Exactly what I said in my video. These people will do anything to get attention. Latest post from Canon Rumors: Update: After speaking with two reputable third-party battery makers, this issue was not created purposefully by Canon, it was just a byproduct of the power delivery changes in the LP-E6P required for the new features and processors in the EOS R5 Mark II.
Good stuff Amar. I tend to agree with you regarding more mpx and stacked sensors. As you know, I shoot an R7. For a version 2, my wish list would be 1) current generation best in class AF. The R7's AF can get tied up in knots with vertical lines and busy backgrounds. 2) a slightly faster readout sensor but doesn't have to be stacked. 3) either no need for mechanical shutter or a quieter mechanical shutter. That's really it. As for Rolling Shutter on the R7, I would be dishonest to say it doesn't exist but it also is not as bad as some of the "pundits" would have you believe. I was shooting snowberry clearwing moths today as they were flying among swamp milkweed blossoms. Out of 30 shots that I loaded on my computer, 1 had significant rolling shutter artifacts. The rest either had no artifacts or so minor as to just look like blur in the wings movement. My experience talking with other photographers and reading reviews is a lot of folks just don't want to invest the time to learn the camera's quirks and how to work with and around them. I would argue if a photographer isn't getting good photos with an R5, they will not be getting good photos with an R5ii. I don't care how many shots it takes to fill the buffer shooting images of a brick wall or how great the corner sharpness is on that same brick wall. I care about how many usable images I can get of a clearwing moth or a skink on a rock etc. If I won $500 million in a lottery, I may be a gear hound. As it is, I'm just a retired former working stiff who buys what he can and learns how to use it.
I agree completely about 3rd party batteries. Why would someone spend thousands of dollars on a camera then go cheap on a battery that will probably void your warranty. You are the first TH-camr I have heard say it is okay for manufacturers to defend their patents by limiting lenses. Whenever I say this the trolls come out and tell me how stupid I am.
24mp from the r6 II is all I need. That being said….i did order the r5 II but mainly for the reason I was in the market for a cinema camera and instead of the R5c this made more sense. I think the icing on the cake is clog2 and Retina eye tracking. Who knows?….maybe the 45mp will change my mind on shooting high res after I compare it to the r6 II 24mp.
I can get by with what ever megapixel body you put in my hand...but normally I use a pair of A7c(1) bodies along with an even older original A7s body (12 mpx)...go figure...Cheers
The third party complaint was that Canon have blocked the ability to use third party batteries as in camera will not even switch on, do l care no l only user manufacturer batteries.

I hope Canon has enough supply of the new batteries. I forgot to preorder extra set of batteries on launch day

Keep one thing in mind they want the Rolls Royce for the the price of a Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. 😂

Don't use cheap batteries

24 mp is fine for me. I’ve made 24x36 prints with less. Even before upscaling became a thing.

Honest answer is 36mp. That is the amount Im used to.
Awesome 36 is a solid number
@@camerasutra247 i might crop it down to 28mp at most.
