    So true!! When I was young and first married I moved to a remote area and was so sad . I didn’t talk to many people. Over time i had hallucinations and thought I was schizophrenic!! I was terrified and had heart palpitations. I couldn’t tell anyone and my husband didn’t understand. I read that B vitamins are eaten up in the brain when you are sad so you need so much more to replenish. I took 3 B complex every day and in time the blanket came off 🙏🏻 I know now that when I’m feeling down or have intrusive thoughts I load up on the B vitamins. It literally saved my life .

      @@Sunnydreamer1470 when I first was diagnosed with Vitiligo 25 years ago, my doctor prescribed B12 shots. I never felt better in my life, the Vitiligo stopped spreading. He was wonderful (grandfather of Modern Dermatology from Mass General Dr Thomas Fitzpatrick). He passed away and since then doctors just roll their eyes at me when I mention B12. Doctors today want to go straight to pharma w everything.

      @@good2go4Defiency of b12 is the worst than any risk of toxity as it is fatal if not treated... Here in Canada it's treated by family doctor with monthly injections and monitoring of levels. Here any level below 70 can't be measured. Levels of 300 still have symtoms of anemia. Those here are managed at much higher levels because one can run out before end of month in other words have anemia symtoms return with an continuation of damage to spinal cord. Yes! The issue is that M.D.s can tell us something is wrong but only Physicians, like you, can help us fix our bodies!! Thank you for freely providing the information we desperately need!!
    I am polycystic since childhood WITH hypoglycemia. Odd combination but the two types comes from both sides of my parents’ families so I have a combination that is very strange for docs to understand according to the “standard” of treating PVOS.
    I have had bouts of anemia, too! I remember my mother giving me iron supplements as a child.
    Polycystic women have late onset menopause AND an issue with D3/B12 uptake so I took liposomal B12 for years but got out of the habit because I “felt fine”. I’d been tested by a holistic doc over 10 years ago and told my D3 and B12 were so low, he was surprised I didn’t have a heart attack.
    Now, menopause has been hell for the last 8 months!!
    At 62, developed vagus nerve issues that affected my heart rate (over 200 one day), caused SVT, severe anxiety sensations, tingling in my fingers, toe cramps, muscle twitching, and diaphragm issues that feel like cramps mixed with being on a roller coaster! It’s been awful living this way!
    Looking back, it was coming on for YEARS but I chalked up the “odd” symptoms to age and stress from this crazy world.
    Docs said get off all supplements. Didn’t get better. I did all the heart tests, healthy, no blockages.
    I have been slowly adding back in iodine, D3 in a PROPER amounts, taking calming herbs, turmeric for inflammation, treating with Celtic salt (huge difference there because I hate salt so rarely salted my food), and now liposomal B12.
    When I took B12, iodine, and my supplements for PCOS, I did great! But, now that the hormones are up and down, I’m struggling to maintain even a plateau. Unlike most, I can’t eat much and have lost weight.
    We are NOT all the same and it’s frustrating!!
    How can a cardiologist NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE VAGUS NERVE!?!

    Colon Cancer surgery can also cause a Functional B12 Deficiency, if the Terminal Ileum is resected. That's the last 20-30 cm of your Small Intestine, and is where almost all of your B12 is absorbed. That's assuming you don't have an existing B12 digestive issue, and B12 is processed normally via diet. The basic process starts by chewing where the B12 is split from animal protein, after which it bonds to Transcobalamin I, or Haptocorin, to allow the B12 to survive your stomach acid. Then, after a trip through the stomach, it passes into the Ileum, or Small Intestine, where it is washed by the Pancreas to split off Transcobalamin I, so the B12 can then bond with Intrinsic Factor (IF) made by the parietal cells in the stomach (people who make little IF may therefore have Pernicious Anaemia, including those who have had Gastric Surgery if that restricts IF). After that, it can be absorbed via Terminal Ileum, where the IF is split off, so the B12 can then bond with Transcobalamin II, to form Holotranscobalamin, which is transported by the blood stream as the active form of B12 that is available at the cellular level. A lot will end up in the blood as inactive B12, hence why the standard B12 tests are not that useful, as they only tell you total Serum B12, not the level of active B12. After Colon surgery, I developed rapidly developing peripheral neuropathy, symmetrical paraesthesia, confusion, depression, hyper-pigmentation on my feet, and other symptoms that could only be B12 related. I tried oral B12, no joy. Then to avoid the digestive route, I tried sublingual B12, no joy. Then for the same reason, I tried B12 trans-dermal patches, also no joy. All these did were boost my Serum B12, with no effect on neurological symptoms. I had no help from the UK NHS, but tried self-injecting B12, and that worked within days. I will now need to keep that up for life but, I can say that it stopped, and reversed the issues, before they became irreversible.

    You sent me down the best rabbit hole ever and made me realise I had a very servere b12 deficiency. I suspected it for years but since the beginning of this year my heath rapidly declined and lost sensation in my big toe for months. I have nearly every single symptom you’ve spoken about except anaemia. B12 deficiency was the root cause. It took 5-6 months of countless appointments and blood tests for doctors to take me seriously and accept what I was saying. most Doctors only test b12 serum in the U.K. which doesn’t help. But in a test back in FEB my MMA was more than double the abnormal range yet they still said it wasn’t related to b12 because my serum was normal and I’m not vegi or vegan. After being pushy with them, a new doctor finally confirmed it and I’m getting regular injections for life due to malabsorption. I’m continuing to figure out why it’s happening as they said it’s not important to go down that route. I disagree and would still like to know as I want to reverse it if possible. I suspect SIBO as IF antibody test came back as normal. I'm trying the carnivore diet and raising my acidity levels. Hope it works. Thank you for all your videos I’ve learned so much and I’m so much more aware about what my body is lacking and how to listen to what it’s trying to say.

He has a long life, but had recurrent neurological problems, and with the physical symptoms came PTSD; he relived the combat event when the physical symptoms would occur. It was a vicious cycle

    • @TheHatchetwoman
      @TheHatchetwoman 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can also do sublingual (under the tongue) B12. Because you don't swallow it, it dissolves in your mouth, your mouth tissues absorb it, and it goes directly into your system, bypassing digestion. Be sure to get a substantial dosage, because if you're deficient, a measly 1,000 mcg isn't going to do it.

    Thank you for this. I am eating way less meat due to my kidney condition and feeling very tired. I think this could be my problem.

      Do you think if you ate more fish and eggs they would give you the b12 you need, and not upsetting your kidney condition.

    Would taking sublingual B12 tablets under the tongue be a better option as far as supplementing goes?

      Depends on the cause I've read that most cases are related to genes within a family, were your parents affected? I don't think it would be "cured" by keto or vitamins, discuss with a dentist.

    What do you think about One A Day for Women Or Centrum Silver brand vitamins

    • @Drberg
      @Drberg  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! They use mostly elemental minerals in this multivitamin, which don’t absorb well in the body, are very inexpensive, and are not sourced from plants.
      Synthetic vitamins are also not the same form as the vitamin or mineral that comes from nature, and they won’t absorb well in the body.
      Hope this helps!

    Can someone please help with me some advice? I want to start drinking the smoothie with the Kale and Blueberries and Kerif to help cure my liver. Should I drink this in the morning when I wake up or before I go to bed. If in the morning, can I also drink coffee or even drink a protein shake as well? I work for the post office, so I am pretty much walking all day long. I usually work 10 to 12 hours a day and only drink water and Powerade while I am working. I need to work on eating healthy though. Thanks so much in advance.

    Another important note, in my opinion, is that are all unique individuals. Most of us also have a wide variety of imbalances that can cause a wide variety of symptoms. Let's not forget that genetic dispositions can also create challenges as noted by Dr. Ben Lynch in his book Dirty Genes.

    Hello Dr. Berg and everyone. I just watched this video, and now my concerns are elevated. I have been on a clean keto life style for 5 years, and just last week I was dignosted with GERD (Acid Reflux) and was told that I need to change my diet and stop eating fat, among other things that I usualy don't eat. So my first concern is, how can I continue with my keto without fat? And 2nd, I read that the medicion I am taking, Nexium, may cause deficiency in B12. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
