      I think both are great and they are so good that the diffrence is minimal. Tho i like iphone better when using apps like instagram/snapchat, the quality on iphone is better then Samsung. I had a S22ultra and when i took photos or videos on snapchat, it was kind of a blurry and the quality wasnt that great, but on the iphone its perfect. Im still jealous on samsung that they have the insane zoom, i really miss that on my 14 pro max :)

    Yes, I would agree that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra takes it! What we have to bear in mind is that Samsung will release camera system updates down the line, which could perfect the experience. The Camera Assistant app (Galaxy App Store) helps to reduce shutter lag. Also, in Pro Mode, it is possible to adjust the White Balance, and other settings for perfection. I think 'reviewers' must emphasize this factor. Why? Simply because not everybody is going to be content to point and shoot; some of us like to fiddle about with settings to get optimum results.
    Finally, I would imagine that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra video footage lends itself to being easier to colour grade in a decent video editing app / software.

    • @robertlangdon494

    i agree. Both phones have incredible cameras, but the majority of consumers will not be able to tell the difference. for the Creatives and/or tech nerds who pay attention to this, it's just fuel for the fire. Both are very capable, both can handle the family photos, and both once set in pro modes, can rival professional equipment (kind of).
    I'm intrigued by the stabilization of the S23U, as many other reviewers have mentioned is pretty incredible, and secondly, as a landscape photographer, I'd love to test the 200mpix camera on the same landscapes I'm shooting my pro gear on.
    My biggest gripe about phones is the lack of customization. And as a tech nerd, I like to define my user experience specific to my needs. I can kind of do it on the iPhone, but not quite like I can on Android. What I do like about iPhone is the chip integration and efficiencies it has.

    Samsung's shutter lag has been going downhill since the 16MP s6. That camera doesn't have all of the whizz bang software tweaks, but I pull it out every time I get a new phone to compare (s8, note 10+, s21 ultra, s23 ultra on order) and it not only can take literally 5 photos in the same time the others take 1, it still has the most detail out of anything that has come since. Even the s21 ultra at 100MP. I don't know why 12MP became the sweet spot, probably because of the multiplier for binning...but I would've loved to have seen them take the 16MP sensor and do some software magic with that, rather than go to these crazy high MP cameras. Maybe it wouldn't get the low light performance,.but it sucks that such an old camera does some really important things so much better.

I paint models and I need a phone thats good for taking close ups- as the models can be very small, and I dont want to just rely on zooming in fron a distance- I'd need to be physically close up. I'm typing this on S23 Ultra but...I'd rather have Iphone camera, to be honest. First of all - shutter lag is still there. I just can't believe that they can't solve what's there since my first Samsung, S7 edge. Yeah, pics of buildings and Moon are cool, but try capturing anything that's moving (kid, pet...) - it's still blurry. And there are some minor hiccups in camera too. I guess they will solve that with software update, and next one and...S24 series will come out and no one will even talk about S23. I can bet that releasing one device in, let's say three years - we would have better cameras, because they would put some time and effort in perfecting the damn software. Presenting new hardware every year is cool but - in reality, things aren't so great. So in conclusion, yes, I'd rather have Iphone camera. It's somehow - predictable. You kinda know what the final result will be. With Samsungs camera there is still a lot of hit and miss. Of course, as much as cameras are great, using a device in 2023 that doesn't even have split screen feature (with all that powerfull hardware) is a big no for me so I preordered Samsung...

    I own both. I loved my iPhone 14 pro max over my s22 ultra. my s22 ultra is a different story. in short there is absolutely nothing that the iPhone does better than the s23 ultra. people are saying this is a lazy update from Samsung. I disagree. this is easily the best update on any of their phones ever. the s23 ultra stands light years ahead of iPhone. it's literally in a different league. the best phone I have ever used and iv had them all.. apple iPhone has definitely been dethroned. well done Sammy. my belief in you has been restored

    To me is doesn't matter what the Samsung camera can do. I tried Android ( after using the iPhone for years, and I have an iMac) ... I pulled out all my hair in less than A WEEK and gave up. I gave it to a friend who needed a new phone and could not afford to buy one. He is also .... an Android / Windows person!
    I went back to Apple. I am not talking about camera here... I am talking about finding things in Settings, moving around in the phone ... it's a different planet.
    It was impossible for me.

    Note for those of us shooting in PAL countries, there is still no ability to film in the correct frame rates, 25/50fps, so you risk getting flickering lights and will have stuttering video when you try and mix this phones video with other footage filmed at the correct frame rate.
    Bizzare that Google/Samsung still refuse to give us this ability.
    You can shoot 25/50fps with phones, so buy that brand if this is important to you.

    DxOMark ranks the new cameras of the S23 Ultra behind those of the iphone 13!!! pro Max. Sad but true. In reality, the cameras of the S23 Ultra can keep up and are even better depending on the situation.

  • @duckilythelovely3040
    @duckilythelovely3040 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The review of the video quality was a little too linear. The iPhone does not win in all situations when it comes to video.
    For example, at night time that has 23 ultra actually single-handedly beats the iPhone 14 pro Max due to the iPhones intense flaring dots. It also has more of a jitter. It's important to note, that also the 8K mode is extremely nice and situations where it works very well.
    I wouldn't say that 99% of users won't use AK mode, because it is just one tap.
    In fact most of the people who have the 23 are using 8k mode.
    I feel like some people are too quick to assume that anything that requires one press the majority of people will not use. I think this is a fallacy and just a very linear and lazy way of thinking.
    Even with that said, with standard video shooting the Samsung is far better at night.

    • @duckilythelovely3040
      @duckilythelovely3040 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Apple fanboys dismissing the 3x and 10x video of the S23U all because it destroys the iPhone there and yet when the iPhone finally gets one, they would say it's the greatest feat of engineering. I can't count the times when i wished my S20 had much better zoom when recording video.. be it at parties when everyone is fighting for a spot, or at excursions or beaches. The list goes on.
