Hey Oddheader, just found out in a playthrough of THUG 2, the reason there is that particular pile of bull dung out of bounds is not to be spawned in. If you look at the secret goal screen for the Spaniard in the story mode, the challenge, "Smells Like Bull Dung" has the background of that particular pile as it looks (like it's in front of an out of focus marketfront.) which is nowhere on the map, except for that out of bounds area. So, it's there for the camera to make that background image.
No idea if anyone already said this or not, but for #46 (12:35) doing a bit of research I found out that a guy named Kurt Gutierrez was a Production Tester for the game. I found his Linkedin account: it says he both play tested and created maps for the Tony Hawk games as well as gave criticism and feedback for the other developers. 3:07 .. Walls can be flagged as "rideable" which will glue the player down to the surface. It's used all the time to make quarter pipes work and on the rideable ball in the THPS2's secret level. That one polygon was simply selected by accident when the "rideable" flag was applied. I guess this happened by using a selection brush in a 3D viewport and that poly was mostly obstructed so the selection didn't get noticed. If rideabel polygons are grouped together in the level data you might even be able to find the approximate camera position of when the error was made.

You know, back in the day when THUG was new, there were servers you could go to where people were just showing each other various glitches you could do. There was even a rumor in those servers that the reason there were so many glitches was because Neversoft actually commissioned a separate development house to come in and insert them all over the game. Looking back on it as an adult, I think it was just the high amount of physics in the game combined with something of a lack in quality control that created all the glitches. lol

Aw, thanks dude, I really appreciate the kind words, thank you! I'd love to have a chat if you ever have time :D It's a shame how the series nosedived, I've got a theory that the cancelled Tony Hawk's HD 2 is actually THPS5, they just renamed it to milk the franchise before the license ran out. It would explain how incredibly limited the game is.
Is Tony Hawk HD 2 a confirmed thing? That would make too much sense because thats exactly what it felt like. And I would absolutely love to have to a chat! :D
Thanks for asking the same question I had Larry, and filling us in a little on THPS HD 2's possible connection to THPS 5. Seems fitting that two good content creators would want to get to know each other. Best of luck to you both, and great job oddheader.
Loving your content. This video especially takes me back, and I learned a lot of cool/strange things about the series. I have a few interesting bits to share that I didn't see mentioned: - In Barcelona (THUG2), there's a pool at the top of La Perdrera Spiral Rail building you can use to air up high and into a lip trick on the tram wire. If you hold the trick as a tram is passing by, it will begin pushing you along the rail, and once you reach the bend at the large billboard, some very strange things can happen. Oftentimes your skater is teleported to a completely random spot within the level, still holding the lip trick. - Also in Barcelona is the fountain in front of the hospital with the guy's head squirting water out. You can knock the head off the fountain and natas spin on it, but what's even more fun is hitting it at a high speed to get it rolling, jumping right as you hit it, and then natas spinning. The head will roll along and your skater will rotate along with it at funny angles. - In Canada (THPS3), there's a guy on the edge of the quarter pipe near the adjustable ramp you can knock off and into the water with a lip trick. In THUG2 he is replaced with the Australian ramp kid, but if you knock him off a very strange voice clip that is heavily edited (and not Australian-kid-like at all) will play, screaming "Oh no, I don't want to die!" - In Los Angeles (THUG2) before causing the earthquake, if you get on top of the overpass that crosses over the entire level you can find that all of the vehicles crossing it are from THUG. If you skitch one out of bounds past the car wash, you can easily get into a large out-of-bounds area of flatland, including some invisible walls with strange, bouncy physics.
You missed the Star Wars Kid in Tony Hawk Underground 2 in the Bosten Level at 15:06 just take the right Ramp and its kinda the same process like the goat one
Regarding Burnside, some may not know that it's actually a legendary skatepark that exists in Portland. I think Grind Session was in development at the same time as THPS 1, and seeing how it's a popular skate spot it's probably just a coincidence it landed in both games.
i dont think its crazy. it was extremely popular at the time because toy machine and many others travelled specifically to shoot videos there. its existence was also unique because its not a city-built park or typical so-cal high school location. as such, it was probably the nearly the most famous skatepark at the time.
Right, I gotcha. What I meant was when I said "how did that happen" in the video, I was more trying to say that rhetorically, like "woah, thats weird". You are correct, the actual reasons why for the coincidence is maybe not that crazy, but most players wouldn't have noticed that and I still think its interesting trivia.
On THPG: along time ago by accident I discovered something weird , I was building my own skate park or something like that and I was going to the inventory of stuff and one of the parts that they gave you was like this plaque , this concrete slab that had a plaque on top of it that was for the entrance of the building and it was basically telling you what was on each floor of the building, bit when you zoom in , it said something like New World order illuminati with question marks or something like that it was very strange.
8:00 mirroring the world underneath is a fairly common way to create shiny surfaces since it doesnt have to be as high res as the main objects and doesnt require the rendering work of the character moving and changing the reflection as they moved
I miss tony hawk 1 through 3. They had the best soundtrack and extra characters. Think two had "world's collide" by Powerman 5000 with the security guard skater....miss my childhood
Here's one! If you go to LA in THPS3 with the music off, you can hear 2 people arguing by the "Free Ballin'" objective. In fact there's loads of unique hidden dialogue in that game, I love it. In Suburbia, there's a guy with a very distinct voice, almost as if his dialog was recorded on a low-end mic.
What about in the Warehouse level, if you go to the far corner wall a guy outside can be heard weirdly yelling "Suck Butt" or "What Butt" it's a little distorted but that's what I've gathered
when we were little, my little brother and I leaned that the "Tyr" thing crashed the game first hand, his middle name is "TYR" and he would put it as his hi-score name since mine is "LEO", I used to give him such a hard time about it not letting him put his name, he always need up putting "TYY"

9:44 He sounded like some guy from The Simpsons.
The “UFO” in the unlockable video was just a theme park ride if anyone was curious
i remember breaking the glass in the green house late at night in my room when everyone was asleep and when I heard the guys voice over the intercom I sprinted out of my room in fear lmao scared the hell outta me... but had a cool story to tell in the morning, I didn't know how I triggered it but I do know!
How do you know when you have played a game series to much . . . when you can tell people 100 things they didn't know about themXD
Great video dude! Was there any easter eggs in Tony Hawk's HD at all?
Dude thank you! I've been watching your videos for a while!
Tony Hawk HD didn't even have the box easter egg I mentioned at the start of the video that all the other versions have, so unfortunately I believe not.
Aw, thanks dude, I really appreciate the kind words, thank you! I'd love to have a chat if you ever have time :D
It's a shame how the series nosedived, I've got a theory that the cancelled Tony Hawk's HD 2 is actually THPS5, they just renamed it to milk the franchise before the license ran out.
6:15 you mean joey kuras
Loving your content. This video especially takes me back, and I learned a lot of cool/strange things about the series.
I have a few interesting bits to share that I didn't see mentioned:
- In Barcelona (THUG2), there's a pool at the top of La Perdrera Spiral Rail building you can use to air up high and into a lip trick on the tram wire.
In THUG2 he is replaced with the Australian ramp kid, but if you knock him off a very strange voice clip that is heavily edited (and not Australian-kid-like at all) will play, screaming "Oh no, I don't want to die!"
- In Los Angeles (THUG2) before causing the earthquake, if you get on top of the overpass that crosses over the entire level you can find that all of the vehicles crossing it are from THUG.
Yeah I figured most everyone knew that one, I only included the goat one there because I wanted to show all the goats.
I miss this part of my life

Regarding Burnside, some may not know that it's actually a legendary skatepark that exists in Portland. I think Grind Session was in development at the same time as THPS 1, and seeing how it's a popular skate spot it's probably just a coincidence it landed in both games.
Yeah I was just saying what a crazy coincidence.
i dont think its crazy. it was extremely popular at the time because toy machine and many others travelled specifically to shoot videos there. its existence was also unique because its not a city-built park or typical so-cal high school location. as such, it was probably the nearly the most famous skatepark at the time.
4:16 jumpscared me so hard...
holy fuck man its too late for that kind of shit
it's a loud glass break sound

Im legit excited to watch this video
theres a glitch i found in pf8 was when or if you do a front flip towards a ramp youll get launched in the air and its so fun to do
so glad i subbed, i didn't know most of this stuff, great vid ♥
For the last Fact alone this vid is worth a thumbs up.
That one didn't require a lot of research, but it's definitely one of the truest facts.
19:42 I probably would've shit myself if I was playing THUG2 late at night and randomly came across that.
Omg its the Nathan ns
TheNathanNS Why’d you marry that rich phony?!
That reflection teqnique was extremely popular on ps2, it was also done in timesplitters 2 and swbf 2 as well.
24:17 yup. Best thing about the whole game was Tyler the creator as a playable character AND NOTHING ELSE
Im so glad i found your channel. Youre making really good stuff man. I can see youre putting a lot of effort into what you do! Keep it up!
I have probably played thousands and thousands of hours of Tony Hawk games and didn’t know a lot of these. Awesome video!
Dude. I just have to let you know, this video is so well done that I keep rewatching it every time it comes up in my 'related videos' feed.
Ha 7:09 that's funny because skater island had to shut down after their roof collapsed. I drive past the old building all the time!
Didn't know that know! That's hilarious. I wonder if its just coincidence or if Neversoft somewhat expected it. xD
+oddheader Crazy how time flies but yeah, thps3 was 2001 and the park closed in 2003. Gotta wonder!
Wow. Hello Captain America. 😂😂
D.J. Davis omg😂😂🙈
oddheader, new host of boundary break
8:00 mirroring the world underneath is a fairly common way to create shiny surfaces since it doesnt have to be as high res as the main objects and doesnt require the rendering work of the character moving and changing the reflection as they moved
Ahahahaha, loved the "did you noticed this game sucked?". :D
Your videos keep getting better and better! I'm glad Your videos popped up in my recommended
14:16 i would expect that from GTA V
s'goin on, you or anybody else ever find out if theres a story for that UFO in the background @ 5:23 ??
its one of those flexible camera rigs they use for sports that make it seem like the camera's gliding
Does anyone know the original clip??
@@TheIndiana212 Drone shots before drones.
tony hawk actually responded, apparently it was a ride at a nearby theme park or something i believe
It’s a parachute space-themed ride that was at Expo 86.
ERM.. AHH... DONT JUMP IN THE WATER, ITS AHH... WET...
Like no shit!
I miss tony hawk 1 through 3. They had the best soundtrack and extra characters. Think two had "world's collide" by Powerman 5000 with the security guard skater....miss my childhood
Hello Childhood. I see you've come to remind me of your presence again.
@@blenderbool5690 and a moderately good childhood it was
I still listen to the THPS2 soundtrack playlist every once in a while!

Oh yeah I know the poor quality mic guy. Says something like "HOLY!" Always funny!
Or the one that says “WATCH OUT”
What about in the Warehouse level, if you go to the far corner wall a guy outside can be heard weirdly yelling "Suck Butt" or "What Butt" it's a little distorted but that's what I've gathered
I actually did break all the glass when I was a kid because I was stuck 😂
hahaha that must have been so weird getting that message after.
My dad walked in at 5:31 and saw the roof and said: "Wow video games are so advanced these days"
Ben L. isn't that like a ps2 game
Show him a sex scene in The Witcher 3.
Lol
#4's text, translated into ROT22, says "ntfl u dix" (NTFL means "no time for love")
and the name is "pun"
so it's an easter egg for... super nerds?
...why is it there tho? :v
youtube kept recommending me this damn i miss the 2000s
Makes sense that hell would be in suburbia.
wy say that?
When it's your turn to do a presentation
*Neversoft*
Holy shit 😂
Nice
when we were little, my little brother and I leaned that the "Tyr" thing crashed the game first hand, his middle name is "TYR" and he would put it as his hi-score name since mine is "LEO", I used to give him such a hard time about it not letting him put his name, he always need up putting "TYY"
