I made this, it worked really well. I used the polyamide-3 from makingcosmetics. I used wheat germ oil since I’m on the guaifenesin protocol, which limits a lot of topical oils. Thanks for posting this formulation.
Hi there! Great content 😊 I’m looking to make diy makeup to ensure no toxins or chemicals and I’m checking the ingredients on EWG and the data on these ingredients are limited. Do you have any knowledge on the purity of these ingredients? Thank you for the content!
I use Evan Healy which is iron oxide suspended in an oil. It’s wonderful but sometimes they’re out of my shade. Was thinking of making my own. Can you look at the ingredients and tell us how to make it? It’s very luminous.
@HumblebeeAndMe I am new to you (LOVE everything I have watched, I signed up for your free formulator course, love it!). I was wondering if I could try melting the Polyamide-3 separately, then add all the other ingredients (that I've combined in a separate beaker). Do you think that might work?
Welcome!! ❤️ Don't forget to check out my blog (humblebeeandme.com) as well-I've been blogging since 2011 while I’ve only been on TH-cam since about 2016, so there are a lot more formulations on the blog. The blog is also where my totally free ingredient encyclopedia and FAQ live, and they're both packed with tons of super-helpful information ❤️ Happy making!
Nice recipe! Thanks for doing this video! Also, if someone does not have a glass top stove maybe they can use an electric griddle or even a flat pan on stove top with the beaker? 😊
Would a powder 'mineral' starter base of titanium dioxide, magnesium aluminum silicate, and sodium benzoate work for this recipe, or are there any possible reactions that should be advised against? I want to create a long lasting colorless foundation such as this.
I have already forgotten what I'm wearing in this video 🙈 I think it's one of the transfer-proof lip colours I'm working on, but I have over 20 of them right now and 10+ of them were made in the last 2 weeks 😬
Thank you so much for buying my book! All the ingredients are linked in the free partner blog post @ www.humblebeeandme.com/transfer-resistant-cream-foundation/ :)
Hi, Marie. Is that correct that "Silica Dimethyl Silylate" prevents the foundation from settling into fine lines? I ask because that ingredient seems to be used in lipstick products much more so than foundation/concealers when it comes to professional formulations, from what I see online. Thank you.
hi marie, so i purchased your book but when i try to make the colorblend for avneet cool med/ it makes it very hard to get any teaspoons with 1/64 7/16 3/32 ect what does that mean in teaspoons i can not find any teaspoons with those measurements so i dont know how much to add im baisically in the same spot as before buying your book i dont know how much to add where do i buy those specific teaspoons??
Ha, I was right! I knew yhis was a foundations! What an incredible formula! This is a must try!!! This was very interesting Marie. You don't need a concealer? Anything to put less on my face. Getting to old to fuss to much, lol! Jill
Thanks, Jill! I rarely use concealer, I'll just build up coverage in areas that need it :) I often don't even put foundation all over my face. I always do my nose and chin for redness + under eyes, and sometimes I just stop there. Happy making!
Hi Marie thank you for this formulation I really enjoy it and looking forward to buy your make it up book , and also I have a request can u please please pretty please talk about LATIC ACID for skin care formulation .
I was trying to look up the polyamide-3 at TKB, they no longer have any results for that product? Any other ideas where to get in US? I have all other ingredients and am only lacking the polyamide. Thank you! Looks like a fun formulation.
I can not find the polyamide 3 in Spain, could you help to find it in Europe, please? Thanks thanks thanks a lot! I love it your videos and your book it's one of my favorites!😊

I love your content! Thank you for being such an informative, thorough and beginner-friendly source for foundational (& more!) info. It’s obvious how much time, effort and thought goes into your product formulas, encyclopedia, videos and postings. What you do is SO impressive and helpful! I have a suggestion for a type of product to be formulated. I’ve noticed that a particular-ish kind of cosmetic has been gaining traction. They’re soft luminizer/facial tint hybrid products, which give users that prized dewy skin look while also providing light coverage. Some tout additional benefits with qualities of a primer and/or SPF as well. Product (type) I’ve noticed trending: •Charlotte Tillbury Hollywood Flawless Filter •Joah Tinted Glow Crystal Luminizer Stick •Maybelline Instant Age Rewind 4 in 1 Glow Perfector • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Radiant Booster Primer & Serum To name a few…and of course there are many more similar products out there. Something that can be easily applied with hands or tools, and is a lightweight, looks-like-skin, low coverage, healthy glow (but not glitter…more “hydrated skin radiance”), moisturizing kind of thing for everyday wear and super easy to use. Perhaps this plants a seed in your mind, should you ever want to attempt a formula for this kind of product. 😁

You'd want to make the mineral makeup with less (or no) sericite mica :) Trying to add more pigment to this will make it really hard to work with-you might be able to get away with another 5%, but that won't give the same coverage boost as going back to the mineral makeup. Happy making!
