Share this story from California's, USA just a 5 dollar then called KNAC 105.5 first metal radio station in Los Angeles, CA.! I won front by phone call answering a question in a public payphone late 1980`s! LOL Won front row tickets to a show many bands paid called the Corona beer gardens! This is the first original drummer of Black Sabbath know this person? Carmen A? He played with a band named Top Hat! i knew the lead guitarist as they should have been huge rock stars! Left-handed guitarist and right hand that band shred Carmen was the drummer! That band was badass! He threw a drum stick into the crowd a full-on mosh pit! Caught this and used the drum stick jabbing people to get out as was crazy and hundreds of people! My cousin and I finally got out and meet the DJ`s any way she was Hot! I had that stick in my garage studio for years one day my then-new drummer used it could have rung his neck! So this was 20 years later! My neighbors were friends with Carmen for their whole life! The neighbor told me he was coming to visit them have dinner! One day he's getting out of a car and I said hey Carmen! Told him the story he remembered the show as well gave me new sticks then out his bag I still have them today a cool dude! There's my star-struck novel, as well his grip was hardcore!
@@jonathanweiss6313 Cleveland, Ohio. Cheers!
@@jonathanweiss6313 From Canada w/ love ha! Just across Lake Erie. 100 miles.
@@jonathanweiss6313 Been out west. Texas and Portland, Oregon.. Never been to Cali yet I want to see it once at least. Figure it out when I can. It's expensive to travel there. Yet alone live there. Cleveland is expensive. But not no where near as expensive as the west coast. That's just ridiculous. A $100,000/ home here costs a million or more there. I'll deal w/ our winters. No Problem. I can't sign up for that.
He's a straight powerhouse type of drummer.
Dave was one of my earliest favorites. . And still is
Dave Lombardo IS the best drummer on Earth
Not while Danny Carey walks the Earth
manesh fernandez lool no dude
Not while Portnoy Peart Mangini Minneman and Lopez are here
Maybe if Bonham, Peirt, Hoglan, Bostaph, Carry.....among many others, were never born.
And how exactly are you going to determine who is best in drumming?...if it was a contest of course... which it's not.

'Rare cover of Yoko Ono by Mike Patton & Dave Lombardo'
Dave Lombardo, Adrian Erlandsson and Mike Portnoy are among THE MOST FUN to watch drummers.
Vinnie Colaiuta.... check him out
My favorite drummer since discovering SLAYER over 30 years ago!!!
The best drummer in Heavy Metal.!
One of....
Saw Dave with Mr.Bungle this year, he is still an absolute beast!
The most powerful drummer in the known universe
Glad they showed some of the Gathering album. His drumming on that was fucking outstanding.
But far my favorite drummer of all time. It is criminally insane what Slayer did to him.
Criminally Insane
Incredible talent & groove and a wonderful humble man .
A Dave Lombardo compilation without a single Grip Inc extract, which feature by far some of his best performances? Shame.
Hostage to Heaven!!!!
I’d add the song “Seasons in the Abyss”. Dave owns that song - amazing stuff
Hard to believe somebody in Slayer didn't want to pay him for his service!
Slayer found a better drummer.
@@leopardcubpupkryky6940 Really? Dont think so, no Drummer has so much Groove while he plays fast. Drums must be Groove and not sounds like a computer, thats the point. Alot of Drummers are great in technics maybe more than dave, but they dont groove on Speed like him, no one.
Leopard Cup Pup Kryky lol no.. Dave was the best slayer had. Certainly better than paul
finding another drummer doesn't dispute the fact that he was robbed. I'm bothered by that fact "bigli"
One of Daves most impressive feats was that he was fucking 21 years old when Regin In Blood released.
10 Times Gene Hoglan Was the Best Drummer on Earth
I've been asking for this since they started this series. For god sake he was the one that taught this guy to blast beat.
@@whatsabryan Agreed! I love Slayer and Lombardo but Hoglan is the man.
@@whatsabryan Hoglan didn't taught him to blast beat, taught him to use double bass
The Atomic Clock versus The Atomic... Blast?
Let's see, when he was with Dark Angel, Death, Dethklok, Testament, Strapping Young Lad, Tenent, Fear Factory, and a handful of others. Dude is The Dude of metal drumming.
Bit of a Cuban influence in his drumming that I love
Of course, he is Cuban
Grip Inc. are so underrated
Bug Juice ftw
Mestre Dave, feliz 2020 para você.
