I dont think the product placement throughout the game was really for advertisement, I think it was because their gear from the real world was used as items in the game for the characters to use. And since Activision had the rights to use logos and all that, why not plaster it all over skateparks, make it look like a sponsored event.
As for the shops and brand logos plastered all over, I mostly understand it, especially on the competition parks that really would have advertisement. It’s not a thing to me at all, IMO it helps the world feel more complete with shops i really use
When u look at modern skateparks like the berrics they are all over the place and them being included in the game makes it look more legit in my opinion. I mean of course its still advertisments but as a skater myself i can say that we mostly have our favorite brands and for example everybody usually has his favourite shoe that he swears by so those ads are more of a visual appeal. But on the other hand people who dont skate might still be heavily influenced by those ads.
Just a little correction. Guitar Hero was created by Harmonix, Neversoft only started developing them once Harmonix moved on to create Rock Band. So Neversoft developed Guitar Hero III onwards👍🤘
You got something wrong. Jeff Grosso was never featured in a Tony Hawk game. He was a beloved skater, who was sponsored by Vans. That's why he's in the Vans AD's in the game
Probably had to do with his image. They (the pros) probably didn’t want that to “represent” them as a whole. Drugs/drinking/Wreckless crazy ass life. Lol The hats just my opinion
@@stevenl3265 I actually looked into it, I didn't get an answer about this, but he wasn't in the jackass game because the Tony hawk games owned the rights to his image.

HAH, i found an easter egg which in skate heaven, on the lava lakes sometimes there's a guy sitting on a circle boat and just chilling right there until he falls into the void.
Also there is a secret van on the tutorial map that if you grind a certain rail it opens a gate to a jump over a van, when you jump over the van it says Daaaaaaaaay tripper
Hey why is there a challenge only for the ripper you have to complete all characters including secret characters on solo tours its stupid cause you have to have the deluxe edition
It's hilarious the guy thought the mask was a reference to COVID-19, even though those masks were used before COVID-19 for things like surgery and such.
I always loved tony hawk underground, I hope they remake
YES. I'd literally pay all the money in the world for more old school remakes like American Wasteland and Underground.

"We will be working towards a new normal in the fall"
*well, about that...*
The oh you found me was the first graffiti mark Tony Hawk ever left
Also if you invert the time shown on the Dead Pine Mall banner (11:34) it spells HELL
Oh wow, that’s super cool!
I miss neversofts edgyness
Same
I found one of those "Oh You Found Me" guys in Skate Heaven on the back of a bench. Found it while looking for the plush.
Thanks for this one. Still missing Marseille, Venice Beach and NY City. So far I've located all the rest.

Aren't there rumours of more on the way? 👀
Never knew Ben sharpiro played Tony hawk. The more you know
So tony hawk created the virus? The birdhouse flu?😂
He said, "NighK" 🤣🤣🤣

Grosso forever he my favorite skater why did he have to sie
Jack Black thinks hes a huge part of the thps game scene when hes just a fuckin looney toon cringe character
I haven't played this game in so long I can't remember why Jack Black is relevant 😂
how does the mask look cool?
Hey, I mean. Some people can make masks look like part of an outfit. AND pull it off. Plus, it's cool to be considerate of others, so.
@@MatchstickMan it looks real cool to follow the rules that’s why i always look both ways before i cross the street and i never step on cracks either

*propaganda has infected games

Perhaps you didn't hear him say the words, "surgical mask."......
I think it's really weird to have a permanent in-game reminder of that time. Especially given what we know now
The subliminal covid messaging, jesus! Leave that shit out of games!
I feel the same way, when I was creating my character and saw the mask I just sighed and shook my head.
They can throw in all the propaganda they want as long as they continue to remake all the Tony Hawk games.
