The thing I like about Etho's base is that while he's building it, it really feels to me that he feels a lot more inspired than normal lately. He himself admits he's not the greatest builder, but the amount of interesting concepts for builds that he's crammed into his base so far is really awesome. For once, I'm actually slightly more excited to check out his multiplayer episodes over his singleplayer (Not a knock against his sp world, it's just he seems like he's having a lot more fun on Hermitcraft recently.
Grian literally make a build diagonal-upside down in the nether while flying around fighting ghast. It's like sculpting sculpture of an upside down man in a strange post from stalactite in a huge mountain cave while *swinging on a rope on top of a burning pit of fire* while fending off a musketeer shooting at your sculpture and you use *only a sword.* That's how much of a flex he did.
To be honest everyone’s base on Hermitcraft 7 is amazing but i think Grian took the cake this season especially with the upside down mansion. Building upside down is a nightmare trust me I have tried and failed miserably.
How to build a castle: Grian: Exterior Etho: Interior Mumbo: Redstone for secret rooms Scar: Mountains Behind To Make Depth Bdubs: Gardens Anyone like it?
I actually had a commentary section recorded about Iskall's Omega Tree (because it was in the Honourable Mentions, but I had to cut it out or this video would have been over 30 minutes lol). But yeah, I essentially said that I think Iskall, Rendog and Cubfan have a chance to make their way on the board when I update this list. As of right now, imo, those three bases still need a lot of work before I'd call them "a finished base"
Hussar & Hyde Gaming I admire that, cutting out your hard work just so your viewers can have a more enjoyable experience, although we wouldn’t mind how long a videoms
I'm kinda let down with his build this season OBVIOUSLY it's insanely impressive but he has a really unique build style and this build is super basic but like STILL INSANE
I think BdoubleO's base will finish this season on top. Of all the bases mentioned in this video, his is by FAR the most incomplete. His castle hasn't yet reached half it's intended size, the giant mountain/cliff is going to be fully built all the way back, there will by a huge road ascending the mountain to the castle from the town he's building below, and perhaps Bdubz's trump card, his outstanding interior design, he hasn't even begun on his castle yet. While the other bases mentioned are resembling finished bases (well, apart from the glorious insanity that is Etho's) I have a feeling that by the time Bubbles has a finished looking base area he will have climbed all the way to the no.1 position.
@@TheLilLukas well if season eight starts when 1.17 comes out like I think it will, then he has until summer 2021 to finish, so he has a long time yet. He does seem to get distracted quite a lot though lol
The fact that Bdubs uses ores into his builds tells you that Bdubs is beyond your average builder. He's just so good with details. (But Grian is still my fave hehe..)
When I recorded this video, there was still a good amount of dead space in Cubfan's base. However, now it is REALLY coming together and am 100% certain that he will climb the ranks when I revisit this list. Again, like I said in the outro, I have no ill intention when I don't mention certain people. My goal is to be analytical, not to just mention every hermit to please the masses 🙂 Thanks for the comment man!
I can explain Ethos base. Like we make our houses, from outside to in side, he makes inside to outside (inverts the conventional) but he don't do the exterior. And with that, he uses diferent types of decorations and styles of building that exist.
my predictions for the end of the season 3 keralis (i imagine his city will be insanely massive) 2 etho (the man knows how to use colours) 1 bdubs (when his village is complete it will look so detailed but i imagine many empty interiors)
I think I prefer BDubs’ castle. When it’s complete, the build will be so much more vibrant and detailed than the mansion. Don’t forget, Bdubs excels at interiors too so the castle will likely get an incredible interior that Grian’s mansion will not have. This season is so much better than last season
I also think it'll likely be overtaking Grian's mansion when finished. I would say especially when that mountain is done on all sides as well. Have you seen his most recent episode? The natural taper on the mountain looks gorgeous so far!
joe soque Well it wasn’t designed around not having an interior...it was designed so that Grian could work on his build skills by building diagonally. He decided not to give it an interior because it would be too difficult, but since saying that he has backtracked a little to at least consider a proper interior
One base that’s awesome is Cub’s giant pyramid, it’s cool how he’s now turned it into a gaming district for the other hermits while still making it look great
Grian's Mansion is actually a great base but in his "mansion castle" it only has the villager trader and his storage room, even though he will expand it in the future, he has many rooms filled with nothingness, its a great exterior build, but inside it all empty. Cub pyramid is a great base too. also, omg I really liked your channel bro, thumbs up to you
This is one of the biggest problems I have with a lot of the hermits' builds. The lack of expansive interiors makes the exteriors feel less like proper buildings and more like arbitrary shapes. still superb as far as exteriors go, obviously
I think my issue with Mumbos base is that his concept changed partway through, and that the outside pillars don’t match with the inside of the ruined tower. If it was all ruined, or if it was more clear that the outside pillars were “containing” the interior, it would be better.
Blastof77245 yea thats the point like d zman said a new generation preserving an ancient ruin its obvious the pillars will have a different feeling from the interior
I gotta say, I prefer Scars terraforming and landscaping style over his Building style.. Bdubs is a great builder, also on interiors But my favourite builder is Grian, because he makes such huge builds. I just love the look of his mansion
I can't say anything about bdubs since I don't watch him, but comparing scar and grian to me is always a matter of "What do you need?" Scar creates Ambiances. Grian creates builds. Take a single building out of the magical village and scale it up to compare it with the mansion. The mansion is probably gonna look better. But the whole theme, all the buildings a d the terraformed area are what make it so beautiful.
I think that Bdubs is the best builder, but since he puts sooo much detail on each build, it takes him a long time to build a big build. But once he finishes his castle, I really do think it would take the num#1 position for best build on the server from Grian's mansion. Of course Grian's mansion will be a close second, but I think bdubs castle has more potential than Grian's mansion, which now can probably only grow in size, not in detail or interior...
honestly theyre all so good, but grians s6 base was just... it took my breath away every single time. he's so good at Grandeur, and his s7 base is also just so Grand, cant wait until its done lol
TBH the Hermits are just so amazing, every single one of the bases on the server could take the #1 spot depending on how you are judging the bases. Grians for his amazing use of gradients, diagonals and interesting block pallet. Iskalls for not only building an amazing and grand base but also building it in a style completely new to him. Same with Mumbo and his newly found love for terraforming. Scars village looks like something out of a fairy tale made by Disney, not a Minecraft build. Whilst I cannot really comment on the other Hermits since I do not watch them as often as these 4, all of their bases look stunning, each in different ways, be it scale, detailing, originality or just simple "wow" factor. I think you did a really good job with this list. Whilst I personally would move Iskalls Omega Tree into the actual top 10, not just an honourable mention, that's mostly because he's one of the Hermits I watch most often, so there's some bias there for me. Overall I think this video is better suited to show people just how good the Hermits are at what they do, but at the same time I understand a top 10 list is a) more interesting for people to watch and b) allows for more discussion in the comments
I'd say Bdubs and Scar are the best builders. When I first saw Scars village I was blown away. I had those magical vibes straight away. It was like entering a fairytale. The amount of love and detail he puts into his builds is insane. The same goes for Bdubs. I loved watching the progress he made on his castle. Seeing it come together so perfectly made my jaw drop. It looks so powerful yet detailed with all these different blocks and shapes. I also love his little village with this kind of industrial style. Grians build on the other hand, I must say, lacks a bit of detail. It's got pretty simple shapes and he loves to build symmetrically which means that he basically just had to build one side of the castle and then copy it on the other side. While other players already built cities he "only" built one mansion and honestly I was a bit disappointed when he just took the exact same mansion and rebuilt it in the nether. Sure it was upside down and red instead of blue but so far Grians builds haven't blown my mind too much. Just my opinion, I respect people putting him into first place
@@johnbondsoni1172 yes you are very correct. Bdubs and scar are the only hermits that have a creativity that top the other hermits. They are the only one who use certain blocks or shapes no-one could be able to create as regular as them. Especially bdubs, hence why his compact builds turn out to be so well made. Also bdubs uses more aspects of the game rather then only blocks. He uses game mechanics like natural lighting and blocks that arent ment for building and plays with framing and valuates every aspect of the game.
I do think cubfan deserves to be on this list. His Pyramid, while being pretty bland, it HUGE. It takes up more then one full map. And the inside, it’s amazing. I’m not much of a cubfan person, but I still admire his base this season, and even last season. He always deliverers when it comes to mega bases.
His base last season was definitely the best Minecraft survival base of any. He finds the most creative ways that use intense red stone but also look really beautiful.
@Project 84 but some real life pyramids were covered in marble and gold before they were sacked. Pyramids are supposed to be very decorated I don't understand how anything but hype could put grian higher than cubfan on this list. Grian is a great entertainer but I think this season (and the last one) cubfan has built something much more impressive
@Project 84 I’ve been building a lot of jungle themed things, so when I think of pyramid, I think of the Aztecs, but the average person would think of the brownish yellow pyramid. Cub’s base this season is just more astonishing then anything else, he really always finds a way to put do himself
@@allic5667 idk man, Bdubs did build an entire mountain just to give his base a back drop. And Keralis still says that his base is no where close to being finished. I personally think Bdubs is probably the best builder of the season though, every build in his base not only is pure perfection, but has character to it, and so much texture, it’s insane.
I love how Etho's is clearly built to be in. It isn't just something to look at, because it is basically without exterior. It is all interior, making it about walking around and being in it.
@@blackmage1276 what does that have to do with anything? Decked out alone is more complicated than anything we saw in season 6. I mean most people would struggle doing that with command blocks, and Tango did it in vanilla
I personally really love Bubbles build style. Its just so beautiful and the way he incorporates “weird” blocks and totally makes it work. He made me realize the potential in each block (esp diorite HAHAHA) I also really like Grians massive builds and Scars (his looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale) but bdubs takes the win for me. Its just the way his builds looks so detailed even from afar and his interior skills are definitely superior. We gotta admit tho, all the hermits have definitely improved massively since the last few seasons
I would keep kinda the same order as you, only I'd bump everyone down and put scars build at first place simply because my eyes and mind fancy the nature/fantasy look. Scars build gave me the biggest wow factor out of all of them
This makes me realise that Grian's mansion isn't done yet, with the back decoration, more terraforming, the other side where he has to mine all of the out in the front right side. It's gonna take a lot of time!
If we are talking about building for me bdubs base is my favorite. When it comes to functionality xisumas base is the best because it has all things that you can need (storage system, every useful farm, concrate maker... )
Xisuma has a very “sexy” brain, the way he thinks and the way he implements nature in his modern builds is beautiful. I really love Ethos base as well, through his builds you get a hint of Mad Hatter, yknow? It makes sense but it also doesn’t. Scars builds are absolutely stunning, he put a lot of effort and time into it despite his health and it’s so amazing to me. Falses base has so much potential, when I look at her base I think of a a fantasy movie that dates hundred if not thousands of years into the future where homes and neighborhoods are on floating islands/ platforms.
In one of Xisuma's videos I believe and one of Ijevin's videos, they said he is just an administrator and everyone o the server work together as owners.
Props to Iskall for the sheer amount of work going into his omega tree. He needs over a million leaves for just the bottom canopy alone, and he plans on doing a middle and top one too.
I love your list and agree in every single aspect except a few. Here's my list of the objectively best builds on the server as of October 10, 2020. 10. Cubfan Super underrated build he's made. Not only is his base massive, but he's managed to capitalize on its interior in a super fun way. He's not the best builder on the server, but he is in no way a poor builder. I just don't agree with some of his decisions in his builds. 9. Mumbo Like Cub, he really surprised me with how well he made his base, like you said. He's managed to mix technical and building really well. It looks incredible and may even be the most memorable thing about this season. 8. Etho The fact that a build purely focused on interior design is even on this list is kinda amazing :O. 7. Impulse This is a big change from your list, but I put Impulse so low only because of where I put my priorities as a builder. Unlike you, I am biased towards technically masterful builds, and to me Impulse's base is something I have seen done before. 6. Xisuma I really have a soft spot for Xisuma. I want to put him even higher than this, but his builds are limited by the same thing Impulse's are. I love seeing his process, and his ability to juggle so many things at once baffles me just like you. 5. False I love false, I lowered her on this list tho just because I personally dislike her roof designs, and I found that much of her base relied on its scale rather than technical skills (she still amazing at building just not as amazing as the next ones). 4. Grian I had to do it to em. Amazing builder and amazing build this season, it's just not as technically skilled as the next ones on the list. Like False's base, it relies on scale, and terraforming is minimal. He just hasn't put as much time into it as others. 3. Keralis Keralis' base this season is simply stunning. His attention to detail, mindfulness to his surroundings, and technical skill in his base is just incredible. He is a master at building, and you can tell by his base this season. 2. Scar Scar's Big Dig on top of the fantastical village shows skill and versatility. What can't this man do? The only thing keeping him from the top spot for me is that I don't really like the style he does his trees, specifically his placement of leaves. To me Iscal has shown a more "realistic" tree design (although its massive). I just feel like there's no shape appeal in Scar's trees, and they can really bump down the builds especially when they're based in a forest. 1. Bdubs I feel like true mastery of building can be seen in Bdub's builds. He has reached the point in building that he has started treating what he makes as an artist would treat a painting. His shape appeal, design, color balance, and simply the ideas behind his builds are some of the most inspiring stuff i've ever seen in Minecraft. His ability to take reality and transfer it into minecraft is mind boggling. Highly, highly recommend that people watch his vids if they haven't already. Honorable Mentions: Iskall85: Impressive scale, just not too original nor has he really worked on it as much. He may have overstepped the boundaries of survival with this one ;) Docm77: If he was on the server more, I would have put him on the list most likely. He is amazing at redstone, like the best on the server in my opinion although Decked Out exists. The little he has done this season compared to other has been truly inspiring. Tango: He challenged his building skills this season by playing around with styles, but they still feel very out of place. If Decked Out was a base I would put him on the list lol. Ren: Moved into the jungle area relatively late, but was the biggest change on Grian's map as time has gone by. Very impressive base, but doesn't hold up too well compared to those on the list. WHEW that was long. Anyways that's my list lol. No one will see this but glad I wrote. Maybe a video on Hermit Shops or Minigames if you haven't already?
@@subhasishghosh6924 I love how he did his base, i think that maybe it was because of the feeling that behind all of that complexity there was an empty inside. It really takes away from the liveliness of the build, not saying it was bad. I just think that the next three were more complexly and thoroughly thought out. Could just be style preference though.
I agree with you on scar being the best (with Bdubs probably second tbh, I would love to see them collab on a massive build where scar kind of designs the space and layout and bdubs does buildings). Scars builds always seem so immersive and designed for being in and not just looking at from a certain angle. I think a lot of that comes from him basing his design philosophy on disney parks. Really gives that feeling that its a space meant to be existed in and walked through, explored and looked around.
In my opinion Grian is on par with Bdubs and Scar for top 1 due to their strong sense of details like Bdubs is strong with block palate and building then Scar is strong with the terraforming process and the detailing thoughts while Grian is strong with his great building style and his sense of expansion.
@@arvidpetersson2252 well the etho is impressive in that building small bases method I am talking about the big bases method which scar, bdubs, and grian is in right now
I disagree scar is better at building and terraforming than grian. Grians base is lifeless, cold, empty and he got pearlescent moon to do his interior. Just because he is popular doesn’t mean he is good.
For me, some points went down for grian cause I really hoped he would put at least 1 chicken head in his base (The charrot doesn’t count cause it was built by mumbo and iskall) Iskall’s base has nothing standing out....I can only see brown and green....that’s it Mumbo stuck to his idea/theme of his base He told ‘I want my base’s nature as....like some people from the future have found and preserved this an ancient build’. But, I think there needs to be more in the ‘futuristic’ side of the base. Those were just my suggestions on the ‘Sahara’ hermits’ bases
I'd personally put rendog and cub on the list, but I agree their bases are still a work in progress and need more work. Also I'd personally say the builder list would go like this: 1. Bdubs 2. Scar 3. Grian All amazing builders though. Great video, can't wait to see the updated one eventually!
@@HussarHydeGaming Honestly, I think your list was pretty accurate. I just like the styles that Vintage Beef comes up with better than some of those on the list. If he spent as much time on the server as some of the others, he would make the list. I feel about the same with Rendog. I really like his ideas but the time involved to complete them is too much for him.
@@kidkalibre1862 Vintage Beef spent literally like a week making Jumbo Mumbo which is absolutely insane. So yeah, his efforts are a little more spread out than most hermits. Not to mention that this is his second base
I cannot believe I watched this whole thing- just for Cub to be completely ignored. The audacity to omit such a fantastic build.... That pyramid tops all of these. 😤
My top 10: 10. Ethos funky base 9. Tangos toon towers 8. Falsesymmetry steampunk base 7. Iskall85 omega tree 6. Scars magical village 5. Keralis city 4. Xizumavoids base 3. Bdubs medieval city 2. Mumbo jumbo spanner base 1. Grians mansion
As much as I adore Grain and I always will and he will always be a tough contender for my favorite hermit. I just cannot get over the emptiness of the base. Like, I don't know why, but having large buildings have a hollow interior just *gets* to me. Even Scar, who I also adore and I love his village, I can't really adore it quite as much because like, the buildings aren't actual buildings. A few of them have things inside but not a whole lot of them. I mean, you can't even get to the treehouse without flying. And so that is why bdubs has absolutely taken the spot for best base for me. His buildings are beautiful on the outside and on the inside and not only that but they have *function* he's managed to make good looking interior with actual Minecraft *function* and that's crazy to me. That's what I aspire to build like.
It really depends on what it is is being built, for terraforming, Bdubs is really great, but scar is better, and for Buildings Bdubs is better but Buy Scar's not half bad either
I agree with almost everything, except scar would've been bumped up to #2 because of his nack for natural shapes in minecraft and how everything just goes together seamlessly. Also, he can make some awesome vehicles as seen in the big dig project
I watched this video randomly on my TV on TH-cam app and just had to open it on my phone to comment, really good video your analysis was perfect and very well thought out and worded, there was no offending anyone even by making judgments on their work(which isnt easy to do) and it was also very wholesome towards the hermitcraft players.. Great job
Grian and Etho have my favorite bases I think Grian’s base is just a masterpiece and Etho’s is so creative and I adore it Edit: I also love Xsuma’s base too, based my Minecraft survival base and it is very difficult
In my opinion grian is the best builder there and I watch it, even though there are really amazing builders there (and I think grian is the funniest of all of them)
I think you'd make a great addition to the hermicraft server. You've clearly proved your skill and prowess at building. You have a great personality and I think you'd merge well with the hermits.
Cubfan deserves an honourable mention aswell. I really love his pyramid and what he's doing to it. There has been some impressive progress to his pyramid, but of course it's almost a month since this video has been released.
An underrated one for me is Joe's base, with the lighthouse, berries, winery, and dog sanctuary. Obviously Joe isn't the grindiest hermit or the most proficient builder, and maybe it's just cause I like his vibe, but I definitely think he has one of the cosiest bases on the server rn
I love that Impulse was recognized!! I also agree he isn't the best builder as someone who is more into technical stuff, but I'm glad I'm not the only one also thinks his base is interesting and eye-catching. He did say he was trying to put more effort in building this season so that mention is doubly great!!
Xd when you mentioned scars magical village as his mage base when i checked the upload date but then you said it took 1 month to edit i understanded why you didnt mentioned the Big Dig
Thanks man! I love Cub's pyramid, especially the stylish buttresses he has around his storage and I think I've watched his content more than any other hermit. But personally, I just had a hard time finding a place for him. He definitely has one of the most unique bases, but until he embellishes the outside of his base and fills up some dead space inside, he won't be making this list. However, if I made a top 5 most unique/creative bases, Cub would definitely be up there in the top 3 along with Etho, Zedaph and Iskall

Thanks man! And I thought I said, "check out her channel?" I'd have to play it back later, lol. Just for the record, I knew that lol. Thanks for the comment
I think bdoubleO is the best builder because of how unique his building is such as using coal ore in his castle. He combines amazing terraformimg and incredible building
Yeah, I have a strong feeling that Cub's base will be in the top when I revisit this list. When I recorded this, there was a lot of dead space in his base. It's really starting to fill out now
I think that Bdubs has the most base or even just building I have ever seen on Hermitcraft with his castle! That creative use of coal and the extra touch he gives the windows really sets him apart from the rest and gives him the status of the best builder in general, in my opinion.
wow first off Im purely amazed by all of the builds. wow! but the 4th one caught my eye, it doesnt even look like it was built in minecraft its so futuristic and sick!
Cub' s pyramid worth of mentioning. Its massive and cool inside and has lots of stuff inside.. That might of taken Impulse's place, but hard to decide... All of them are awesome
Grian and Scar are my favourite builders on the server :0 but honestly all of the builds from all the hermits are super inspiring and amazing in their own unique ways
im sorry but no, grian's style consists of bigger is better, which is cool, but theres nothing really all that new with it. Its cool because its big, yet theres no character to it, no functionality. The back would look really cool with a great gatsby vibe with a pool and such. But theres a difference between being a popular builder and being the best builder. But thats just my two cents
*Can we get this to 15K Likes* ?!? I think so!

I love it!
Doc and iskall in redstone too. :(
Genius they should make a mega base together
Iskall's tree while unfinished is damn impressive. That is the build that makes me sit back and go "wow" from whenever I look at it.
I think when he finishes it, it will be on the list but for now... it is a bald tree...
It's like, if I'm allowed to say this, the Hermitcraft version of Captainsparklez Jerry's Tree
Tristan Savage well its not finished and thats why its not on number 1
@@sin4085 ..... did you not read my comment lol
Nope
I‘m so afraid, he won‘t finish it in time :(
@@TheLilLukas well if season eight starts when 1.17 comes out like I think it will, then he has until summer 2021 to finish, so he has a long time yet. He does seem to get distracted quite a lot though lol
dont forget that grian is maybe going to expand his base upwards
Yep! Pretty pumped for that
@@Derflas you misspelled "not enough"
not before he does interior
And downwards...
*but kinda blew it up-oh wait no
I also want to point out that etho started his base by litterally randomly placing a bunch of blocks in a sort of stairway shape
No one was sure at first if he went insane or if this was some kind of elaborate joke. Now we know he is a genius
The fact that Bdubs uses ores into his builds tells you that Bdubs is beyond your average builder. He's just so good with details. (But Grian is still my fave hehe..)
Ridiculously impressive. I don't know how he does it
Who would imagine coal ore acacia wood andesite and cracked stone bricks would compliment each other?
@@toito00 bdubs would
He used dirt blocks for the wall on his for-sale concrete shop. And it looked like it belongs.
ethos base man.. mans using bee hives and honey as building block
do you know how weird that sounds like
I really don’t know how to even rate the bases they are all special In incredible ways that I could never do
Trust me, it was VERY hard for me to do 😂
cubfran's pyramid could have been mentioned, I loved what he did with the interior
Cubfan's pyramid really cannot be in the top 10, in other hands he got the most Functionable base aside from impulse...
When I recorded this video, there was still a good amount of dead space in Cubfan's base.
However, now it is REALLY coming together and am 100% certain that he will climb the ranks when I revisit this list.
Again, like I said in the outro, I have no ill intention when I don't mention certain people. My goal is to be analytical, not to just mention every hermit to please the masses 🙂
Thanks for the comment man!
Honestly I do not like Cub's pyramid interior. Not consistency and no block palate. Does not clash well.
@@jordanpratt606 Do you know what the word clash means?
@@jordanpratt606 that's Cub's style.
I can explain Ethos base. Like we make our houses, from outside to in side, he makes inside to outside (inverts the conventional) but he don't do the exterior. And with that, he uses diferent types of decorations and styles of building that exist.
what if his interior IS his exterior
@@clnsyn you have a point.
I realized the same thing. I think it is so cool and I wonder if he will ever sort of make the exterior look really cool aswell
Keralis' base feels so much like an actual city my brain just filters it out. I think that's why its underrated.
Holy yah I search it up and it’s nice
my predictions for the end of the season
3 keralis (i imagine his city will be insanely massive)
2 etho (the man knows how to use colours)
1 bdubs (when his village is complete it will look so detailed but i imagine many empty interiors)
Hannan M I definitely agree
Mine is
1:Scar
2:Grian
3: Bdubs (these all are so close)
4:Stress
5:Rendigity dog NEEDS A MENTION
I think I prefer BDubs’ castle. When it’s complete, the build will be so much more vibrant and detailed than the mansion. Don’t forget, Bdubs excels at interiors too so the castle will likely get an incredible interior that Grian’s mansion will not have. This season is so much better than last season
I also think it'll likely be overtaking Grian's mansion when finished. I would say especially when that mountain is done on all sides as well. Have you seen his most recent episode? The natural taper on the mountain looks gorgeous so far!
@@HussarHydeGaming dude ur so underated for this kind of good content..
@@guineapigdance3338 wait till you see my next video 😀
grians mansion was designed for his farms but he kinda looked to it like it'll not work , thats why he leaved it empty for now
joe soque Well it wasn’t designed around not having an interior...it was designed so that Grian could work on his build skills by building diagonally.
Cub pyramid is a great base too.
also, omg I really liked your channel bro, thumbs up to you
Bdubz and grian would be unstoppable
This is one of the biggest problems I have with a lot of the hermits' builds. The lack of expansive interiors makes the exteriors feel less like proper buildings and more like arbitrary shapes.
still superb as far as exteriors go, obviously
I think my issue with Mumbos base is that his concept changed partway through, and that the outside pillars don’t match with the inside of the ruined tower. If it was all ruined, or if it was more clear that the outside pillars were “containing” the interior, it would be better.
That's the whole point of the base. A new generation preserving an ancient ruin.
d zman right but the way it looks, it just doesn’t come across that way, so the whole thing feels disjointed.
Blastof77245 yea thats the point like d zman said a new generation preserving an ancient ruin its obvious the pillars will have a different feeling from the interior
dankzDL and I get that, but I think it should look more like that, and fully commit to that concept
Blastof77245 agreed. these pillars totally lack something
I gotta say, I prefer Scars terraforming and landscaping style over his Building style.. Bdubs is a great builder, also on interiors
But my favourite builder is Grian, because he makes such huge builds. I just love the look of his mansion
Great points!
its why when the three tag team something like the town hall it turns out so well
I can't say anything about bdubs since I don't watch him, but comparing scar and grian to me is always a matter of "What do you need?"
Scar creates Ambiances.
Completely agreed. I cannot judge any of the bases properly. They all look amazing to me.
Agree
I agree bdubs and scar are able to put more character into a small build than grian does in his whole mega builds
He uses game mechanics like natural lighting and blocks that arent ment for building and plays with framing and valuates every aspect of the game.
damn i got scared when i saw his skin
Lol. Excellent. That's my goal haha
Lmao1
I do think cubfan deserves to be on this list. His Pyramid, while being pretty bland, it HUGE. It takes up more then one full map. And the inside, it’s amazing. I’m not much of a cubfan person, but I still admire his base this season, and even last season. He always deliverers when it comes to mega bases.
His base last season was definitely the best Minecraft survival base of any. He finds the most creative ways that use intense red stone but also look really beautiful.
@Project 84 but some real life pyramids were covered in marble and gold before they were sacked. Pyramids are supposed to be very decorated
I don't understand how anything but hype could put grian higher than cubfan on this list.
Top builder this season. Cubfan, hands down.
This guys editing skills tells a different story than his sub count. Come on he deserves a million subs.
Hahah. Haven't worked hard enough for that, but thanks! I appreciate that!
I love how Etho's is clearly built to be in. It isn't just something to look at, because it is basically without exterior. It is all interior, making it about walking around and being in it.
I do find it funny that that of all these builds, Etho's is the most chaotic and random, yet still manages to be one of the best.
I thought Sahara was a complicated redstone contraption.
Well it’s not an easy one either. I do think that Season 7 has already beat Sahara both in terms of sheer size and redstone though
@@doge8825 yet it seems the redstone shops aren't as successful
@@blackmage1276 what does that have to do with anything? Decked out alone is more complicated than anything we saw in season 6. I mean most people would struggle doing that with command blocks, and Tango did it in vanilla
@@blackmage1276 what an ugly pfp
I personally really love Bubbles build style. Its just so beautiful and the way he incorporates “weird” blocks and totally makes it work. He made me realize the potential in each block (esp diorite HAHAHA)
I also really like Grians massive builds and Scars (his looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale) but bdubs takes the win for me.
Falses base has so much potential, when I look at her base I think of a a fantasy movie that dates hundred if not thousands of years into the future where homes and neighborhoods are on floating islands/ platforms.
peanut jimin i see what you did there ;)
I just live off of xisuma's vids
Okay, i'm begging you on knees, please do TOP 10 Hermitcraft 7 shops
TOP 1 - "The Barge"
Bdubs is easily my favorite builder in HC the way he blends everything and how he uses the weirdest things but still makes them look good is amazing
X ain't the owner of the server, he's just the guy who administrates/organizes
Generikb was the original founder of the Hermitcraft server. After leaving, he was succeeded by XisumaVoid. So yeah, same difference
x became the owner after generikb leave the server and he has the server in his house, so technically he is the owner
@@andresm.1390 I'm pretty sure they now use external hardware for the server, as it is a little big.
In one of Xisuma's videos I believe and one of Ijevin's videos, they said he is just an administrator and everyone o the server work together as owners.
He said that all the things like the server machine and dealing with finances is under his name, but they all do it together
10. Cubfan
Super underrated build he's made. Not only is his base massive, but he's managed to capitalize on its interior in a super fun way. He's not the best builder on the server, but he is in no way a poor builder. I just don't agree with some of his decisions in his builds.
9. Mumbo
Like Cub, he really surprised me with how well he made his base, like you said. He's managed to mix technical and building really well. It looks incredible and may even be the most memorable thing about this season.
8. Etho
The fact that a build purely focused on interior design is even on this list is kinda amazing :O.
7. Impulse
This is a big change from your list, but I put Impulse so low only because of where I put my priorities as a builder. Unlike you, I am biased towards technically masterful builds, and to me Impulse's base is something I have seen done before.
6. Xisuma
I really have a soft spot for Xisuma. I want to put him even higher than this, but his builds are limited by the same thing Impulse's are. I love seeing his process, and his ability to juggle so many things at once baffles me just like you.
5. False
I love false, I lowered her on this list tho just because I personally dislike her roof designs, and I found that much of her base relied on its scale rather than technical skills (she still amazing at building just not as amazing as the next ones).
4. Grian
I had to do it to em. Amazing builder and amazing build this season, it's just not as technically skilled as the next ones on the list. Like False's base, it relies on scale, and terraforming is minimal. He just hasn't put as much time into it as others.
3. Keralis
Keralis' base this season is simply stunning. His attention to detail, mindfulness to his surroundings, and technical skill in his base is just incredible. He is a master at building, and you can tell by his base this season.
2. Scar
Scar's Big Dig on top of the fantastical village shows skill and versatility.
1. Bdubs
I feel like true mastery of building can be seen in Bdub's builds.
Honorable Mentions:
Iskall85: Impressive scale, just not too original nor has he really worked on it as much. He may have overstepped the boundaries of survival with this one ;)
Docm77: If he was on the server more, I would have put him on the list most likely.
I mean Grian has one of the most complex bases
@@subhasishghosh6924 I love how he did his base, i think that maybe it was because of the feeling that behind all of that complexity there was an empty inside. It really takes away from the liveliness of the build, not saying it was bad. I just think that the next three were more complexly and thoroughly thought out. Could just be style preference though.
Ethos base is probably my favorite, it has Sooooo much character
I agree with you on scar being the best (with Bdubs probably second tbh, I would love to see them collab on a massive build where scar kind of designs the space and layout and bdubs does buildings). Scars builds always seem so immersive and designed for being in and not just looking at from a certain angle. I think a lot of that comes from him basing his design philosophy on disney parks. Really gives that feeling that its a space meant to be existed in and walked through, explored and looked around.
In my opinion Grian is on par with Bdubs and Scar for top 1 due to their strong sense of details like Bdubs is strong with block palate and building then Scar is strong with the terraforming process and the detailing thoughts while Grian is strong with his great building style and his sense of expansion.
ye, no, bigger isnt always better. Id put etho keralis above grian
@dhery alupayjr. There is nothing wrong with getting help but it does show he may be less skilled than bdubs and scar who wouldn’t need help.
Bdubs and Scar are for sure my most favorite hermitcraft builders
For me, some points went down for grian cause I really hoped he would put at least 1 chicken head in his base
(The charrot doesn’t count cause it was built by mumbo and iskall)
Iskall’s base has nothing standing out....I can only see brown and green....that’s it
Mumbo stuck to his idea/theme of his base
He told ‘I want my base’s nature as....like some people from the future have found and preserved this an ancient build’. But, I think there needs to be more in the ‘futuristic’ side of the base.
Those were just my suggestions on the ‘Sahara’ hermits’ bases
“Your list is very bad but your face is uncomfortably handsome”
LMAOOOOOO
I'd personally put rendog and cub on the list, but I agree their bases are still a work in progress and need more work.
Also I'd personally say the builder list would go like this:
1. Bdubs
2. Scar
3. Grian
All amazing builders though. Great video, can't wait to see the updated one eventually!
Grian decided to go back to his roots and build the ultimate rustic house
I really like Beef's 3 Fox Hole build. Why was that not mentioned?
I love it too! Personally doesn't make my list though. Where would you put it between 1-10?
This is an old video. Cub's pyramid was still very unfinished when I recorded this so that's why lol. When I update this list, he'll be in for sure
6:40 Yes Hussar. When I see Etho's base, the first thing I think is "SOCK"
It was very late when I recorded that lol 😂 😂 😂. I was very confused when I edited it
Scar is definitely my favorite builder but boy oh boy does he have stiff competition :D
Agree! He totally helped make mumbos base look really good
My top 10:
10. Ethos funky base
9. Tangos toon towers
8. Falsesymmetry steampunk base
7. Iskall85 omega tree
6. Scars magical village
5. Keralis city
4. Xizumavoids base
3. Bdubs medieval city
2. Mumbo jumbo spanner base
1. Grians mansion
IMO, this is a pretttyyyy terrible list
Perfect list😁
Best builder=Scar
Second best=BDubs
I couldn't agree more to a statement. Grian is great, but the texturing of BDubs and Scar is unmatched
@@HussarHydeGaming They all have their own areas. Scar? Terraforming. Grian? BIG builds. Bubbles? Making diorite look good.
Sven Kristensson bdubs is great with using weird resouces to a cool looking build like coal or furnace

@@svenkristensson6573 shhhhhhhh iskall might see bubbles is using diorite again
I agree with almost everything, except scar would've been bumped up to #2 because of his nack for natural shapes in minecraft and how everything just goes together seamlessly. Also, he can make some awesome vehicles as seen in the big dig project
He really does know how to tie a series of builds together!
Great in-depth video today, I got recommended and I’m dropping a sub
Thanks a bunch man!
Hussar & Hyde Gaming yeah!
Great job
Awwhhhh! Thanks so much, man. Made my day!
Grian and Etho have my favorite bases I think Grian’s base is just a masterpiece and Etho’s is so creative and I adore it
Edit: I also love Xsuma’s base too, based my Minecraft survival base and it is very difficult
Grian building the mansion upside down in the nether is such a flex and honestly he deserves #1.
In my opinion grian is the best builder there and I watch it, even though there are really amazing builders there (and I think grian is the funniest of all of them)
Personally, B-dubs is my favorite builder on the server, but I see where all your choices are coming from! Great video!
I wish Grian would do the light in the lonely tower.
I think you'd make a great addition to the hermicraft server. You've clearly proved your skill and prowess at building.
You have a great personality and I think you'd merge well with the hermits.
Whatever you do don’t ask Grian to do the back of his mansion
Legend says that in ep 44, he will hire Iskall as his therapist
Cubfan deserves an honourable mention aswell. I really love his pyramid and what he's doing to it. There has been some impressive progress to his pyramid, but of course it's almost a month since this video has been released.
An underrated one for me is Joe's base, with the lighthouse, berries, winery, and dog sanctuary. Obviously Joe isn't the grindiest hermit or the most proficient builder, and maybe it's just cause I like his vibe, but I definitely think he has one of the cosiest bases on the server rn
I just want to say, this is the first video of yours I have found and I'm immediately in love with your content and your voice. Keep up the good work!
I'm so glad!
Yeah, False's tower is way more cyberpunk or digipunk than steampunk.
I had just watched a Vintage Beef episode, so I think I had the word "Steampunk" stuck in my head lol
@@HussarHydeGaming but 3 fox hole is cyber punk as well not steam punk
I love that Impulse was recognized!! I also agree he isn't the best builder as someone who is more into technical stuff, but I'm glad I'm not the only one also thinks his base is interesting and eye-catching. He did say he was trying to put more effort in building this season so that mention is doubly great!!
I'm really looking forward to seeing how his landscaping skills evolve as he goes around the greenhouse as well 🙂
Xd when you mentioned scars magical village as his mage base when i checked the upload date but then you said it took 1 month to edit i understanded why you didnt mentioned the Big Dig
Very weird just hearing Runescape music in the background lol wasn't expecting that at all when clicking on this video
Hey do u know what song did he use in the Keralis part?
Lol great list but I would put cubs great pyramid on the list, maybe even first.
Same
Grian himself said that Mumbo’s really good at building, but he is just too humble
My top 3:
3)Cub
2)Keralis
1) Budubs
This is very underrated content, and it made me laugh out loud! Great job and please keep this up! I would totally keep watching your vids!
11:40 "She says that she calls it a steampunk (cyberpunk) build... but it kinda just reminds me of the elite 4"
*You open the last door. False stands there and looks right at you. "Well then," he pulls out his Pokeball. "Shall we begin?"*
When the music starts playing and you realize that the theme is none other than Champion Cynthia's, you realized you screwed up
Scar's magical village is just his trading hall
His best work is yet to come
Nice vid, and I totally agree with ur opinion! Just one thing.... Pearlescent moon is a women
Thanks man! And I thought I said, "check out her channel?"
I'd have to play it back later, lol. Just for the record, I knew that lol. Thanks for the comment
Bro where are your subscribers this quality is *chef kiss*
In my opinion:

11th: Rendog
12th: Scar
13th: Stress

Oh wow! You went hard! No hermits missed!
This design makes so much more sence in retrospect seeing scar also take inspiration from it to help finish mumbos base
I think bdoubleO is the best builder because of how unique his building is such as using coal ore in his castle. He combines amazing terraformimg and incredible building
doofenshimrtz evil incorporated!
it's stuck in my head whenever the tower's mentioned
My top 5:
5. Keralis
4. Grian
3. Ethoslab
2. Goodtimeswithscar
1. Bdubleo
Etho do be slabbin' tho. Lol, extra spicy list man!
mumbos base is underrated, i love it. i also love how the heart beats when you get close to it. imo it has the best theme
What about Cub's pyramid?! Top 5 material imo.
Yeah, I have a strong feeling that Cub's base will be in the top when I revisit this list. When I recorded this, there was a lot of dead space in his base. It's really starting to fill out now
Im an architect major and its very cool to see you break down minecraft houses in such detail
completely disagree, number one should be TFC
i wish, but the competition dude.
I think that Bdubs has the most base or even just building I have ever seen on Hermitcraft with his castle! That creative use of coal and the extra touch he gives the windows really sets him apart from the rest and gives him the status of the best builder in general, in my opinion.
heres my list!

1. Everyone's bases
true
Cub is worth a mention. His pyramid is great and full of mini games
Your list is very bad but you are uncomfortably handsome.
wow first off Im purely amazed by all of the builds. wow! but the 4th one caught my eye, it doesnt even look like it was built in minecraft its so futuristic and sick!
I just wish that decked out was a real app or game made by mojang
I feel like a fan will definitely code and use commands to create a version Decked Out that people can play. We'll see
Cub' s pyramid worth of mentioning.
Best builder: Grian 😌
Agreed. But he's not focusing on his base right now.
im sorry but no, grian's style consists of bigger is better, which is cool, but theres nothing really all that new with it. Its cool because its big, yet theres no character to it, no functionality. The back would look really cool with a great gatsby vibe with a pool and such. But theres a difference between being a popular builder and being the best builder. But thats just my two cents
I loved this video. Agreed on almost all your reasoning. I'd love to watch a part 2 when the season ends to see how the ranking changes.
In his second season, grian already has the biggest, best and most detailed bases
Absolutely not the biggest (Cubfan, Keralis, Xisuma, BDubs). Absolutely not the most detailed (Scar, BDubs). And best is up to debate....
Your voice is soo good and awesome love you're editing and game play
Ngl Grian got lazy with his builds. I don't hear other Hermits brag about how much time they wasted doing a project.
