Hi Shon, I have a question: Do you recommend to tune the vehicle even if the vehicle is 2008 prado? Because i have heard that it can damage the turbo and the gear. What are your thoughts about this?
Throttle controllers serve a purpose, especially when you set to Eco when you need good control to stop the jerkyness, but the flogs who keep saying it increases power need to be slapped
Turning controller off is not the same as not having a controller in. With the controller fitted, your throttle adjusts to less throttle input due to the controller that boosts the signal. So, after having the controller in for a couple of weeks will result in your throttle to become used to less pedal movement. To bring it back to its original state, a pedal reset needs to be done and its therefore not fare to compare with the controller on vs off. Rather just leave it in auto mode for daily drive and select high or low setting when you really need it.
Awesome product this idrive throttle controller. I have it installed on my LDV T60 and it really does make a world of difference. Cheers from Costa Rica legends!

Is that throttle controller really turned off or is it really working in the background effecting the throttle therefore giving a false reading on there “no throttle controller” test?
M.G. lag take-off .... iDrive EVC715 Ultimate9. Having driven MG vehicles with the take-off, lag that you get when pulling out of an intersection or at traffic lights, etc, is most frustrating, and with the DCT engines, reviewing electronic throttle controllers, they are effective in the response when in motion, but the lag delay up to 2 seconds when pulling away from a stop position makes no noticeable difference from doing a comparison test. So if you want to get one for this specific takeoff lag, sadly don't waste your money. I experimented but was disappointed that it didn't fix this specific lag. I can only speak for the M.G. 2023 HS Excite DCT vehicle.
I see the name has changed, and there are so many similarly named and looking units out there. Is this the same as the Idrive windbooster? That one has a similar look, but above the 'ultimate performance' label, there is an 'idrive' label, but the description of the product on ebay says windbooster.
If they ask so good, why don't manufactures put them as accessories when buying a new vehicle or even put them into the new vehicle in the first place? To take the aftermarket manufacturers out. And no one can give the straight answer. Are you covered by warranty if something happens to the motor and it's still connected to the throttle body loom?
Good video, explained simply and showing measurable proof enabling even the least imaginative people capable of understand the advantage of using these products.
I’ve got one on my 2014 Colorado. U9 is bad on the tyres (265/50/20s) black marks everywhere. Run it on U3. Very controlled and heaps better than standard. Also got a chip on the fuel rail. They do work. And the dealer can’t delete your $1k time when they service the vehicle 👍
So I wish for an ANSWER, why would EVERY manufacture have this 2 second lag ???? it must be a emission control action. i'm assuming stopping soot and the blocking the DPF??? or is this something similar to the VW cheating the EPA results??? WILL my vehicle pass an EPA test on U9 ????
Emissions, it’s so you can’t close the throttle abruptly and then send unburned fuel down the pipe so it stays open for longer or opens fully after a second

Such a bummer they don't make these units for the 2000 95 series Prados (ECU controlled and fly by wire). Only the 120 series and up. Not sure why?
Saw you driving around the beach today Shauno, hope you have a ripper time while you're up here!
Hi Shon, I have a question:
Do you recommend to tune the vehicle even if the vehicle is 2008 prado? Because i have heard that it can damage the turbo and the gear.
What are your thoughts about this?
Throttle controllers serve a purpose, especially when you set to Eco when you need good control to stop the jerkyness, but the flogs who keep saying it increases power need to be slapped
Reduces or eliminates lag, not increases power
Let’s see if I win one!
Got one in my 79 and hilux. Definitely makes a difference.
Awesome product this idrive throttle controller. I have it installed on my LDV T60 and it really does make a world of difference. Cheers from Costa Rica legends!
Can you test UHF antennas pls. The newer thick models compared with some of the smaller older styles. Suggest you test for hill and distance dbi. Thanks.
I Recently got a 4 wheel drive and doing it up and I got on of these and it’s amazing I love it
I would like too see you guys test an American Super Duty Pick up like a F-250 or 350 not sure you can get those Down under but it would be cool.
That’s not aloud
We don’t waste our time with shit like that
These are only available in Aus through resellers after being RHD converted (not through Ford dealers or Ford Australia).
2020 F250 6.7L V8 diesel with 475HP and 1400Nm stock with warranty....Yep it's loud and I definitely have time to waste on that.
@@alastairc.5219 I own 2020 F-450 in the states.. and it's a pulling beast on the Ranch.
@@beaurowland9805 savage 🤣 but true
Test out the Sherpa winches! Made right there in Australia.
Quick question mate...when you talk about a vehicle tune, do you mean one done with the installation of an aftermarket EMU?
I’ve got an ‘un-common’ rail Hilux, 2003 model SR5, and it’s gutless. Will this controller work with my car? Thanks.
Great video, does it make as much of a difference to a petrol vehicle or mainly for the diesel lag?
Yes it does
I see the name has changed, and there are so many similarly named and looking units out there. Is this the same as the Idrive windbooster? That one has a similar look, but above the 'ultimate performance' label, there is an 'idrive' label, but the description of the product on ebay says windbooster.
What about testing and explaining different types of uhf aerials?
I would like for you guys to test pros and cons of rear facing snorkel vs a front facing snorkel
Good idea mate!
Shawn whale also went past our Alderley creek winery the a few day ago. His a legend and my idle. This would be my dream job👌
I'd like to see the difference with a stock 70 series without the tune
I have a Hilux and it made a heap of difference, but I have a HIKEIT X9. Can you do a test on it just to see if there's a difference.
Good video, explained simply and showing measurable proof enabling even the least imaginative people capable of understand the advantage of using these products.
Loving your work guys! Would love to see a proper real world test on recovery boards... Budget aldi to top range maxtrax...
Ronny Dahl has done that.
Test the lokka auto locker, how do they handle on road, are they a pain?
Well done Sean, need one for my brothers 3ltr Nissan patrol
Can you test some kinetic rope? I'd like to see how they stack up but they are too pricey for each of us to test.
I’ve got one on my 2014 Colorado. U9 is bad on the tyres (265/50/20s) black marks everywhere. Run it on U3. Very controlled and heaps better than standard. Also got a chip on the fuel rail. They do work. And the dealer can’t delete your $1k time when they service the vehicle 👍
have you taken the vehicle over the dyno to test if the EVC gives more torque? Or does it just distribute torque more efficiently?
it doesnt improve power or torque, just throttle response
I heard throttle controllers tend to fail after about under a year and it can mess with the ECU?
Howdy 4x4 gang. Will this unit fit my 2003 NP Pajero?
I think my model has a accelerator cable with no sensor ?
Thank you 👍
You mean to tell me Ultimate diesel tuning didn't open up your throttle when they tuned the 79???
So I wish for an ANSWER, why would EVERY manufacture have this 2 second lag ???? it must be a emission control action. i'm assuming stopping soot and the blocking the DPF???
or is this something similar to the VW cheating the EPA results???
WILL my vehicle pass an EPA test on U9 ????
Emissions, it’s so you can’t close the throttle abruptly and then send unburned fuel down the pipe so it stays open for longer or opens fully after a second
It's could be use U9 on daily use?
Hi, very informative, advanced, and complete information regarding the throttle controller, thank you, but I have a question I hope the admin or 4WD 24-7
can answer regarding safety issue, My question is what if the throttle controller's device suddenly fails? or the little wire cut? Do we still have the control of gas pedal? or it will be back to normal mode? Thank you for hoping 4WD 24-7 can enlighten us. thank you again!
Unplug the TC from the pedal and change it back to factory
Great test. Would love to see a egr reduction plate test before and after(not delete). What it does to turbo boost and low end power and the effects it mite have on the economy. Cheers
Can you change throttle controller settings while driving?
Can you guys now test the Sprint Booster to compare with the ECV?
Helps having notifications on love you guys
Is that bribie island where he did the soft sand test ?
