It was good times. Better living. Such is life. Time goes on. As someone there lol ill say this. It wasn't that long ago stop thinking that it's over because it dosnt have to be. And it's not! This aint a band from the 90s but there after. Not really a 90s kid band. Still love them don't get me wrong. But definitely not 90s
John Howard almost didnt let them in to Aus.. It was post 9-11 and he George W's nuts in his mouth at that stage. While I am no SOAD fan, that would have been a dark day for music, and a really dark day for Australian culture.
I was fortunate to see SOAD at Hershey, PA 2002. They were on top of the world at that point. People sang word for word. The sky was filled with smoke, objects, bras, anything people could take or throw. I got pushed into a mosh pit and took an elbow to the nose, breaking it. I stayed another 40 mins with blood pouring from my nose. The pain was temporary, the memory is forever! 🤘
+jeannette thonnard you could always take cameras to the Big Day Out, they only clamp down on professional camera gear, that's the same case at most gigs/festivals. No one will bust your chops over a point and click camera..
***** John is always right, if you listen to it carefully you can actually hear that serj and daron usually go off beat. Also in the concert at Armenia they nailed it.
***** It's Daron that didn't keep up with John. You can hear the guitar is slower than the drums for a few seconds, but who gives a fuck anyways. Shit happens, it happens to the best drummers, guitarists, pianists etc. at some time. Especially if you cant hear whats going on properly in the ear monitors, sometimes it tends to slide out of your ears or the mixing is bad and you hear just noise at that particular moment. Best way to prevent this is playing with a metronome live but even then shit can go wrong. Just be glad they actually performed live and not just playback lol
Mi riporta indietro all’anno 2000 a Bologna… casa di universitari… premesso si viveva in 10 in casa (invece di 4) e questo era uno degli album che mettevamo più spesso allo stereo la mattina al risveglio… bei ricordi!!!

It's so different and so incredibly good. Talent without limits that is allowed to explode like this makes my heart burst with admiration. You are absolutely amazing.
At 9:00 when they start going out of time, you can see serj looking very nervously at daron 😅 they do have a habit of losing themselves live, john normally just marches on regardless of what everyone else is doing, but here they all came back in on time
Us Aussies LOOOVE SOAD. Saw them at Big Day Out when i was younger. The atmosphere was electric, and Daron on that guitar is amazing. I couldve watched him forever
Loudest show I've ever been too was SOAD in Copenhagen ... luckily i got my personally designed earplugs 5 hours prior AND i was wearing those big ass "headphones" on top and my ears was still ringing after the show
Ah memories, i always loved 12:35 where Daron says needle while Serj says shotgun. Because when they played at astoria it was the other way around. Daron said shotgun and Serj said needle.
Australia mid 2000s big day out… what a vibe.. Channel V, JJJ, good pingas, cheap booze, no iPhones, the whole future seemed so golden. We’ll never get that back
Mad pingers, crystal Molly, MDA, research chemicals (2CB and other 2Cs were mailed to me for $25-60/gram and S isomer ketamine straight from the labs in India - 10g for $100 USD plus $4 postage), LSD was a bit weak per dose due to the Leonard Pickard bust around this time though still available and so much weed because there wasn't sniffer dogs at the entry at this point in time. Blessed to have been a late teen in those days. Attending Melb and Sydney big day outs after working at the gold coast big day out in crowd care. Great times.
@BuddyLove1899 although used in other countries it's mostly Australian slang for pressed MDMA tablet's AKA ecstasy. After having a good one or several you'll often say to friends or strangers "I'm pinging off my head". Hence the term "pingers" taking hold. There's no shortage of other names for them, but eccies, disco bics, bickies, flippers, Adam, rounds, round ones and countless other slang from decades past have mostly been overtaken by the blanket term pingers by young and old. There's so much MDMA crystal in Australia since the 2010s that there's far more of that (also known as Molly) than anything else in my experience as a decades long user and long term crowd care/chill space helper/medic for large music events. Definitely one of the best chemistry inventions of the 20th century and the pure compound is safer than countless common legal activities, including horse riding. The latter kills more people per capita than when you include adulterated substances sold as MDMA, which are far more dangerous. When it comes to drugs, just say "know" and test your gear. The most toxic substances the average person will use are alcohol combustible tobacco products. I hope you get the chance to try MDMA if you haven't already. Make sure to test yourself for the 1/1 million allergic reaction rate with a 1mg dose before taking a common 75-130ish mg dose. That allergy kills several people a year, but when compared to common pharmaceuticals, it's safety profile is ridiculously good. Hope that answers your question
+dimitar veljanovski I asked about 2016. I mean, from what I can see, gig-goers have becoming very calm and self-controlled. It seems like, the passion has gone.
I went through stage of loving this band...when in the mood..lol. I'm in nz and European backpacker were crazy for it, 90s. Crazy shit but got a luv it..occasionally
I was at this show. And this set was followed by slipknot if I’m not mistaken. The anticipation for these bands was off the charts both were at their peak
I was at that show. One of the best performances from ANY band, i have ever seen. The atmosphere was electric! Amazing show.
Its also a shame that this vid only shows about 5 songs out of their full 1.5hr set :(
They played a LOT more than is showed here. . . . .
there are at least 10 full set videos out there your not missing much
Me too ..best fkn day ❤

I'm curious... who are you talking about? :o
DerpyToasty I think he's talking about Justin Bieber. Because he cancelled a show after getting touched by a water bottle or something.
Serj : Thanks.. 😏
Man, how could anyone not love having this much chemistry on stage.
I love Chavo's enthusiasm while always singing along every single word. I guess he's actually the biggest fan of the band ever. ☺️

GRAMMAR THAT DO NOT FORGET.
No, this is correct. System of a down's performance was so good that the very minutes themselves will forever remember this event.
Back when concerts were concerts. No one had their phone out recording the whole thing. Just a bunch of people rocking out to music.
You right. But it was because we didn't have phones and security wouldn't let people bring in cameras. Unfortunately it'll never be like this again.
+jeannette thonnard you could always take cameras to the Big Day Out, they only clamp down on professional camera gear, that's the same case at most gigs/festivals. No one will bust your chops over a point and click camera..
