    This video is truly stunning! The skills of oversized timber truck drivers are astonishing. They face many risks and dangers on the road, but still complete the job excellently. It was great to see footage from the woodworking factory and the famous cable drum manufacturing process. This video is not only engaging but also provides a lot of useful knowledge about the wood industry. Well worth seeing!

      The machinery in this video is impressive. It’s amazing how they turn those huge logs into cable drums. Thanks for sharing this fascinating process!

      @MachinesBestHT 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have you ever imagined a logging operation where every machine, from feller bunchers to skidders, is synchronized through advanced AI systems? What might this look like in the near future of “smart forestry”?

    • @ExtremeMachinesZone
      @ExtremeMachinesZone 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MachinesBestHT That’s a fascinating thought! The idea of synchronizing all logging machinery with AI systems could completely revolutionize the industry. Imagine how much more efficient and precise operations could become, reducing waste and perhaps even minimizing the environmental footprint. However, I do wonder about the potential trade-offs. Would this level of automation lead to job losses for experienced operators, or would it create new roles focused on managing and maintaining these AI systems? It’s exciting but also raises important questions about the future workforce and the balance between technology and human expertise. What do you think about the possible impacts on both efficiency and employment?

    • @Samdiscoverystudio
      @Samdiscoverystudio 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ExtremeMachinesZone It looks nice, but is the process bad for the environment? Is logging a sustainable idea?

    • @ExtremeMachinesZone
      @ExtremeMachinesZone 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Samdiscoverystudio That's a great question. While the use of AI and automation in logging could potentially increase efficiency and reduce waste, it's important to consider the broader environmental impact. Logging is inherently a destructive process, and even with advanced technology, it's difficult to eliminate the damage to forests and ecosystems. We need to ensure that any gains in efficiency are balanced with responsible forest management practices and stringent environmental regulations. It’s a complex issue, and it's vital that we find a way to integrate these technologies without causing further harm to our planet.

      That's only in forest that are not well managed. In Europe all timber has to have a chain of custody and can't come from illegal deforestation. For the tree cut down trees are actually replanted to grow a fresh crop of tree that will be cut down 30 or 60 years later depending on what they are. Maybe actually educate yourself on the matter

      It's called reforestation. As soon as an area is harvested, reforestation crews come in and replant seedlings. Many of the areas being harvested today is "second cut' planted in the 50's or 60's. Have you ever seen hemp being used as a substitute for lumber on construction sites? Would you ever buy one of their houses?@@samesryals6952

      Companies harvesting wood aren't interested in harvesting all the wood, as, what will they, and the gov, and the people do, if they take it all?

    Just looking at their yard, they must have well over a million trees ready to go to production to whatever these trees R going to become.
    We need the trees in order to breathe as they give us the air we need. Trees grow better & faster depending on where they R planted
    good soil, rain for food & a good warm climate a tree will grow better & faster, so all in all instead of taking 15-20 yrs, it might take
    10-15 yrs for a good tree to mature, but whatever the yrs we still need the trees to breathe.

    One small, but vitality important omission from the shown processes... drying! I don't even want to think about the ensuing messes created by turning wet lumber out into the wilds of various construction. At the very least, as a furniture builder for the past 40 years, I'd cause grievous bodily harm to anyone who ran a board with more than 12% (you can expect a m.c. of as high as 25-30% straight off of a raw log, no matter how long it sits in the yard) moisture content through any of my machines, let alone all the havoc of things blowing into scrapwood once it does begin to dry.

    Another captain and me were sailing a 41' ketch to Charleston from Miami for its owner. We'd been sailing all night in the moonless dark and the sun was about 30 minutes from rising. The autopilot had the helm as the radar watched for traffic. Just after we'd sit down to our omelot breakfast, unseen by the radar, this HUGE wooden cable spool went by 25 yards to port! If we had collided with it in the dark, the boat would have gone to the sea floor!

      Thankfully you were safe and didn't sink. You know what they say (which is especially true about driving a car) close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. How many times have we all, almost been in a bad car crash, but missed it by the skin of our teeth?

      Where does all this timber come from to have this mill plant? The size of this factory must get timber every day to have a plant

      @@mexicant407Millions of rain forests in Central and South America have been decimated by the U.S. cattle industry so they will have cheaper grazing for their cattle. This loss of rain forests has a direct impact on world wide environmental issues. It also destroys the habitat where indigenous human populations reside, thereby displacing entire tribal family groups. Finally, destroying Central and South American rain forests is destroying the winter habitat for our North American migratory birds that spend the winter there. So, come the following spring, there are always going to be fewer and fewer birds returning to the U.S. Now, that is important because our birds can eat their weight in bugs every day, but with fewer birds, we will have more bugs and more disease-which has a direct impact on humans. More disease = higher death toll. So, if we continue to allow the trees to be destroyed, AND if we also allow our environment to be destroyed, we are signing our own death warrant.
