- In today's video we install a set of Cadillac / Corvette Brembo brakes on our 2022 2nd Gen BRZ! Install required some shaving of the knuckle, but other then that, the process went smoothly!

I was just about to say, the knuckles are different sizes how is this going to work ? And then I watched the video. This is why there is not many brake kits available yet. 86speed has some AP racing brake kits available and they have fabricated new knuckles for them. It looks great though bro. I’m leaning towards stoptech or AP racing
Yessir, there are only a few kits out already and they are all over 4k, Ive heard great things about both brands, you're gonna love a bbk on these cars!
that black round plastic piece on the wheel hub? Is that a spacer? Something to prevent hub and rim from rusting together?
It's actually metal to bring the wheel out a little more I believe so it doesn't rub on the caliper
Limited brz 2022 has 18" wheels ... would it clear?

I wonder if these brakes will fit with the base model 17” wheels.
It will not, you will need spacers or bigger wheels

Gonna keep them this color for now, but will most likely powder coat them later on when I get the rear set which I'm aiming for a OEM BRZ Brembo rear set up!
@@B_Levan is there a reason you went for the CTS-V set? or is it mostly due to cost?
Did you update the brake lines to stainless also ??
Not yet, considering the car is for show, the shop said it wasnt necessarily needed, but will most likely upgrade all lines once we get to the rears!

Any plans for any track/autocross with this car?
Most likely not this car considering the aim was show car for SEMA, but I do plan to pick up a car for track and autocross in the near future
@@B_Levan I see! With the great chassis, wider wheels and tires/BBK, that you’ve already done, I just think you would have fun doing an autcross at least once in the BRZ.
Yea it looks cool but I think just changing the pads would’ve been the more cost effective option with minimal difference in performance
Would be more cost effective, however this build is aimed for SEMA this year so BBK all the way!

So maybe I did my math wrong or something but the parts list added up to about $500 but at the end you said the rear brakes would cost another $1500 implying that the front brakes were that as well. Am I missing something? Love the video by the way!
Appreciate the support boss! You gotta remember the calipers and installation price that I didn’t include because those prices are based off your local market. Also 2 rotors are needed not just 1 and the calipers are about $600-$700 and installation is gonna be around $400
Sourcing your own parts, you may be able to find some cheater, also Installing everything yourself you can keep cost down. Lets say in the neighborhood of $700-800.
what kind of radar detector is that ? and is it worth it ?
Its an escort 360 MAX and id say its worth it, only thing it cant stop you from is getting lazered, but no cop radar can prevent or warn you on that so this is the probably one of the best ones you could get

Adding bbk to the front without the proper proportioning to the rear is going to adversely affect the balance of this car. This is a well tuned machine from the factory where they spend countless hours of R&D. Not sure if I’d do the same unless buying a complete front/rear kit designed for the car.
Rear will come in time! Aim for the car is SEMA so gonna keep pushing those "unnecessary" parts on it!
I don’t quite agree. This same kit was used by an other TH-camr Johnythecardoctor on his turbo FRS on the track and the car performed flawlessly. The CEO of Spoon sports only uses a front BBK on the s2000 there is no rear BBK and the braking on those cars is improved. The only way to really screw up the brakes is by using a two different compounds at the same time.
