Fun sitting here by the fire at home watching you guys. I have worn out, not "damaged" out 3 sets of Silvey jacks and never once purposely put in an undercut before a jack seat. Many times the back lean was so bad that it would have been impossible to do the seat last. But everything worked out just fine for you. Nothing more than an observation from an old faller. That's all.
These were not bad learners at all just trying not to beat our guts out if we don’t have too Most of those prolly didn’t need a jack at all but you know how it go’s as soon as you think “oh this one ain’t leaning too bad” and you don’t put the jack in that’s the one that ends up tricking ya 😆 You are right on the hard leaners we do put the seat in first too 👍thanks for watching enjoy that fire 👌
Great job and Unbelievable talent. Falling can be dangerous. But you guys do it right and safe., I like to look at the 066 better than a 661, 066, looks more like my Stihl, MS 460, all great saws, thanks for the video,
I recall stories my father-in-law would tell about the first chain saw that came into the woods, with a stinger. He and his friend cut down one of the largest fir trees in oregon over by kings valley. Hard work and great men helped build Oregon. Enjoyed your video and watch the saw work that Garrett is doing. Thank you.
It’s weird watching people I know on tv even if it is just TH-cam. I cut with Garrett in 2020 only for a month as I was just up to visit but he’s a top hand that’s for sure. One of the best
I picked up the 28t jack after watching your previous video on how to jack a tree over. I love it, i use it for my own property, big east coast hardwoods, even at 28t, ive never had a tree it couldnt push ober
Love the videos, dam i wish i was in timber like that we dont get anything like that in the uk 😢 i would love to spend a few days with you lads just to see how you do it and Experience it some big timber fall
West, and Guilty, vetran, tall, are my favorite channels to watch!! Gordie, id love a custom built saw by you! Sorry if a spelt your name wrong. Cheers all of you! Much love from the Croziers From Maine.
Gordy, I believe that you should look into making your own lightweight chainsaw bars, at least a prototype. Then do your cost analysis a figure out where you could realistically streamline it to be affordable for you and your customers both. It might be more hassle than it’s worth, but think about it regardless.
It would be cool, but even Husky has Sugi Hari make theirs for them, so I’m guessing it’s prohibitively expensive to get into. But worth a shot. I just bought a 500i kit and some other goodies from Geordie. Thanks.
Walkers pretty well nailed there's. Cheaper than everybody, more rigid than stihl, lighter than sugi. Stock tips aren't great but they take oregon tips so that's another win
Where's Mike 😆 Nice video Gordy ! Wondering did the first rotten one break when it went down and is there any profit in them or is it just part of the job. thanks
Gordy, what pants/chaps are you guys wearing usually? I think you've talked about it in a gear video but I can't recollect. Curious about what kind Garrett has on too.
Is thst saw rapping out to high? I seriously dont know.. just sounds scary.. i run a 660 and it i was that high of rpms i would be letting off or get more load on it to slow it down a little.. i understand its ported snd whatnot but still.. ? Love these videos.. wish you had more of them. Seen them all.. 😊
Could you count some rings from time to time to give us an idea when we’re looking at second growth vs third? I’m guessing that tree was 110 years old?
Hi Gordy! I enjoy your videos a tonne load, great sawyer Garrett is. Wierd question I got all the way from Nairobi, Kenya. What ever happened to Jack of Hotsaws101 (a channel much like yours)?, I have learned plenty from both channels. Would be sweet to watch Garret & Anton cutting, both pros with saws.
I’m surprised you all weren’t using the technique I saw you using earlier this year: cutting some of the bark off the top before you cut the log off to keep it from splintering. I think you were cutting a bunch of red wood trees with someone. Just wondering?
I’d like to see WCS design a Husqvarna muffler back half that would accept a Bark Box front piece similar to the Stihl system? Dumb idea?🤷♂️. How about some type of a shrink wrap faller axe over swing protection for their sweet handles?
When you were talking about wanting to jack that tree over and against its lean but not having enough lift, I got an idea: Jack up far enough to double or triple stack some wedges in the back cut. (whichever you feel comfortable with) Then bleed out the jack, letting the tree sit on the wedges. Cut a NEW jack seat taking advantage of the extra ~2-3 inches of lift already established, then continue jacking. Seems like a way to lift a tree 6 inches with a 4-inch-lift jack. *Disclaimer-I have never jacked a single tree in my life
Y’all look like just a playing around day dropping huge sticks.
What a great job.
When it looks easy that just tells ya they know what their doing from my experience anyway

O
Ole Garrett has a ton of finesse with a saw. Some guys ram and jam and are like bulls in china shop, but he's smooth. Very nice work fellas.
Garrett’s a wealth of knowledge and a lot of fun to cut with 👍
Hey nice bushwhacking Gordy!!! Love to see the 066 in action. Love it thanks Gordy for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Just got my surprise gift , west coast saw hoodie jumper off my fiancee , all the way to the UK , i love it / quality item 👍

That saw is a beast! Nicely done. Serious skills there.

Great video guys! Can’t wait for the next one!
there is such a skill to be able to SAFELY take down such large trees! great job!
It's really not that hard
It’s weird watching people I know on tv even if it is just TH-cam. I cut with Garrett in 2020 only for a month as I was just up to visit but he’s a top hand that’s for sure. One of the best
I bet Garrett kicks the snot out of your prototypes. Good job!! Love the video!
y'all are awesome! If I wasn't so old, I'd come out there and work with ya for free!
Never to old 💪
I love your little Inserts of funny videos! I Love this Channel
Glad you like them!😁👍
@westcoastsaw1368 Also I Ordered your Raker Gage and absolutely love it!
I'm new love it. Been flopping trees for years. Not to that extent. You guys are awsome.
I love watching you guys, you’re 1000 times better than that history channel stuff
Great video, Gordy💪
Appreciate it!
"A prize over a surprise anyday" 😂 Truth buddy.
Was that a Hulk Hogan Cameo, or did someone spike my coffee? LMAO Great footage guys!
Great stuff love these videos

It seems like a crowded market already with some established players
Walkers pretty well nailed there's. Cheaper than everybody, more rigid than stihl, lighter than sugi. Stock tips aren't great but they take oregon tips so that's another win
I agreee. Some WestCoast light bar's
Nice work bushwackers, safe cuttin
Garrett is a badass
Awesome Gordy! I was just wondering last night when you were putting up a new vid. Thanks! Look forward to them.
Glad you like them!🤝
Great video!
Thanks for sharing!
You guys are some good fellers id love to donate some of my time and bring my own gear to come fall and buck with yall
Pimping aint easy. But Garrett makes it look that way. *movie magic
Tough to beat a 066. Great sawmanship guys
Gordys saw sounds so mean. Love it.
I see a resemblance to the character Animal Mother from FMJ in Gordy
Love the Videos
Much success !
Beast!!!
Love watching you guys run saws. Hate you dont have a bark box for the 7310pw echo.
Nice job guys, sounds like those 066 Stihl's have been ported, they sound like they're running grunty as.
Rocknroll guys!
Stunning video like always Gordy wanna ask if someone know what oil ratio they use with Saber?
Best regards, Giovanni
I have been running it at 50:1 Garrett is running 60:1 with no issues 👌
@@westcoastsaw1368 thanks a lot for the answer, really appreciate that 💪
Great stuff
Garrett is the salt bae of timber Cuttin. Just needs to sprinkle a little sawdust on the stump when he’s done
That is one big ass tree....holy cow
amazing!!!
Garrett is like a surgeon!
Ol Luke and butch…bushwackers…good job men
I'm surprised there aren't more laws against such things; like having too much fun!
Good stuff Bushwackers!
Does that moss and loam ever dull the chain
Love it
What happened to the saw chain.. why did you replace it..?
Nice video 😃
love that 661
What kind of equipment are they using to pull those logs out of the woods there?
That saw sounds awesome and is rippin!
They will drag them out with the shovel
Thanks for the reply!
That'd be cool to see on that hillside.
Thank you.
What length are you cutting the logs into? What determines that length if I may ask?
Hey Gordy, can you make a video on all the kit Garreth (sorry if I mis spelled his name) takes with him? It looks like a lot!
He packs same as me
Gas, backpack saw and we shared the jack on this one
@@westcoastsaw1368thank you for your comment buddy. Now I can binge watch your gear video and make my setup better. Appreciate it! 😃
Don’t leave Garrett unattended for too long or the whole forest will be gone.
Great channel!! What kind of boots do you and Garret wear? Thanks
Hebat boss. Perhitungan matang .
Where's Mike 😆 Nice video Gordy ! Wondering did the first rotten one break when it went down and is there any profit in them or is it just part of the job. thanks
It saved out for some reason I didn’t film it maybe I was running 🤣
Amazing
come fallin in Australia bro
Is that 661 an M-tronic? Ported? What a screamer!
Yes m-tronic I ported it
How is the old d7 dozer doing that you found a few years ago
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
Benar benar profesional, 👍 good job 👍
Get it before Jan 1st!
That 660 is a screamer ..wish my old girl sounded and cut like that. Well it does make some noise with the barker box.
I see you guys using those blue wedges more often than the k&h redheads. Would you say they’re a bit more durable than the k&h ?
amazing
Gordy, what pants/chaps are you guys wearing usually? I think you've talked about it in a gear video but I can't recollect. Curious about what kind Garrett has on too.
Great video! Im in western Oregon where abouts were you guys cutting?
Scappoose area

Oh yea that’s the rev limiter for sher Garrett only knows one speed 🤷♂️🤣
Could you count some rings from time to time to give us an idea when we’re looking at second growth vs third? I’m guessing that tree was 110 years old?
You could always stop the video and count.
@@iffykidmn8170but where’s the fun in that
@@iffykidmn8170 Why do the work yourself when you can ask someone else for the answer?
Second growth. The average age is around 90 years old.
Serious question, hope I don't sound like too much a rookie but wondering why you use the rapid sawing motion when they're on the ground?
I’d like to see some video of them dragging those giants out of there! Do you have any or can you recommend some?
Hi Gordy! I enjoy your videos a tonne load, great sawyer Garrett is. Wierd question I got all the way from Nairobi, Kenya. What ever happened to Jack of Hotsaws101 (a channel much like yours)?, I have learned plenty from both channels.

Dude. I totally missed getting my name on my jack.
Its a must but you could still
Do it for sher
Why was that chain in the cut?
He had got stuck in the buck and took his bar off and the chain was left stuck so he cut it out if that make sense
I’m surprised you all weren’t using the technique I saw you using earlier this year: cutting some of the bark off the top before you cut the log off to keep it from splintering.
I think you were cutting a bunch of red wood trees with someone.
Just wondering?
Just got a 53ton on the way to New Zealand ... eye watering cost with postage and tax ...but worth it for those leaners
ever gonna sell those slings for the dolmars? would love to have one.
661 eats!!!
Keren lanjut kan boss ku
What gets these monsters out of those woods?
Cats?
Big skidder?
César 🌬️❄️🥶🌨️
Holy moly "normal" people from Oregon ... This is fantastic
Hey Gordy. I've got a 5lb wedge banger n need a scabbard. What size do you recommend? ❤ from PNW oregon
Were you running jeds 044?
Are you still building saws for people
What is wrong with the throttle at 1:15? full, stop, full, stop, full, stop... at 4:25 again, at 6:12 again.
Whats the reference number on the 661 handle
I’d like to see WCS design a Husqvarna muffler back half that would accept a Bark Box front piece similar to the Stihl system? Dumb idea?🤷♂️. How about some type of a shrink wrap faller axe over swing protection for their sweet handles?

The holding wood on that old cedar wouldn’t hold but I like how you think 😁👍
~120-->150 years for Doug in poor draining areas and kaput. Hemlocks up here hit 120, and they are usually on the ground in several pieces...
