Making a powder from spices actually, isn't that crazy at all. I remember that once in a primary school my chemistry teacher said that we can only put on a face that what we can also consume. Skin is our largest living organ and we should take care of it. Great video!!!
true, i recently read a story of an athlete who almost lost her career because of suspected drug use… when in reality a specific preservative in the body lotions and makeup she used (everyday items) were absorbed through her skin and metabolized by her body into a compound that is looked for in drug tests. i believe it was chlorphenesin that can metabolize into 4-CPA.
I made this recipe to match my skin tone using arrowroot, bentonite, Ceylon cinnamon, cranberry powder, ginger, and a small amount of dark chocolate cocoa. Never, and I mean never, could I imagine a kitchen cosmetic would produce such a miraculous blurring, high coverage that somehow brightens but warms my whole face. I use it as a finishing powder on top of an ivory and nude mix of Believe Beauty foundation. If you saw my before and after photos, you would see the drastic difference. For the first time in my life I have porcelain, bright looking skin. And I got in on the first batch! Thanks for the video. I never got this with expensive finishing powders. It looks muddy in the mixing jar, and I expected the worst, but something happens when I put it on my skin.
I was tired of buying stuff from markets so i decided to make my own stuff. Just watched your video and im gonna be joining your channel. Think im going to learn allot from you. Thanks ma'am ❣️
I actually made a bronzer this way a while back but it was missing something...thanks for the oil tip! I have beet powder so I will attempt a powder blush as well. And those jars are great! Makeup is food. It is absorbed through our skin so what's safer than actual food in our makeup, & what woman doesn't want to smell chocolate & a natural essential oil all day! Very few! 🍫🌷Thank you so much!
Even though as a child I enjoyed sucking the white juicy flesh on the cocao beans; I use Carob instead of cocoa because it's healthier/more nutritious. Arrowroot is not a GMO like corn starch, plus it has a cooling effect on the skin, unlike corn ... Africans, Caribbean people, Asia, and other tropical countries use arrowroot (also called other names) a lot. Arrowroot porridge was/is made especially for babies whose moms were poor. Decades ago, mothers wouldn't want anyone to see them buying arrowroot starch/powder. It grew wild all over our yard. Lord knows I'm glad the rest of the world can enjoy these natural foods some of us as children grew tired of and took for granted.
Thank-you. This was very useful esp the tips towards the end! I am new to makeup and I do not want to put too much chemical on my face. I hope this works for me. Fingers 🤞
A very interesting video. I would never have thought to use spices and cocoa. I must give it a try. How does the foundation cope with perspiration? We are coming into summer now and the day is quite warm so wondering if this foundation would be nice to wear.
I have to use food stamps until I find employment again (which is hopefully soon). What is a good spice alternative to the bentonite clay that I can use for similar shade? Plus, its nice to have the spices on hand for cooking and teas. Thank you for this tutorial, I was running out of my face powder already and this would be fun to try out!
I actually skip the clay and it works well. I would also opt out of arrowroot powder and switch for cornstarch. I use cornstarch, spices for color and no clay and i’d say it works just as well!
Thanks for the video! I’m very interested in making my own makeup. Do you have a video on how to make liquid foundation or any tips on what I can add to this recipe to make it a liquid?
Sorry, it is suppose to be coconut oil not coco oil. 😆 I will let you know if it works without being oily if you are interested. I really like making your stuff o thanks for sharing.
I use tapioca starch because its what i had on hand and it works well! Whats the difference between tapioca and arrowroot for makeup? Anyone else tried tapioca?
I use tapioca starch alone on my skin mixed with witch hazel in place of foundation and it works terrific. I use beetroot powder for blush. Then spray again with witch hazel mixed with a bit of rose oil. I have a sensitivity to titanium dioxide which is in all foundation and blushes which makes me very ill with flu like symptoms with just one application.
@@minibubbles4058 I have a dehydrator so I took a can of beets and put it in the dehydrator then blended really well. You could probably put them in the oven to dry them out too!
Do you have a video on homemade concealer? I have acne and scars and I have been trying different recipes for concealer but they all have little to no coverage and won't cover my acne spots. I sadly need a little more than just powder
I tried it, spent a lot of money. What shall i say, it is not worth it. I will buy now 100 % pure cosmetics, they also don’t use titanium dioxide and only oils.

@@ouroilyhouse ma'am can this work on your bare face as a foundation?
So? Have you tried it? How did it work?
Nice, its actually all good for your skin with no mystery chemicals.
I cam confirm this is amazing I really want to make a bronzer but I cant find a dark enough spice since I'm black
You’re the best teacher 👍
Thank you 😊
🌹Love from India💐. I using same natural products for my face. Good and healthy video.... Congrats mam.....🕊⚘🌱
Thank you, I'm going to try this but add it to a healthy balm!
Thank you for the great advice. How can this be made into a liquid foundation for older skin? Thank you
I want to ask can I make a liquid foundation using this recipe by adding more oil?? please need help for my assignment :)
You can use moisturizing cream to mix it
@@Tin677but it would not be an allnatural foundation. Is there a natural ingredient substitutes?
@@nmana9759 I'm guessing we could look up a diy moisturizing cream then add the powdered diy makeup to it

Going to try soon myself but I heard a lot if people like touse aloe vera gel Shea butter and other ingredients for a gell/liquid

Awesome🎉! Thank you so much for this! Does this suit cystic acne prone, oily to combination, acne scarred/pitted face?
Definitely will be giving it a try.

I LOVE THIS.
This is what I was searching for. :) Thank you! Cinnamon is not problematic If you're pregnant?
Cinnamon is really irritating for the skin, replace it by cocoa powder
I have a question, can you add coco oil (or what kind of oil do u suggest) to make this a liquid foundation.
I have not tried that yet, so I don't really know.
Sorry, it is suppose to be coconut oil not coco oil. 😆 I will let you know if it works without being oily if you are interested.
I really like making your stuff o thanks for sharing.
Coconut oil is likely to clog pores, so it's probably not the best choice for the majority.
Will this give Sun protection? Also can I use liquid bentonite clay (I have very fair skin btw)?
Could you please write the ingredients coz im not english to understand them just by hearig. thanks in advance
What are the alternatives of nutmeg and air root powder plz?
You can do cornstarch instead of arrowroot. Nutmeg is for color so you can use the other options mentioned. :)
Cinnamon and nutmeg are very heat-causing spices and may burn skim, our largest organ.
