      I think Huberman would politely tell Dispenza he was full of shit. Huberman is a high quality scientist, with a lab, doing rigorous experiments, and Dispenza is a Chiropractor from a crappy school (Life University) that lost it's accreditation. He is focused on telling you what you want to hear, to sell you tickets to his seminars, whereas Huberman has nothing to try to sell you. I have Dispenza books - there's a lot he says that I want to believe in, which is his goal. I like Huberman because he cites peer reviewed studies. He's trying to get to the same place Dispenza is, but logically and methodically with evidence. I like what Dispenza says.....a lot - but I want to TRUST who I believe. Hopefully that makes sense.

      @@jasonmitchell6773 I agree with a lot of what ur saying, but I think Huberman would be very interested in some of the work Dispenza has done, even tho they are in very different communities or spaces of science. On the Hubermanlab, Andrew has an episode on hypnosis with David Spiegel, and the benefits guided hypnosis can have for the mind and body. Dispenzas meditations are essentially guided hypnosis sessions, so I think Huberman would be in the wrong to just ignore Dispenza. Unless there’s some proof Dispenza is a fraud, but I think Dispenza has a lot of validity to his work, such as working with a couple respected universities and having now hundreds if not thousands of people that claim they’ve healed from his teachings. And I don’t really buy the thought that these people could be staged actors, cuz if u watch dispenzas transformation videos, fuck man he’d be recruiting some incredible actors

      @@jasonmitchell6773 joe dispenza uses scientific studies and notions to explain the benefits of meditation. he also taps into the divine or I would say metaphysical talk because of his religious fans but I wouldnt discredit him in any way even tho Im a avid atheist . he made me start meditating. he made me understand how our brain is a computer and habits are subconscious patterns we can reprogramm. Andrew, I started listening to this guy like 2 weeks ago and he goes way more deep just like Sapolsky. The quantity of data and info this men puts out in his podcast is mindblow and Im trying to optimise myself based on him. Been reading BEHAVE by Sapolsky too. I reccomend.

    It seems like Huberman is describing frequency bias -- the tendency to focus on specific thoughts leads people to selectively focus on and seek out experiences that confirm it. Like he said, this can be a good or a bad thing like a person who thinks all humans are terrible and therefore only sees the worst in people. Obviously, the law of attraction is about positive thinking and while it's good to have a positive mindset, your life doesn't magically improve by thinking good thoughts; hardships don't automatically disappear. A person can "attract" good things by setting goals and working towards them which Huberman elaborates on in another video called "Law of Attraction." It sounds like both videos are the same only this one cuts off before getting to that part which I think is one of the most important parts of any sort of positive thinking explanation. Regardless, it makes it all the more strange there's another video on this channel concerning the law of attraction that encourages people to imagine they already have the future they want. This has actually been proven to be harmful--scientists have seen that people actually work towards their goal less and are more complacent when they already see themselves as successful. I appreciate that Dr. Huberman avoids stating the law of attraction is real or exists here, but as a published neuroscientist, I'm surprised he'd toe the line with this sort of pseudoscience.

      A true scientist would never dismissed or completely rejecte pseudoscience. Unless they have concrete evidence to prove it wrong obviously. What Huberman did here is to bring some scientific evidence that somewhat relevant to this topic. After all, pseudoscience is hypothesis without scientific research methodology. Meditation has existed for thousands of years, with the start of Buddhism. Before we have the tools and knowledge to prove its benefits, it's still remain as pseudoscience. Nowadays, people finally prove that it actually works. Many pseudoscience topics are fuel to real experiments.

    It is SO interesting to watch Dr Huberman struggle to keep from saying there is no Scientific evidence that “The Law of Attraction” actually exists at all, but is chiefly an example of extreme wishful thinking in action.

    • @minhmeo5010
      @minhmeo5010 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Isn't it quite obvious that law of attraction is anything but science? Huberman is actually try to relate some scientific subjects to this concept. His point is that some parts of law of attraction is relatively helpful in someway, and even it's not scientific based, there's no harm to practice it and it's even somewhat helpful. I think many myths are like this. They are somehow helpful but people in the past who couldn't explain why elaborated it into concepts like law of attraction, meditation, or manifestation. Then later on science look into it and explain it in a scientific way. It's often not as miraculous as the original concept, but it's actually have some valid point. Just like alchemy and chemistry.
