playlist for studying/assignments/exam seasons? 🥰
Thank you! Sorry I know the weekly/daily vlogs are more popular but filming around work/not being able to film at work/editing means I really can’t do more than 1 every 1-2 months :( even if I send the footage to an editor, there ends up being so many footage it’s a full time job sending it over AND I’m sooooo picky about how the vlogs are edited, I just haven’t found away to make it work :(
Great video thank you x
maybe the fact that you like everything means u could be perfect for GP. good life balance too i think and maybe chances for owning own clinic etc.
or maybe uk equivalent of internal medicine or ed
Thank you for sharing! I’ve been a subscriber for years and it’s amazing to see how you grew into your job ☺️Love the editing! Hugs from Austria
Loved this vid
Thanks so much 🫶🏼

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Just thought I'd offer an alternative perspective. People often state that if you're intellectually capable of becoming a doctor then you could easily carve out a high paying career in other industries. To this I say the grass is always greener. As somebody who has years of experience in my once high paying field, I have been struggling to find employment in this current economy - not just in my niche, but literally any job at this point, I've applied to them all. Not only is work harder to come by, but the lack of job security is so hard to live with. Plus AI is making huge unprecedented strides across various industries too, slowly reducing the need for jobs in these areas. In healthcare at least, and excuse my ignorance, this isn't too much of a worry. Nurses and doctors have some of the most secure jobs a person can have.
Whilst the starting Salaries for PA's are higher there is little room for progression in pay as you are restricted to band 7- bottom of band 8 at a push and most doctors will be earning more as soon as they hit speciality training. I just wanted to add that as I felt it was missing from that section, 100% agree with you that all staff should have access to fair pay!
Pleasseeeee collab with Rachel Southard and do a video on the difference between residency and grad school between the UK and the US
❤
You are making 19 dollars an hour in American money? No way, you can make that at some fast food places here. That’s dedication if those numbers are correct
I literally just got my offer to study medicine and I'm so pumped to be watching this! Coming from nursing do you have any advice for approaching this degree? :)
I’m a Dr . Just to answer I think it will be easier than you think and you will have all the tools already. You will probably be miles ahead of other new students.
@@nazmed8141 Thank you for your reply, I am nervous but hope what you've said is true! I'm just going to do my best to be honest ahaha. Hope medicine is going well for you!
I really hope you guys get more fairly compensated for your role in the healthcare system soon wow. You should come to aus our pay and work culture is so much better! Increasing NP scope and independance in aus might mean we are heading in the same direction as you guys soon though :/
About to start in August and this has been so insightful and helpful, thank you so much!
To the point of envisioning death, I think thats actually some psychological phenomena. I have something similar maybe, sometimes I get really really sad/anxious that my partner will die, or my parents etc. And like imagining the world without them as a bit more sad and not that kind. And to be fair it's a horrible experience, but maybe our brains do that because they want to prepare us for that? I don't know :D.
Faye, random comment- please make video explaining and justifying doctors Handwriting and how to read it.
are there any countries where doctors think are paid fairly?
Love to get your opinion on Katherine. Botched surgery ??
Off topic but the outfit is so good
அருமை❤❤❤
Do you not think PAs are placed on an unfair high level on the AfC ladder? The government is never going to bump everyone else's pay up by what I think would be fair.
I’m a Dr . PAs shouldn’t suffer because we are . We should be treated better . 😊
Wow. I can’t believe you earn so little. Googled the starting Dr wage here in Australia. Apparently it’s $177000. Time to move? 🤔 Mostly commenting so the algorithm pays you what you deserve.
Australia definitely looks very attractive 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I appreciate the support and solidarity with doctors in the uk 🫶🏼
what is the @ of the pregnant final year :)
What is the bandage on your lips for ? They seem much bigger than on your first video.
Faye I would love to know your opinion on nursing salary as well.
Here in AUS nurses are being paid I would say f all for all the tasks + stress and all the things you have mentioned above. Even in a speciality which requires more acute care and more critical thinking you get paid the same as a regular nurse.
I just feel like although yes 100% doctors should be rewarded financially but in some counties such as Australia - they are but the nursing staff are not 😆
Love your content so much. X In my final year as a student nurse and the imposter syndrome and ego bits are so so real. Thank you 🥲 Also you are so glowy and beautiful! Have you got a makeup tutorial/routine?
