Youve definitely captured both the challenge and the beauty of running in the Shropshire Hills here. This race was hard! It was lovely to meet you both in person having enjoyed many of your adventures on TH-cam, and a pleasure to share a little of the Conquest route with you. Look forward to seeing what you get up to next :)
Thank you Maxine, an absolute pleasure to share a few miles. You also did brilliant in your second ultra so many congratulations 👍
Wow, what a stunning area! The UK is so beautiful. Well done on another great achievement.
Cheers Alex, it was a lovely area to be in, made better with the fantastic (but draining) weather!
Superb performance from both of you 🎉 and what an interesting race that was! 😮
Thank you Greg 👍
Well done both of you and congratulations Cheryl! I had no idea how amazing this area is, thank you for another fantastic video.
Thank you so much, we were both surprised with how lovely the area was. Some tough short ascents too!
Fantastic Cheryl 3rd place well deserved as well. As always thanks very much for your time and effort making this video.
Thank you Martin, appreciated as always. Such a lovely area 😊
Recently discovered this are myself as parents moved nearby. Cracking views. Great work!
Thank you, it’s lovely isn’t it? A first for us but many reasons to return!
Beautiful route. Well done Cheryl 💪
Thank you ☺️
Well done guys, excellent job and loved the video as per usual.
Thank you Paula ☺️
Well done guys . Looked a tough day out in the heat !
Indeed it was Ken. Thank you so much 😊
Well done team! Another great video
Thank you ☺️
A great reminder of how lovely Shropshire is. Cheryl that was a good rant on loop 3! I am amazed at the the way you guys can run a seriously hilly ultra and then do another a couple of weeks later.
Haha, it was getting tough then! Definitely not recovered from The Fellsman so just did what we needed to do we got around the course. It was a tough day for everybody in the heat. Thank you ☺️
Aww, this was fantastic, Shropshire hills are fantastic and that looked like a really good event,I love the idea of the loops and the choice of direction you can run
I went up to Shropshire hills for my birthday last August with my friend who'd never visited before ( the one who insisted Yorkshire tea is smuggled by donkeys with panniers out of Yorkshire to keep tea Field locations secret ) he keeps asking when were going to go back, a lot of people don't realise how beautiful the area is and have never visited . Church stretton is a good base if people want to stay for a few days as you can do endless hill adventures from there as your base
Well done for another great video 👍
It was a first for us in the area and now have many reasons to return. We stayed in a lovely self contained flat in Church Stretton on Friday evening, just a mile from the start which really helped considering the early start of the race (6am). On reflection it was a great idea to get a few miles out of the way before it really warmed up.
Your tea story really is funny 😂
Well done to you both. I was doing a 38 mile ultra myself on Saturday. Tough going in that heat. Awesome
Wasn’t it just! Congrats on your ultra too. Loved it 👍
Well done both & congratulations to Cheryl. I had no idea about the countryside in Shropshire, will put this event on the list.
It’s a cracking event, highly recommended and yes, Cheryl did really well. Thank you ☺️
Smashed it, I did 12 slightly hilly miles that day and struggled with the heat, would not have enjoyed your event, chapeau
Thank you so much. A tough day for anybody out in the hills in that heat. Respect 👍
Well done to you both. The Shropshire hills are gorgeous and your film showed just how fab the area is. Thank you again for your great content , hope that you enjoyed several cold beers.
We had a brilliant day, thank you! We tried a beer when we got home but neither of us finished it. Strange! 😂
Congratulations Cheryl for third place! And congrats to both of you for finishing it in good time. What was the daytime temperature high? You both did really well and the views were amazing. What a pretty place that is. Thanks for filming it.
Thank you so much. Not sure on the actual temperatures but it was certainly uncomfortably warm. Lots of hydration needed but it was still a struggle. Such a lovely place to be though 😊
Well done guys! And Cheryl must be so pleased with 3rd female! What an achievement 🥇
We love using the church stretton hills as our training ground, it’s what got us through UTS!
You had a fabulous day and fabulous views!😊
Thank you Karen, loved the area. Four great loops which I’m sure you and Steve would enjoy. Well done on UTS 👍
@@TrailRunningCouple Thank you 🤩 it was great watching this and knowing we run around there! There was some content that i didn’t recognise but look fabulous to run on, so I may stalk your Strava and get on those trails! Looks a great race, and definitely something for us to consider next year 👍
@@KC_Cort Definitely Karen, you would both love the event. The format is brilliant. I’ll send the four individual GPX files over to Steve for you both to try 👍
@@TrailRunningCouple that’s brilliant 🤩 thank you ☺️
One of my favourite vids that. Well done to both again and nice silver plate for 3rd place. I laughed at the girl at the biggining trying to get signal on her watch. I watched that 5 times as i do something similar 🤣. The views are epic especially on Leg 4. I just had no idea and it made me a bit numb as many years ago i spent 6 years traveling to and from Shrewsbury. However i wasn't a runner back then else i would have discovered those hills for myself. Good to see Richard at the end also. Done lots of Beyond races in the past. Will need to add this race to the bucket list now as i want to cut down next year on the expensive 100's.
Hi Andy, probably right up your street this one. Whilst the hills aren’t exactly mountains they’re tough and testing enough for a route of that distance. Really enjoyed it, especially the free format. Great day out if not a little warm at times 🥵
That really was beautiful. Great running guys. Was there any benefit in choosing clockwise or anti for any of the loops?
Hi and thank you! We lacked knowledge of the area so just went with the GPX files that were provided in the direction they came. Others did opt for the alternatives but couldn’t say for sure if either would have been preferred. Probably both as tough as each other!
Well done! Congratulations on another impressive run. Beautiful scenery, well filmed on a lovely day. Thank you :)
Do either of you use an electrolyte drink, either during or after the run? Such as Tailwind or Skratch? Cheers.
Hi, thank you. Tough with the heat but really enjoyable. As for electrolytes we use Voom bars and Clif Shot Blocs which have them along with Salt Stick tablets if it’s really warm which it was and we did on Saturday!
great race you guys and congratulations Cheryl, It was great to see you both as you approached the campsite at the end of loop 3. It certainly sounded like you enjoyed the Shropshire Hills, they make a great training ground for us runners who can't make it up to the Lakes regularly. Can I ask did the race team provide a GPX for the route, you did so well not to go off track. Keep up the great channel, see you in Coniston
Hi Jon, really nice to meet you where we did and again at the end. Tough day out!
Yes, GPX files were available and very accurate.
See you in Coniston!
Great video! I was just wondering if you were planning on releasing a video of the Fellsman?
@@jrbk100 we have a little footage but stopped filming around 20 miles or so in. It became difficult so decided to put all efforts into getting around. Hopefully back again next year 👍
