If you are into Lombardo check out his new band, that Mike Patton joined, "Dead Cross" (also features members from The Locust) They just recorded their first album, and have a song called, "Shillelagh" they just released today i believe. They seem punk/thrash/odd --- When Lombardo went back to Slayer i thought it was great, and the two albums he did with them i thought were so much better than the ones without him (I do love most Slayer, not too hip on the most recent release)
This was Mike Patton's favorite album as a kid. He just didn't understand something. He said, "Slayer made the best metal album of all time, why was the next album metal?"
I Like Trees I agree.... he’s such a great person. What happened was beyond fucked Up. I have always appreciated Dave as a person and a beast of a drummer/talent. The others were and are way too full of themselves. That’s okay, bc he is appreciated by the masses and other bands are lucky to have him. What a fantastic collaboration here. 👌🏽🙌🏽✊🏽💟
Ha! Yeah that's pretty damn true!! Patton's versions in this medley are brutal. Way more brutal than the original material even though the original material is pretty much music royalty as far the tracks go.
Considering how much Kerry King apparently hated Fantômas (because he's a bitter old fart), I wouldn't be surprised if Patton never thought to get in the studio and record it because he knew they wouldn't be allowed to put it out officially anywhere.
as much as I love being blasted in the brain with Mike's vocal "hot load", there are those moments where it's bleep bleep bloop and I'd rather not hear that. just my "rocker-bitch" constructive criticism...
I love and appreciate Dave so much. He’s the greatest guy. Mike is as well. Musical geniuses!! This is epic and I love it so much. Because I lived it. 🙌🏽💟💟💟
Yeah! I saw them live. And, yes, for me it`s a new kind of art! Real Magic!!! And Patton is one of the most talented persons on this planet!!! The good thing on this is, they got humor, don`t forget!
I can’t remember if I’ve commented on this, but Mike Patton is the only man alive that can make Slayer sound like a boyband and I’m not even sorry for saying it.
I see your point, and I have to admit that is hilarious, but I would say maybe more that Mike Patton is the only man who can make Slayer seem like they're emotionally stable in comparison! But honestly your quote is way funnier!
Congratulations you just made it to my unpublished quote book! If it ever gets published I'll send you the check for money! I'd be amazed we're going to make any money, actually it might cost me to print up and distribute them myself. If you want to chip in on the costs? I'm playing with you about chipping into the public but I would be surprised that we made money. However, if we do get published I'll put you in for sure what's your name we not as accredited.
all from the cd 'reign in blood' for those looking for a fantasic slayer album. i had heard the shitty sounding version a while back, this is MUCH better.... thanks for posting.
@raidermaxx23 hey! Thanks for asking, I really did. I'm a little bit too cool for school now, but 8 years ago I thought that I would die from a broken heart. That's very sweet of you.😊
@Hardcoer84 It's all about the arrangement. Patton's vocals work in this specific arrangment of the Slayer songs. In my opinion, anyway. However, were they to cover the songs without changing anything about them, it would sound quite crappy.
Mike Patton: Amazing Voice Dave Lombardo: Look at 4:34. Awesome Buzzo: Can all guitarrists play the Slayer's riffs and be the master of all feedbacks? Trevor Dunn: The only bassist who can continue all of this greatest musicans called Fantômas.
...whats wrong with the crowd ? How ....can they stand and don´t move ? Shouldn´t you try to tear out the arm of the one who stands next to you or to jump into every one who attemps to stand in your way when you hear angel of death !?!??!?!?
For all of you who think it sucks look at it this way: at least it's different; most bands are just giving us more of the same. They have forgoten that being an artist is about taking risks. Remember that all of the great's in any genre of music became legends by taking risks and were popular becuase no one else was like them. For innovation to occur one must risk failing a thousand times before coming up with something truly awsome. Those who don't take risks risk being mediocre and unoriginal.
Somebody else think Patton is one of greatest minds in music for last decades???
Unquestionably
Tele tubbus
yep. agree. Patton steps out of the box/comfort zone compared to other vocalist.
Patteon is the greatest.
He's to the 90's & 2000's what Zappa was to the 70's & 80's
I've long been a fan of Patton's work but he annoys the fuck out of me.
Mike Patton, Dave Lombardo, King Buzzo, and Trevor Dunn...fuck yes.
This video sums up the entire brilliance of Pattons vocal range
5:47 sneaky little line
Even better when you have Slayer's former drummer playing

Have you ever checked out Grip Inc.? Another band Lombardo put together mid 90's to early 2000's.
Robert dead cross is still in pre orders. They have one song released, and it's awesome. Also fuck yeah for grip inc. One of the best bands ever.
Dead cross album is amazing....all mike patton work is amazing.....patton for prez (or galactic overlord)
Greedyselfish97 And their best drummer
This was Mike Patton's favorite album as a kid. He just didn't understand something. He said, "Slayer made the best metal album of all time, why was the next album metal?"
Robert tough act to follow
I love Slayer
He's actually right but he missed Necrophagist.
@@un_tlaloque and now archspire.
I think he meant why didnt they do something new.
Dave Lombardo is a monster.
He's not a monster, he's a fucking machine.
Mike Patton is the hardest working man in the music industry. His vocal range is amazing.

"Enter to the realm of Sataaaann........thank you thank you" ... ROFL
Okay, that proves it: The scream at the beginning of "Angel of Death" DOES sound even better when mingled with dial-up modem sounds.
i love the electronics/nuances/feeling patton adds to the songs. buzzo's almost "crude" versions of the riffs are a nice element too.
This is so fucking good. Went to a Slayer concert recently and it was more like Tom, Kerry & Friends. Lombardo can't be replaced.
The Bolan
Spot on they fucked up by Fucking him over again hope they never make another album , the latest one is Fucking awful!

4:13 Amazing , he hits that high note scream right on the key .Truly a good ear.
he’s flat for the high note on Angel Of Death. doesn’t quite get there
@@coldacre he could've if he wanted to do it...

This is how Slayer show looks from the head of my mom
so they look better than they are?
Ha! Yeah that's pretty damn true!! Patton's versions in this medley are brutal. Way more brutal than the original material even though the original material is pretty much music royalty as far the tracks go.

Why hasn't mike patton released this as a studio version yet.

What Tom Araya can only do in one take, Mike Patton can replicate in a bunch of times
Natsume I agree!!! ✊🏽💟
Slayer >
I'm a huge Slayer fan and Mike Patton fan. Put the two together and I just melt........
As much as it would be great on an album, this could never be done the same way ever again. This is amazing.!!!!

Had the pleasure of seeing this medley in Detroit at Fantomas gig. Literally created a shit storm of awesomeness!!!

hahaha I think the same
Ronin what's brilliant, though, it's that he's not. He doesn't need it.

4:05 wheres this sample from?
No, it's his own creation.
